11572174 · 2023-02-07 · ·

Systems and methods for modifying control over a device in a vehicle are provided. The modification may comprise disabling an ability of a passenger to control the device via one or more passenger interface systems, limiting controls available to the passenger via the one or more passenger interface systems, transferring the ability to control the device to another user using a different user interface system, and/or transferring the ability to control certain functionalities of the device to another user using the different user interface system.

Methods and systems for streaming content on a transportation vehicle

Methods and systems are provided for a transportation vehicle. One method includes caching, by a ground-based caching device, media content provided by a streaming service; pre-fetching, by a server on an aircraft, a subset of the cached media content that is likely to be viewed by passengers on the aircraft, the pre-fetched content stored in a cache on the aircraft; presenting, by a first device on the aircraft, a first subset of the pre-fetched content to a non-subscriber of the media content on a first flight; presenting, by a second device on the aircraft, a second subset of the pre-fetched content to a subscriber of the media content on the first flight; and storing, by the second device, viewing history of the second subset by the subscriber.

AIRCRAFT WIRELESS SPEAKER PAIRING MANAGEMENT WITH MULTIPLE PAIRING TRANSMITTERS

An aircraft includes a video display, first and second wireless pairing transmitters, and a media distribution processor. The video display is associated with an audio content stream and a seating location in the aircraft. The first wireless pairing transmitter is associated with the video display and has a first wireless coverage volume. The second wireless pairing transmitter has a second wireless coverage volume that overlaps the first wireless coverage volume. The media distribution processor is programmed and configured to: associate a wireless speaker device with the seating location; pair the first wireless pairing transmitter with the wireless speaker device in response to associating the wireless speaker device with the seating location; and direct the audio content stream through the first wireless pairing transmitter to the wireless speaker device in response to connecting the first wireless pairing transmitter with the wireless speaker device.

Automated self-test of cabin loudspeakers

A test module for functionally testing an audio device of an aircraft passenger service unit (PSU) is configured to allocate a first operating mode to a first individual audio device of one PSU of a set of PSUs during which, a test tone is emitted. The test module allocates a second operating mode to other audio devices different than the first audio device. In the second operating mode, the test tone emitted by the first audio device is intended to be received. The other audio devices each belong to different PSUs within the set of PSUs. The test module emits the test tone via the first audio device. The test module initiates a functional test of the first audio device. The functional test is based on the test tone received by the other audio devices. The test module may be part of a system and an aircraft.

Systems and methods for dynamically multiplexing requested linear media channels and network data on forward link traffic streams of a communication link to a craft media delivery system are provided. Furthermore, systems and methods for receiving dynamically multiplexed requested linear media channels and network data on forward link traffic streams of a communication link by a craft media delivery system are also provided.

VIRTUAL OPEN SKY IN SUPER FIRST-CLASS SUITES

A super first-class cabin includes a monitor disposed in the ceiling structure, a controller to render images on the monitor, and cameras to capture real-time streaming environmental images and renders them on the monitor. At the passenger's request, or when the passenger reclines, the controller may render a selection of mood affective images, for example to promote sleep if desired. Such mood affective images may be organized into a schedule associated with phases of flight to gently wake the passenger and prepare them for the end of the flight. The monitor may be employed to reduce the effects of flight-base time-disassociation by varying a daylight color scheme over the course of long flights, simulating a day/night routine to align the time of day at the origin of the flight with the time of day at the destination.

LANDING PAGE REDIRECT WITH SYNCHRONIZED MINI-SERVERS
20230164218 · 2023-05-25 ·

Techniques for redirecting a client device from a server to a mini-server are disclosed herein. Initially, the client device establishes a connection with the server. The server provides a landing page to the client device, where the landing page is programmed to include an element that, when selected, redirects the client device away from its connection with the server. In response to a selection of the element, the client device establishes a connection with the mini-server. The mini-server is part of a first local area network (LAN), and, as a result of switching networks, the client device is now a part of a second LAN. The two LANs are connected to one another via a network bridge. The mini-server is able to receive input from the client device and synchronize that input across other mini-servers in the first LAN in order to redundantly store the input.

Distributed data storage for in-vehicle entertainment system

A data storage system for providing entertainment content to terminal devices in a passenger vehicle is provided to comprise: a first group of terminal devices configured to operate as storage nodes of a storage cluster configured to provide the entertainment content to media playback devices disposed in the passenger vehicle, the entertainment content including one or more entertainment programs and the storage nodes configured to store blocks of the one or more entertainment programs; a second group of terminal devices configured to operate as monitor nodes in the storage cluster, the monitor nodes configured to monitor status of the storage nodes; and a host in communication with the first group and the second group of the terminal devices via an in-vehicle network and configured to store metadata for the storage cluster and facilitate delivery of the entertainment content from the first group of terminal devices to the media playback devices.

This application discloses a media stream playing method and apparatus. The method includes: obtaining a first attribute parameter set when detecting that a first passenger views a first media stream played on a first vehicle-mounted screen, where the first attribute parameter set includes an identity of the first passenger and the first vehicle-mounted screen viewed by the first passenger; and when determining that attention of the first passenger is lost from the first vehicle-mounted screen, if determining that a second vehicle-mounted screen that is viewed by a second passenger and that is in a stored second attribute parameter set is the first vehicle-mounted screen, indicating to continue playing the first media stream on the first vehicle-mounted screen, where the second attribute parameter set includes an identity of the second passenger and the second vehicle-mounted screen.
