Systems and methods notify an individual when the start time of a scheduled conference call is approaching. The systems and methods may also automatically connect the individual to the conference call. The systems and methods may obtain information about one or more scheduled conference calls directly from the individual's electronic calendar. The systems and methods may also receive a request from an individual to be connected to a conference call, and then act to automatically connect the individual to the conference call using information obtained from the individual's electronic calendar.

Methods and apparatus are described for transparently processing a fax transmission by a fax software program in a mobile device. In one embodiment, the fax software program identifies an incoming call at the mobile device. Upon the identification, the program prevents a display screen of the mobile device from outputting an incoming call ringing alert. The program answers the incoming call and analyzes the call to detect whether the answered call is a voice call. Upon detecting that the answered incoming call is a voice call, the program outputs the incoming call ringing alert via the display screen. Otherwise, if the answered incoming call is a fax transmission, the program merges the call with a fax server, such that the fax server receives the fax transmission. Other embodiments are also described and claimed.

There is provided a method for capturing a line after an elapse of a predetermined time, in a case where the line has been disconnected caused by an occurrence of a specific event in which a heavy load signal is input to an input side connecting the line. The control method for controlling a communication apparatus configured to perform a data communication via a line, includes detecting a signal on the line, disconnecting the line based on a level of the detected signal, and capturing the line based on an elapse of a predetermined time after the line has been disconnected.

Methods and apparatus are described for receiving a fax transmission at a mobile phone. In one embodiment, the mobile phone receives an incoming call and answers the incoming call, upon receiving a command from a user of the mobile phone to answer the incoming call. A program on the mobile phone then detects that the incoming call is a fax transmission, and then places an outgoing call to a fax server. The program on the mobile phone then conferences the incoming call with the outgoing call to the fax server, such that the fax server receives the fax transmission. An information processing apparatus includes a detection unit that detects a start of using a voice communication unit in a set period during processing for establishing a connection with another information processing apparatus for performing remote assistance for the information processing apparatus, a display control unit that, when a start of using the voice communication unit is detected, displays a notification screen including a telephone number set as contact information of an assistance source of the remote assistance and an instruction object for instructing to make a phone call to a communication destination corresponding to the telephone number, and a calling unit that, when a phone call to the communication destination is specified via the instruction object in the notification screen, makes a phone call to the communication destination.
