System and method for using a multicast service to configure a controlling device

A signature comprised of a plurality of data blocks formatted in accordance with a multicast communications protocol is received from a target appliance. When it is determined that one or more of the plurality of data blocks has been populated with user data, a representation of at least a portion of signature is provided to an analytics engine for processing whereby the user data within the one or more of the plurality of data blocks is replaced with a predicted, original data. The predicted, original data is then usable to provision a controlling device with a command code set for use in communicating commands to the target appliance.

Service Dependent IP Addresses

A system that enables end-user devices that operate within different enterprise networks to exchange data with one another. In particular, the disclosed system uses unique IP addresses that are dedicated solely to supporting a predefined communication service between enterprise computer networks, in order to identify and route each data packet according to the communications service. As part of the communications service, the data packets are transmitted, for example, from a first local service provider network hosting a first enterprise network, through a participating backbone service provider network on the public Internet and based on deterministic routing, and to a second local service provider network hosting a second enterprise network. In handling the data packets in this way, the disclosed system creates an Internet wide-area-network (WAN): the data packets are transmitted over the Internet and conceivably over a large geographic distance between enterprise networks.

Utilizing service tagging for encrypted flow classification

In one embodiment, a device in a network receives domain name system (DNS) information for a domain. The DNS information includes one or more service tags indicative of one or more services offered by the domain. The device detects an encrypted traffic flow associated with the domain. The device identifies a service associated with the encrypted traffic flow based on the one or more service tags. The device prioritizes the encrypted traffic flow based on the identified service associated with the encrypted traffic flow.

This application discloses an application discovery method and apparatus, and a system. A session management function network element receives first information from a first network element, and determines second information based on at least the first information and location information of a terminal device. The session management function network element sends the second information to the first network element. The second information is for obtaining a first IP address corresponding to a first domain name.

Controller with network mode and direct mode

A controller in a wireless system may, in a first mode, communicate directly with a wireless microphone, via a first wireless protocol, in order to control the wireless microphone, and may, in a second mode, communicate using the first wireless protocol with a wireless access point, in order to control or configure the wireless microphone.

SINGLE PAIR ETHERNET SENSOR DEVICE AND SENSOR NETWORK

A sensor device may include an environmental sensor configured to sense an environmental parameter and generate a signal representative thereof, a single pair ethernet (SPE) interface configured to cooperate with an SPE link, and a controller provided in communication with the environmental sensor and the SPE interface. The controller may be configured to receive the signal representative of the sensed environmental parameter and to control the SPE interface to generate at least one ethernet frame including data indicative of the sensed environmental parameter for transmission over the SPE link. The controller may be further configured to automatically configure communication with a remote server over the SPE link via the SPE interface.
