PROBING AVAILABLE BANDWIDTH ALONG A NETWORK PATH
In one embodiment, a time period is identified in which probe packets are to be sent along a path in a network based on predicted user traffic along the path. The probe packets are then sent during the identified time period along the path. Conditions of the network path are monitored during the time period. The rate at which the packets are sent during the time period is dynamically adjusted based on the monitored conditions. Results of the monitored conditions are collected, to determine an available bandwidth limit along the path.

CIRCUIT AND METHOD FOR CREDIT-BASED FLOW CONTROL
A receiving circuit of a communications link comprises: a first data buffer configured to input, under control of a first clock signal, data of a first data stream transmitted by a transmitting circuit, and to generate a credit trigger signal indicating when a data value is read from the first data buffer, wherein data is read from the first data buffer, or from a further data buffer coupled to the output of the first data buffer, under control of a second clock signal; and a credit generation circuit configured to generate, based on the credit trigger signal, a credit signal for transmission to the transmitting circuit under control of the first clock signal, the credit signal indicating that one or more further data values of the first data stream can be transmitted by the transmitting circuit.

A system and method for correcting for phase errors, in a phase locked loop, resulting from spread spectrum clocking involving a reference clock signal having a frequency modulation. A correction generation circuit generates an offset signal, that when injected after the charge pump of the phase locked loop, causes the voltage controlled oscillator to produce a signal with substantially the same frequency modulation, thereby reducing the phase error. The correction generation circuit may include a timing estimation circuit for estimating the times at which transitions (between positive-sloping and negative-sloping portions of the triangle wave) occur, and an amplitude estimation circuit for estimating the amplitude of the offset signal that results in a reduction in the phase error.

A cloud controller can receive a signal indicating that an unauthenticated device is requesting private network resources, establish a connection between the unauthenticated device and the cloud controller, and determine that the unauthenticated device is associated with a private network. The cloud controller can facilitate the negotiation of security material between the device and the network and automatically establish a secure link between the device and the private network. The cloud controller can cause the security material to be sent to the device and can transmit a policy instruction that is effective to cause a switch port to automatically bypass a default access policy and automatically adopt a trusted policy for device to access the private network.

Technologies for packet forwarding under ingress queue overflow conditions includes a computing device configured to receive a network packet from another computing device, determine whether a global packet buffer of the NIC is full, and determine, in response to a determination that the global packet buffer is full, whether to forward all the global packet buffer entries. The computing device is additionally configured to compare, in response to a determination not to forward all the global packet buffer entries, a selection filter to one or more characteristics of the received network packet and forward, in response to a determination that the selection filter matches the one or more characteristics of the received network packet, the received network packet to a predefined output. A radio network node, e.g. an Access Point, and wireless devices are comprised in a Wireless Local Area Network. The radio network node is configured to: Identify wireless devices associated with common properties of one or more predetermined property types. Obtain data intended for transmission to the identified wireless devices, where different parts of the data is intended for transmission to different wireless devices. Form a single data packet based on said common properties and comprising the obtained data. The single data packet is associated with a packet type directed to deliver data to only a single wireless device. Transmit the single data packet on a communication channel being accessed by all of the identified wireless devices.
Adaptive flow prioritization
A method for communication includes receiving and forwarding packets in multiple flows to respective egress interfaces of a switching element for transmission to a network. For each of one or more of the egress interfaces, in each of a succession of arbitration cycles, a respective number of the packets in each of the plurality of the flows that are queued for transmission through the egress interface is assessed, and the flows for which the respective number is zero are assigned to a first group, while the flows for which the respective number is non-zero are assigned to a second group. The received packets that have been forwarded to the egress interface and belong to the flows in the first group are transmitted with a higher priority than the flows in the second group.
