The system and method identify contact information for a first party. The contact information for the first party includes a plurality of communication endpoints of the first party and a plurality of communication applications for the plurality of communication endpoints of the first party. For example, the plurality of communication endpoints may be a home phone and a cell phone of the first party. The plurality of communication applications may be voice, video, text, and/or virtual reality applications of the first party. An electronic communication request is received from the first party to the second party. In response to receiving the electronic communication request from the first party to the second party, a first communication endpoint of the plurality of communication endpoints for the first party and a first communication application of the plurality of communication applications of the first party is selected based on a rule.

A method for providing a composite voice-screen automatic response system (ARS) service, according to one embodiment of the present invention, comprises: a step for receiving, by a server for a multimedia call, a call request message from user equipment; a step for determining whether the server for the multimedia call possesses ARS contents corresponding to a call number of the call request message; a step for transmitting, by the server for the multimedia call, a command for downloading the ARS contents to the user equipment when it is determined that the server for the multimedia call possesses the ARS contents; and a step for transmitting, by the server for the multimedia call, the call request message to the call number, wherein the user equipment can receive an ARS service synchronized with a voice and a screen without installing an application according to each enterprise for providing the ARS service.

A method for text capture with matter association is provided. The method includes, responsive to a user entering one or more telephone numbers of one or more mobile text-enabled devices of other users to engage in a message exchange therebetween, receiving an additional phone number for message capture that uses a Short Message Service (SMS) Application Programming Interface (API) synchronized with a remote message capture device. The method further includes receiving a matter number dynamically specified for the message exchange. The method also includes capturing, by the remote message capture device using the SMS API, message content and metadata for messages of the message exchange. The method additionally includes storing the message content and the metadata associated with the matter number in a searchable remote message repository.

A method of forming unique, private, personal, virtual social networks on a social network system that includes a database storing data relating to corresponding user entities. The method includes: a first user entity sending an invitation to a second user entity, recording in the database the second user entity as a direct contact of the first user entity and determining that third user entities, directly connected to the second user entity, are indirect contacts. A unique, personal, social network formed from direct and indirect contacts is thereby created for each user entity. Each user entity is able to control privacy of its data with respect to other user entities depending on the connection factor to that other entity and/or that other entity's attributes. Each user entity is able to take the role of provider or participant in applications where the provider provides an item or service to the participant.

An apparatus, method, and non-transitory computer readable medium are provided for accessing data on a phone that is inaccessible. The apparatus includes a memory configured to store a plurality of contact profiles in a contact list corresponding to an inaccessible device, and a processor coupled to the memory. The apparatus receives, from an unknown device over a voice connection, an access identifier corresponding to the inaccessible device and a contact identifier associated with a contact profile of the plurality of contact profiles; identifies the contact list based on matching the access identifier with the inaccessible device; determines a contact device of the contact profile in the contact list corresponding to the contact identifier; and connects, over the voice connection, the unknown device to the contact device corresponding to the contact profile.

Methods and systems for using and/or storing identity data associated with a device to direct communications to another device are described herein. A server may store identity data, such as subscriber identity module (SIM) data, associated with a device or user. The SIM data may be used to authenticate and/or register the device or user with a mobile network. Using the SIM data, other devices may use the capabilities of the first device. The server may receive, from another device, a request to access one or more capabilities of the first device. Based on the request, the server may send a request to register the SIM data with a mobile network. After registration of the SIM data with the mobile network, the server may be used to direct communications to the other device.

A plurality of electronic devices can share a single phone number with each other. One of the electronic devices includes a display, a communication circuit, a processor operatively connected to the display and the communication circuit, and a memory operatively connected to the processor and configured to store a plurality of call logs. The method includes, responsive to a user entering telephone numbers of mobile text-enabled devices of other users to engage in a message exchange there among, receiving as a participating telephone number an additional message capturing phone number for a machine attended message capture dedicated smart phone used to perform non-participant message capture that has a message synchronizing control ID common with a remote message capture device. The method further includes receiving a matter number, wherein the message synchronizing control ID enables a message synchronization process to occur in correspondence with message capture between the smart phone and the remote device using the matter number. The method also includes capturing, by the remote device using the message synchronization process applied to the additional message capturing phone number of the smart phone, message content and metadata for messages of the message exchange.
