ATSC 3 reception across boundary conditions using location data
Techniques are described for expanding and/or improving the Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC) 3.0 television protocol in robustly delivering the next generation broadcast television services. A receiver, to automatically switch from presenting a service on a first frequency to a second frequency such as when a mobile receiver is moving through a boundary region between two broadcasters, can consider not just signal strength and error rates of two frequencies carrying the same service to select which frequency to tune to, but also relative location and direction of motion of the receiver with respect to each broadcaster.

TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT ARCHITECTURE
A cable distribution system includes a head end connected to a plurality of customer devices through a transmission network that provides data suitable for the plurality of customer devices. A traffic monitoring system receives from a customer support device a first data request for a parameter of one of the plurality of customer devices. The traffic monitoring system provides a second data request for the parameter of the one of said plurality of customer devices to a customer premise equipment management system in response to receiving the first data request. The traffic monitoring system receiving a first data response including the parameter from the customer premise equipment management system in response to providing the second data request to the customer premise equipment management system. The traffic monitoring system providing a second data response including the parameter from the traffic management system to the customer support device in response to receiving the first data response.

Methods and apparatus to monitor on-demand media
Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture are disclosed to monitor on-demand media. Example apparatus disclosed herein include a metadata collection controller to collect metadata associated with on-demand media in response to publication of the on-demand media. Disclosed example apparatus also include a download controller to download the on-demand media. Disclosed example apparatus further include a signature generator to generate one or more signatures representative of the on-demand media, and store a profile of the on-demand media in a data storage, the profile including the one or more signatures and the metadata associated with the on-demand media.
Methods and apparatus to determine audio source impact on an audience of media
Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture to determine audio source impact on an audience of media are disclosed. A disclosed example apparatus includes at least one memory, instructions in the apparatus, and processor circuitry to execute the instructions to: divide audio of monitored media into successive audio segments; perform speaker identification on the audio segments; generate confidence values for speakers identified in the audio segments; generate speaker identification data for ones of the speakers having respective confidence values that satisfy a threshold; and analyze the speaker identification data to determine a speaker impact on audience ratings data.
METHODS, DEVICES, AND SYSTEMS FOR DISTRIBUTING CONTENT IN COMMUNITY OF OVER-THE-AIR BROADCAST CONTENT RECEIVERS
A method of providing channel content in a broadcast content reception and distribution system includes: receiving, by a broadcast content reception device, information that identifies a channel that provides channel content, from a content player device; receiving, by the broadcast content reception device, a signal that transmits the channel content, from an antenna; receiving, by the broadcast content reception device, information that indicates a signal strength corresponding to the channel based on the signal that transmits the channel content received from the antenna; determining, by the broadcast content reception device, that the signal strength is less than or equal to a threshold value based on the information that indicates the signal strength; and transmitting, by the broadcast content reception device, a message to the content player device in response to the determining that the signal strength is less than or equal to the threshold value.

System and method for determining an inactive television channel
An image analysis system and method determines whether a channel is active by intercepting signals from a set-top box and determining whether the signals correspond to an inactive channel by analyzing pixels, recognized text and/or audio in the signal stream. The system and method controls tuning of the set-top box to each channel to be tested. Data relating to the analysis may be stored and transmitted for processing credit requests.
