DISTRIBUTED BACKUP OF UNSHIPPED CHARGING DATA RECORDS
A first charging data record (CDR) generating node can receive charging server information and available CDR storage information from a second CDR generating node. The first CDR generating node can detect that the charging server is unavailable to receive CDRs from the first CDR generating node. The first CDR generating node can also determine that a CDR storage area corresponding to the first CDR generating node should not be used to store additional CDRs. The first CDR generating node can also select the second CDR generating node for storing the additional CDRs that are generated by the first CDR generating node. The second CDR generating node can be selected based at least in part on the charging server information and the available CDR storage information. The first CDR generating node can cause at least one CDR to be sent to the second CDR generating node.
Selection of Service Providers for Message Transmission on Online Social Networks
In one embodiment, a method includes identifying a mobile service provider network (SPN) and a geographic location of an online social network user and accessing a service-provider table associated with the identified mobile SPN and with the geographic location. The service-provider table indexes a reliability score and a sampling amount for multiple messaging-service providers in the geographic location. The method further determines, based on the service-provider table, whether any of the messaging-service providers has a sampling amount below a threshold sampling amount and sends messaging traffic via the determined messaging-service provider until the sampling amount is greater than or equal to the threshold sampling amount. The messaging traffic is used to update the reliability score for the messaging-service provider. The method further includes selecting a messaging-service provider based on the updated reliability scores of the messaging-service providers and sending a message to the user via the selected messaging service-provider.
PARALLEL AND SEQUENTIAL EXECUTION OF AUTOMATED ONLINE CHARGING TEST PROCEDURES
Systems and methods are described herein for performing automated testing of online charging systems associated with telecommunications networks. In some embodiments, the systems and methods utilize various components associated with an online charging system, such as an event mediator, to convert data associated with test cases to be simulated by the online charging system (e.g., data from spreadsheets) into various test requests actionable during the online charging system under when simulating the test cases.
SEAMLESS CUSTOMER DATA MOVE BETWEEN SOURCE AND TARGET CHARGING FUNCTION ELEMENTS OF A COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM
A charging system includes a source charging function element of a communications system. The source charging function element includes at least one processing circuit that is operative to process charge events for network charging related to a customer identifier to write customer data indicating the network charging into a source data partition of a global storage system. Based on receiving an event message, the source charging function element determines the customer identifier based on content of the event message and performs a look up in a translation function to obtain a mapping between the customer identifier and at least data partition that includes the source data partition. When the customer identifier is determined to be mapped by the translation function to the source data partition and to a target data partition, the source charging function element communicates with a target charging function element.
MULTI-SERVICES APPLICATION GATEWAY AND SYSTEM EMPLOYING THE SAME
An intelligent gateway device provided at a premise (home or business) for providing and managing application services associated with use and support of a plurality of digital endpoint devices associated with the premises. The device includes a communications and processing infrastructure integrated with a peer and presence messaging based communications protocol for enabling communications between the device and an external support network and between the device and connected digital endpoint devices. A services framework at the gateway device implements the communications and processing infrastructure for enabling service management, service configuration, and authentication of user of services at the intelligent gateway. The framework provides a storage and execution environment for supporting and executing received service logic modules relating to use, management, and support of the digital endpoint devices. Thus, the gateway device provides a network-based services point of presence for a plurality of digital endpoint devices at the premises.
DATA RESILIENCY OF BILLING INFORMATION
Managing transaction data during times of low network connectivity by organizing billing information for prioritized processing during periods of higher network connectivity. During low connectivity events, billing information is organized based, at least in part, on a combination of age and revenue to communicate important billing information upon reconnection.
Online charging method for always on IP connectivity
The invention relates to an online charging method for always on IP connectivity in a communication system, the method comprises a Diameter router receiving an online charging request from a Diameter client, wherein the online charging request includes subscriber information; the Diameter router finding a corresponding online charging system in a subscriber index database based on the subscriber information; sending a successful acknowledge to the Diameter client and generating a ticket file when the corresponding online charging system does not exist in the subscriber index database or the corresponding online charging system is not available, wherein the successful acknowledge includes a dummy quota specified by the Diameter router; and the ticket file processor reading the ticket file based on a scheduled timing and generating a first online charging event request and sending the first online charging event request to the Diameter router when the corresponding online charging system exists in the subscriber index database or the corresponding online charging system is available.
Event management mechanism in 5G systems and methods
Systems and methods for dynamically collecting information regarding network events in a 5G network are disclosed. The method includes locally storing event data initially and implementing post-event collection of the locally stored data when one or more collecting nodes become available.
Systems and methods for detecting network outages
A method for cellular network outage detection including monitoring error rates associated with a network node of a cellular network for a first predetermined time period. The method includes determining a first baseline error rate for the network node based on the plurality of first error rates for the first predetermined time period, and determining a first threshold error rate for the network node based on the first baseline error rate for the network node. The method includes monitoring a plurality of second error rates associated with the network node for a time period subsequent the first predetermined time period, and detecting an excessive error rate of the plurality of second error rates associated with the network node, where the excessive error rate exceeding the first threshold error rate. The method includes, in response to detecting the excessive error rate, automatically executing a predetermined override rule.
Data packet processing method and apparatus
A data packet processing method and apparatus, where a storage apparatus disposed on a network side stores a correspondence between an identifier and data flow characteristic information. When configuring a policy for a data packet including a first identifier, a network-side device requests the storage apparatus for data flow characteristic information corresponding to the first identifier. A policy and charging enforcement function (PCEF) receives a data packet that is sent by a user equipment (UE), matches the data packet against the data flow characteristic information, and when the data packet matches the data flow characteristic information, executes a policy on the data packet according to policy information corresponding to the first identifier.
