Method for responding to electrical power source request
A method of estimating power flexibility for a climate system includes receiving a component power flexibility measurement from one or more components of the climate system, and aggregating the component power flexibility measurement from each of the one or more components of the climate system to determine a climate system power flexibility. A method of responding to a fast demand request from an electrical power source for a climate system is also disclosed.
System and methods for actively managing electric power over an electric power grid and providing revenue grade data usable for settlement
Systems and methods for managing power on an electric power grid including a server for communicating IP-based messages over a network with distributed power consuming devices and/or power supplying devices, the IP-based messages including information relating to activities by the power consuming devices and/or the power supplying devices; and wherein the information is transformed by the system into settlement grade data corresponding to the activities of the power consuming devices and/or the power supplying devices.
Domestic appliance demand-response power consumption control system and method
A power control device for an electrically powered appliance may selectively switch off one 110 volt input (of two separate 110 volt input lines) of a 220 volt power supply to the appliance during certain periods of operation, in response to a demand-response request. This may adjust operation of one or more components of the appliance, thus adjusting an amount of power consumed by the appliance. A determination of which one, of the two, 110 volt input lines to be switched off may be made based on an analysis of the amount of power consumed by each of the two 110 volt input lines during operation of the appliance. The power control device may be provided at any point between the electrically powered appliance and a power distribution panel distributing power from an external source.
Power system restoration incorporating diverse distributed energy resources
An example system includes an aggregator configured to receive a service collaboration request and iteratively determine, based on minimum and maximum power values for DERs under its management, an optimized operation schedule. The aggregator may also be configured to iteratively determine, based on the optimized operation schedule, an estimated flexibility range for devices under its management and output an indication thereof. The system may also include a power management unit (PMU) configured to iteratively receive the indication and determine, based on a network model that includes the estimated flexibility range, a reconfiguration plan and an overall optimized operation schedule for the network. The PMU may also be configured to iteratively cause reconfiguration of the network based on the plan. The PMU and aggregator may also be configured to iteratively, at a fast timescale, cause energy resources under their management to modify operation based on the overall optimized operation schedule.
METHOD AND CENTRAL COMPUTER ARRANGEMENT FOR PREDICTING A GRID STATE, AND COMPUTER PROGRAM PRODUCT
A method predicts a grid state of an electrical power distribution grid, in which a central computer arrangement is used to receive measured values from measuring devices. A state estimation device is used to predict a future grid state, wherein the prediction of the future grid state is taken as a basis for ascertaining measures to guarantee stability of the power distribution grid. The prediction is made for multiple times within a predefined time window. A first prediction device is used to ascertain a prediction for a first portion of the multiple times on the basis of a voltage var control method, and in that a second prediction device is used to ascertain a prediction for a second portion of the multiple times on the basis of a neural network method.
CONTROLLING POWER TO A LOAD BASED ON SENSED ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Electrical load controllers and methods for controlling conduction of electrical power to loads are provided that include determination of a baseline value based on a dynamic collection of past value(s), determination of a threshold humidity value as a function of a baseline humidity value and a second humidity value greater than the baseline humidity value and/or based on a received ambient light value, and/or determination of whether to transition a switching circuit to an ON state based on a current humidity value, other sensed environmental condition, baseline humidity value, and/or a threshold value.
Communication protocol for distributed energy management
A system, a device, a method, a communication protocol, and/or the like, for energy management in a fragment, heterogeneous, electrical grid. The grid may include multiple types of power generation systems, electrical energy storage systems, electrical loads, and efficiently managing these systems may require elements that will bridge the technology gap of these systems, as well as provide best-effort power generation and consumption in order to stabilize the grid. These techniques are especially important in differentiated electric energy networks, such as micro-grids, island grids, virtual power plants, and/or the like.
STRATEGIC RATIONING OF VEHICLE ENERGY FOR SUPPORTING HOUSEHOLD LOADS DURING POWER OUTAGES
Systems and methods are provided for coordinating and providing bidirectional energy transfer events between electrified vehicles and households or other structures, such as for supporting household loads associated with the structures during power outage conditions. In some implementations, available energy may be rationed from the vehicle to the structure based on a power outage restoration estimate. Rather than supporting household loads with constant energy during power outage conditions, the disclosed systems/methods may provide strategic rationing of bidirectional energy transfer in order to extend appliance operation for the duration of power outage conditions.
Wellsite electrical power management system
A method includes supplying a plurality of generators, each generator in electrical communication with a switchgear with each switchgear in data communication with a generator data management system. The method also includes supplying a plurality of electrically driven fracturing pumps with each electrically driven fracturing pump in data communication with pump data management system. Further, the method includes supplying a load shedding system, the load shedding system in data communication with the generator data management system and a pump control system, the pump control system in data communication with the pump data management system. The method includes determining which pumps should have speed reduced by the load shedding system and reducing the speed of the pumps determined by the load shedding system using the pump control system.
