Receiver for high speed communication channel
A receiver for data recovery from a channel signal of a communications channel. The receiver includes a quantization circuit to generate a quantized code corresponding to the channel signal. A first decision circuit recovers, in a first signal processing mode, digital data for the channel signal based on the quantized representation of the channel signal. A second decision circuit recovers, in a second signal processing mode, the digital data for the channel signal based on the quantized representation of the channel signal. A controller selects between the first signal processing mode and the second signal processing mode based on a parameter indicative of a signal quality of the channel signal.
Adjustable signal equalization device and adjustment method thereof
An adjustable signal equalization device includes an equalizer circuitry, an analog-to-digital converter (ADC), a calculation circuitry, and a comparator circuitry. The equalizer circuitry has a transfer function, and processes an input signal based on the transfer function to generate an output signal. The ADC generates a digital signal according to the output signal. The calculation circuitry performs an accumulation according to the first digital signal to generate a first accumulated value and a second accumulated value, and generates a first detection signal and a second detection signal according to the first accumulated value and the second accumulated value. The comparator circuitry compares the first detection signal with the second detection signal to output a control signal to the equalizer circuit if the first detection signal is different from the second detection signal, in order to adjust the transfer function.
Low complexity sequence estimator for general packet radio service (GPRS) system
A method and apparatus are provided. The method includes receiving, by a user equipment (UE), a phase shift keying (PSK) modulated signal from a transceiver, derotating the PSK modulated signal, and equalizing the PSK modulated signal using a maximum likelihood sequence estimator (MLSE) based on a first main tap gain (MTG) look up table (LUT) and a first inter-symbol interference (ISI) LUT corresponding to even time samples and a second MTG LUT and a second ISI LUT corresponding to odd time samples.

REDRIVER AND OPERATION METHOD THEREOF
Disclosed is a redriver and an operation method thereof. The redriver includes an equalizer, an auxiliary channel detector, and a control circuit. The equalizer improves the signal quality of a main channel of a signal transmission system. The auxiliary channel detector detects level toggling of an auxiliary channel of the signal transmission system. When an auxiliary channel detection result indicates that the auxiliary channel is at an unconnected level, the control circuit controls the equalizer to enter a disconnection phase to save power. When the auxiliary channel detection result indicates that the auxiliary channel changes from the unconnected level to a connected level, and a command form toggling event occurs, the control circuit controls the equalizer to enter a connected phase from the disconnection phase. The equalizer is turned on in the connected phase.
