The basic solutions to counter those errors are: proper design of the CSI vector quantizer indexing (i.e., the bit representation of centroid indices) in order to minimize impact of index errors, use of error detection techniques to expurgate the erroneous indices and use of other methods to recover correct indices.

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may determine that a set of uplink resources to be used for transmitting a channel state information (CSI) communication is insufficient to permit one or more four-bit sub-band channel quality indicator (CQI) values to be transmitted in the CSI communication. The UE may determine whether the set of uplink resources is sufficient to permit one or more two-bit sub-band differential CQI values to be transmitted in the CSI communication. The UE may selectively transmit the one or more two-bit sub-band differential CQI values in the CSI communication based at least in part on the determination of whether the set of uplink resources is sufficient to permit the one or more two-bit sub-band differential CQI values to be transmitted in the CSI communication. Facilitation of reporting sub-band channel quality indicators for 5G or other next generation network

Reporting sub-band channel quality is described. For instance, instruction data representative of an instruction to select a provisional channel quality indicator is received by a mobile device from network equipment based on aperiodic channel quality data associated with a sub-band, wherein the instruction data is based on a configured bandwidth part associated with a communication between the network equipment and the mobile device, and wherein a channel quality indicator comprises a full resolution associated with the sub-band. Further, in response to the receiving, the mobile device can select the provisional channel quality indicator based on the instruction data. Furthermore, in response to the selecting, the mobile device can facilitate sending the channel quality indicator to the network equipment in accordance with a full resolution instruction associated with the full resolution.

CHANNEL STATE INFORMATION FEEDBACK COMPRESSION

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may transmit a first part of a channel state information (CSI) report, wherein the first part includes an indication of whether a value of a second part of the CSI report matches a value of a previous CSI report; and selectively transmit the second part of the CSI report based at least in part on whether the indication indicates that the value of the second part of the CSI report matches the value of the previous CSI report. In some aspects, a UE may determine a modified subband size of the UE, wherein the modified subband size is different than a configured subband size of the UE; and transmit, in a CSI report, an indication regarding the modified subband size to a base station. The method includes: A first communication device sends a first frame to a second communication device, where the first frame is used to indicate the second communication device to perform channel sounding on a part of antennas of the first communication device. The first communication device sends a second frame to the second communication device, where the second frame is used by the second communication device to perform channel sounding on the part of antennas. The first communication device receives a third frame from the second communication device, where the third frame is used to indicate a result of performing channel sounding on the part of antennas.

Compressed measurement feedback using an encoder neural network

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may perform a measurement operation to attain multiple measurements to report to a base station. The measurements may correspond to a first number of bits if reported. The UE may compress the measurements using an encoder neural network (NN) to obtain an encoder output indicating the measurements. This encoder output may include a second number of bits that is less than the first number of bits. The UE may report the encoder output to the base station in this compressed form. At the base station, the encoder output may be decompressed according to a decoder NN. Once the base station decompresses the encoder output, the UE and base station may communicate according to the measurements determined from the decompression. In some cases, the base station may perform load redistribution based on the measurements.

Determining an encoding scheme for differential RSRP reporting

Apparatuses, methods, and systems are disclosed for determining an encoding scheme for RSRP transmission. One method includes determining multiple reference signal received power (“RSRP”) values. Each RSRP value of the multiple RSRP values corresponds to a beam measurement. The method includes determining a difference between a first RSRP value of the multiple RSRP values and a second RSRP value of the multiple RSRP values. The method also includes, in response to the difference being less than or equal to a predetermined threshold, transmitting information indicating the second RSRP value using a first encoding scheme. The method includes, in response to the difference being greater than the predetermined threshold, transmitting the information indicating the second RSRP value using a second encoding scheme. The first encoding scheme is different from the second encoding scheme.

A method and user equipment are provided for generating a channel state information feedback report, which has multiple layers, from channel state information associated with each of the multiple layers including at least one parameter, which is commonly present in the channel state information associated with each of the multiple layers. Each commonly present parameter in each of the multiple layers has a respective value. A set of reference signals transmitted from a network entity are received and observed channel characteristics are organized, based on the received set of reference signals, into the multiple layers of channel state information. From the at least one parameter, which is commonly present in each of the multiple layers, selecting one or more parameters from which a respective index value can be derived for each of the multiple layers. The derived respective index values are jointly encoded, and the channel state information feedback report is formulated, which includes the jointly encoded derived index values, and the channel state information of each of the multiple layers, exclusive of the selected one or more parameters from which the respective index value for each of the multiple layers has been derived.
