DEVICE RECOMMENDATION METHOD AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE
20230232066 · 2023-07-20 · ·

This application provides a device recommendation method and an electronic device, and relates to the terminal field. The method includes: receiving, by a first device, a first operation of enabling a first service by a user; in response to the first operation, separately obtaining, by the first device from N electronic devices, device parameters associated with the first service, where the N electronic devices and the first device are located in a same communication network; predicting, by the first device according to the device parameters, quality of service of executing the first service by each electronic device of the N electronic devices; and displaying, by the first device, a device list according to the quality of service of executing the first service by each electronic device in the N electronic devices, where the device list includes a device identifier of at least one electronic device in the N electronic devices.

Systems and methods for modifying playback of a media asset in response to a verbal command unrelated to playback of the media asset

Systems and methods are described for translating a non-playback command into a playback modification to encourage a recipient of the command to execute on the command. A media guidance application may determine a command from a first user to a second user. The media guidance application may compare the command to a set of playback operation commands for a media asset that is currently being played back. The media guidance application may determine that the command is not contained within the set of playback operation commands. In response to determining that the command is not contained within the set of commands, the media guidance application may determine whether the second user executes a desired outcome of the command. And in response to determining that the second user does not execute the desired outcome of the command, the media guidance application may determine whether to modify playback of the media asset.

Playback transitions

Examples described herein relate to transitioning a playback session between portable playback devices such as “smart” headphones, earbuds, and handheld speakers with playback devices of a zone-based media playback system. Exemplary techniques facilitate continuity of playback when transitioning between locations (e.g., from at home to on-the-go or vice versa) or between listening paradigms (e.g., personal or out-loud playback of audio content). An example implementation includes detecting a swap trigger, determining the source playback device(s) and target playback device(s), and performing a playback session swap between the source playback device(s) and target playback device(s).

System and Method for Providing a Quiet Zone

A system and method for quieting unwanted sound. As a non-limiting example, various aspects of this disclosure provide a system and method, for example implemented in a premises-based or home audio system, for quieting unwanted sound at a particular location.

AI-BASED VIRTUAL PROXY NODES FOR INTENT RESOLUTION IN SMART AUDIO DEVICES

A system and method are disclosed that utilizes an artificial intelligence based virtual proxy node. The virtual proxy node includes an intent resolution model and communicates between a smart audio device and at least one secondary device, wherein the at least one secondary device is configured to be controlled by a smart audio device or smart hub. The virtual proxy node tracks interactions between the smart audio device and the at least one secondary device to derive historical and context data from the tracking interactions. The virtual proxy node uses the historical and context data to predict which secondary device will be successful in responding to the user input command and broadcasts the input command to the virtual proxy node associated with one of the at least one secondary device. The virtual proxy node includes an intent resolution model trained by historical and context data.

Methods, systems, and media for detecting the presence of a digital media device on a network

Methods, systems, and media for detecting the presence of a digital media device on a network are provided. In some embodiments, methods for detecting a presence of a particular type of digital media device is provided, the methods comprising: identifying cached device details for devices previously associated with the network; performing a simple device discovery protocol (SSDP) on the network, and substantially concurrently sending a unicast message to an address associated with the identified cached digital media device using hypertext transfer protocol (HTTP); and indicating the presence of a digital media device on the network in response to either (i) receiving a response to the unicast message, or (ii) determining that a type of a device discovered using SSDP is the same as the particular device type.

Information display regarding playback queue subscriptions
11698769 · 2023-07-11 · ·

Example techniques relate to playback queue subscriptions. An example implementation involves a computing system receiving, from a first computing device associated with a first user account, an instruction to enable subscription to a first playback queue associated with a first media playback system. In response to the instruction, the computing system enables second user accounts to subscribe to the first playback queue. The second user accounts are registered with respective second media playback systems in respective second household. The computing system receives, from a particular second media playback system, a request to subscribe to the first playback queue; and in response, sends one or more messages that update a control interface of the first control device to display a subscriber indication and (ii) sends one or more messages that populate a second playback queue of the particular second media playback system with audio tracks of the first playback queue.

System and method for providing network support services and premises gateway support infrastructure

A service management system communicates via wide area network with gateway devices located at respective user premises. The service management system remotely manages delivery of application services, which can be voice controlled, by a gateway, e.g. by selectively activating/deactivating service logic modules in the gateway. The service management system also may selectively provide secure communications and exchange of information among gateway devices and among associated endpoint devices. An exemplary service management system includes a router connected to the network and one or more computer platforms, for implementing management functions. Examples of the functions include a connection manager for controlling system communications with the gateway devices, an authentication manager for authenticating each gateway device and controlling the connection manager and a subscription manager for managing applications services and/or features offered by the gateway devices. A service manager, controlled by the subscription manager, distributes service specific configuration data to authenticated gateway devices.

Network management system and method for access network

A premises networking device includes hardware components including speakers, microphone, infrared sensor, spectrum analyzer and wireless interfaces. A touch screen display presents a user interface that provides information about network conditions and configuration settings and a menu for setting and changing configuration settings. Different versions of the user interface are displayed based on whether a user is in proximity to the device. The user interface includes shapes representing user devices, the visual characteristics of which change based on the current network conditions. A health score, which is an evaluation of network performance based on measurements of aspects of the conditions of the network, is displayed in real time. A network management system includes a network management platform for storing network conditions and configuration information and pushing the information to premises networking devices. An application programming interface allows third-party applications to send instructions to and access data from various system processes.

Touchless setup mode initiation for networked devices

A method for causing an audio/video (A/V) recording and communication device to enter a setup mode involves detecting motion by one or more sensors of the A/V recording and communication device, while the A/V recording and communication device is disconnected from a local network. The method also involves entering, by the A/V recording and communication device, a setup mode to initiate a setup procedure after the detected motion. The setup procedure allows the A/V recording and communication device to wirelessly connect to a client device. The method further involves determining whether the client device connects to the A/V recording and communication device within a predetermined timeout period. Additionally, the method involves exiting the setup mode when the A/V recording and communication device does not connect to the client device within the predetermined timeout period.
