Dynamic modification of antenna beamforming functionality
Methods and systems are provided for dynamically disabling beamforming functionality of a first frequency band. The first frequency band is determined to have beamforming enabled. The user device is detected as being connected to the first frequency band for access to a wireless telecommunications network. A first fading channel measurement of the first frequency band is determined to be above a threshold. In response to determining that the first fading channel measurement is above the threshold, beamforming of the first frequency band is dynamically disabled.
Multi-directional, multi-port array antenna structure
A simple multi-directional, multi-port array antenna structure is disclosed that can be used for a variety of applications, including but not limited to direction finding (DF) and beam-forming applications in receive and transmit modes, respectively. The disclosed antenna structure offers unique functionalities in both receive and transmit modes. For DF applications in the receive mode, the back-end of the antenna structure features a power sensing mechanism to monitor the power received at all ports. In the transmit mode, the disclosed antenna structure is used for beamforming applications by providing individual port excitation and using antenna arrays.

Apparatus and method for managing resource of radio unit of base station in wireless communication system
The disclosure relates to a pre 5th generation (5G) or 5G communication system to be provided for supporting higher data rates beyond 4th generation (4G) communication system such as long term evolution (LTE). A method for operating a radio unit (RU) of a base station is provided. The method includes transmitting, to a digital unit (DU), a first message comprising a value indicating the maximum number of masks for one resource area, and receiving, from the DU, a second message generated based on the value, wherein the mask may indicate resources to which the same beam is applied within the resource area.
Method and device for mitigating interference in unlicensed band
A wireless device in an unlicensed band receives from a base station a request signal requesting initiation of downlink (DL) transmission. If carrier sensing (CS) is performed and a wireless medium idles, the wireless device transmits to the base station a response signal accepting the initiation of the DL transmission. The CS is performed with respect to a receive (RX) beam direction obtained from the request signal.
Receiver address field for multi-user transmissions in WLAN systems
In wireless communications for multi-users, a station may receive a trigger frame including a transmitter address field. When the trigger frame is a multi-user request-to-send (MU-RTS) frame eliciting clear-to-send (CTS) frames from a plurality of stations, the station transmit a CTS frame including a first receiver address field in response to the trigger frame. The first receiver address field may be set equal to the transmitter address field. When the trigger frame elicits data frames from a plurality of stations, the station transmit a data frame including a second receiver address field in response to the trigger frame. The second receiver address field may be set to a destination address. Other methods, apparatus, and computer-readable media are also disclosed.

Provided are a method and apparatus for supporting beam-based cooperative communication for smoothly providing a service in a wireless communication system. The method, performed by a terminal, of supporting beam-based cooperative communication includes: receiving, from a base station, configuration information for measuring quality of a beam; receiving first reference signals regarding desired channels respectively corresponding to a plurality of transmission beams received from the base station, and second reference signals regarding interference channels respectively corresponding to a plurality of transmission beams that interfere with the plurality of transmission beams received from the base station; and measuring quality of a beam regarding the plurality of transmission beams received from the base station, based on the configuration information, the first reference signals, and the second reference signals.
Techniques for using reflecting nodes to cancel interfering signals in wireless communications
Aspects described herein relate to identifying an aggressor node that transmits interfering signals that cause interference to signals received at the node, communicating a configuration for applying a phase shift to the interfering signals for forwarding to the node from a reflecting node with the phase shift applied, and communicating, from the reflecting node, the interfering signals with the phase shift applied to at least partially cancel the interference to the signals received at the node.
Listen-before-talk beam overlap measurement procedures
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A wireless device, such as a base station or a user equipment, may identify an energy detection threshold for a sensing beam associated with a channel access procedure, such as a listen-before-talk (LBT) procedure. The wireless device may also identify a set of transmit power parameters for one or more transmit beams. The wireless device may determine a degree of overlap between a coverage area of one or more transmit beams and a coverage area of the sensing beam. The wireless device may adjust the set of transmit power parameters, the energy detection threshold, or a combination thereof based on the degree of overlap. The wireless device may perform the channel access procedure based on the determining, the adjusting, or both.
