Systems and methods for creating and navigating broadcast-ready social content items in a live produced video
Systems and methods for incorporating social content items into a produced video are provided. The system presents a producer interface to a user that allows the user to query for social content items. The user may then select and arrange social content items in an on-air queue. In an on-air mode, the system generates a broadcast-ready on-air format of the social content items and provides a video stream including the broadcast-ready social content items in the on-air queue to a video production system. The broadcast-ready social content items are incorporated into a produced video by the video production system. The user may navigate through the social content items in the on-air queue while on camera as part of the produced video.
BROADCASTING SIGNAL FRAME GENERATION APPARATUS AND METHOD USING LAYERED DIVISIONAL MULTIPLEXING
An apparatus and method for broadcast signal frame using layered division multiplexing are disclosed. An apparatus for generating broadcast signal frame according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a combiner configured to generate a multiplexed signal by combining a core layer signal and an enhanced layer signal at different power levels; a power normalizer configured to reduce the power of the multiplexed signal to a power level corresponding to the core layer signal; a time interleaver configured to generate a time-interleaved signal by performing interleaving that is applied to both the core layer signal and the enhanced layer signal; and a frame builder configured to generate a broadcast signal frame including a preamble for signaling time interleaver information shared by the core layer signal and the enhanced layer signal, using the time-interleaved signal.
System and method for large data transmission in digital radio broadcasting
Large data transmission in digital radio broadcasting system and method are disclosed. A first channel information of tuned frequency indicates the availability of the data distribution table. Second channel information contains the data distribution info table (list of frequencies mapped to data chunk identifiers). Data chunks have a unique id. Digital broadcast radio receiver receives data distribution tables and parses through the currently tuned frequencies data distribution table. The receiver has information on how to collect the distributed data. Receiver uses its primary tuner to receive the data chunks in the current tuned frequency. Rest of the data chunks are collected by the background tuners in a parallel fashion by tuning to required frequencies. Once all chunks are collected, data file is reconstructed and available for presentation to the user.
Apparatus for transmitting broadcast signal, apparatus for receiving broadcast signal, method for transmitting broadcast signal and method for receiving broadcast signal
A method for transmitting broadcast signals, includes encapsulating input packets including Internet Protocol (IP) packets or Transport Stream (TS) packets into link layer packets in a link layer, each header of the link layer packets including packet type information representing a type of the input packets in a payload of each link layer packet and payload configuration information representing a configuration of the payload of each link layer packet, wherein for a first link layer packet including a single packet, the payload configuration information of the header in the first link layer packet has a value representing that the first link layer packet carries the single packet, the header further includes header mode information representing a length related to the first link layer packet.

Transmitting apparatus and receiving apparatus and controlling method thereof
A transmitting apparatus is provided. The transmitting apparatus includes: a frame generator configured to generate a frame including a plurality of orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) symbols; and a guard interval (GI) inserter configured to insert GIs into the generated frame, wherein the plurality of OFDM symbols are divided into a bootstrap, a preamble, and a payload, and the GI inserter inserts first GIs having a size corresponding to a fast Fourier transform (FFT) size of each of OFDM symbols configuring the payload into front ends of each of the OFDM symbols, inserts second GIs having a size corresponding to a quotient obtained by dividing an extra region of the payload calculated based on the FFT size of the OFDM symbols configuring the payload, the number of OFDM symbols, and the size of the first GIs by the number of OFDM symbols into front ends of each of the first GIs, and inserts a cyclic postfix (CP) having a size corresponding to the remainder remaining after dividing the extra region of the payload by the number of OFDM symbols into a rear end of a final OFDM symbol configuring the payload.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PROVIDING MEDIA CONTENT FOR AN EXHIBIT OR DISPLAY
Systems and methods for providing media content to supplement an exhibit from an image of an audience for the exhibit include an image capture device proximate the exhibit that captures an image of the audience that includes the faces of audience members. A facial recognition process is used to identify each audience member, and certain audience characteristics are determined from the captured image. Stored information about the identified audience members and/or the audience characteristic information are used to determine the media content to provide to a playback device for playback while the exhibit is viewed by the audience.

BROADCAST POSITIONING SYSTEM SUPPORTING LOCATION SERVICES THROUGH OVER-THE-AIR TELEVISION (TV) SIGNALS
Broadcast positioning systems supporting location services through over-the-air broadcast television (TV) signals are disclosed. The broadcast positioning system supports a broadcast TV signal format that includes a transmission time of the broadcast TV. The transmission time of the broadcast TV signal is used by a TV signal receiver to determine the propagation delay of the broadcast TV signal between the TV signal transmitter and the TV signal receiver. The TV signal receiver is also configured to receive multiple broadcast TV signals from multiple TV broadcasters, wherein the same delay of arrival for those broadcast TV signals can be determined. In this manner, the TV signal receiver can use the determined multiple delays of arrival from the multiple received broadcast TV signals as time-of-arrival (TOA) and the known locations of the antenna radiating these multiple broadcast TV signals to perform a trilateration or multilateration calculation to determine its position.
