Selection of a prerecorded media file for superimposing into a video
11558656 · 2023-01-17 · ·

In a method for selecting of a prerecorded media file for superimposing into a video, a video of a scene is displayed on a display device of a mobile electronic device. A location of the scene is determined. A prerecorded video file is selected based at least in part on the location. The prerecorded video file is superimposed over the video, such that the video is partially obscured by the prerecorded video file. The prerecorded video file is played while displaying the video, such that the prerecorded video file and a non-obscured portion of the video are rendered simultaneously.

A method, performed by a first terminal in a video call process between the first terminal and a second terminal, includes sending an image including a target device to a server, receiving device information corresponding to the target device sent by the server, virtualizing an operation interface based on the received device information, and displaying the operation interface on a current video call screen, where the operation interface is an operation interface of a control panel or a remote control of the target device, and displaying, on the current video call screen based on data from the second terminal, one or more operations performed on the operation interface by a user of the second terminal on the second terminal.

ENABLING MEDIA FEATURES PROVIDED ON A FIRST SCREEN DEVICE TO BE PRESENTED ON A SECOND SCREEN DEVICE
20230009446 · 2023-01-12 ·

A first screen device establishes a pairing session between a first screen device and a second screen device. The first screen device presents, in a user interface on the first screen device, a video and one or more media features related to the video. The media features pertain to at least one of a presentation of the video or user feedback about the video. The video is cast from the first screen device onto the second screen device. The first screen device receives, via the user interface, user input indicating a user request to enable presentation of at least one of the media features on the second screen device in connection with the video. In response to the user input, the first screen device causes the at least one of the media features to be presented on the second screen device in connection with the video.

Techniques for receiving non-real time (NRT) data whilst traversing a multi-frequency network boundary

Techniques are described for expanding and/or improving the Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC) 3.0 television protocol in robustly delivering the next generation broadcast television services. In a boundary region between first and second broadcast stations in which a receiver can pick up signals from both stations, a primary tuner presents a demanded service while a secondary tuner scans for duplicate transmissions of the service and tunes to it if found. When the primary tuner loses signal, it tunes to the frequency of the secondary tuner and acquires any missing NRT data recorded from the secondary tuner prior to the handover.

Secondary content insertion in 360-degree video

A secondary content such as an advertisement may be inserted based on users' interests in 360 degree video streaming. Users may have different interests and may watch different areas within a 360 degree video. The information about area(s) of 360 degree scenes that users watch the most may be used to select an ad(s) relevant to their interests. One or more secondary content viewports may be defined within a 360 degree video frame. Secondary content viewport parameter(s) may be tracked. For example, statistics of the user's head orientation for some time leading to tile presentation of the ad(s) may be collected. Secondary content may be determined based on the tracked secondary content viewport parameters).

Transferring playback from a mobile device to a playback device

A network device is configured to (i) play back a media item indicated by a remote playback queue provided by a cloud-based computing system, (ii) receive an indication that a playback device is available for playback, (iii) display a now playing screen including (a) information identifying the media item, and (b) an icon that indicates that the network device is not in a connected state with any other network device, (iv) receive a first input selecting the icon, (v) in response to the first input, display a list of one or more available network devices including the playback device, (vi) receive a second input selecting the playback device from the list (vii) after receiving the second input, update the list to indicate that the playback device is selected for playback of the remote playback queue, and (viii) transfer playback of the remote playback queue from the network device to the playback device.

An apparatus including an interface and a processor. The interface may be configured to receive pixel data generated by a capture device. The processor may be configured to generate video frames in response to the pixel data, perform computer vision operations on the video frames to detect objects, perform a classification of the objects detected based on characteristics of the objects, determine whether the classification of the objects corresponds to a user-defined event and generate encoded video frames from the video frames. The encoded video frames may be communicated to a cloud storage service. The encoded video frames may comprise a first sample of the video frames selected at a first rate when the user-defined event is not detected and a second sample of the video frames selected at a second rate while the user-defined event is detected. The second rate may be greater than the first rate.

Smart interactive media content guide

Methods, apparatuses and media for providing content upon request are provided. A search request for content is received from a user. A first filter is applied to the search request to modify the search request before a search algorithm searches for the content to return in response to the search request. Items of content are determined based on the search request to which the first filter is applied. A second filter is applied to the items of content to determine search results. The search results are provided to the user.

The present disclosure describes specific technical approaches to implementing an arrangement in which two or more individual stories share a common feature or “knot” so as to combine to form a larger overall story, and where the individual stories are presented in different orders to different audiences, with the order of presentation affecting the audience perception of the larger overall story.

Controlling Content Distribution

A computer-implemented method for controlling content distribution includes forwarding information associated with a user to a device operated by the user, the information being configured for use in selecting content from any of multiple content providers for a content distribution to the user. The method includes receiving, in response to the information, an edit of the information forwarded from the device. The edit identifies a first content provider and including a first modification of the content distribution regarding the first content provider. The method includes storing the edit in association with the information such that the first modification is taken into account in the content distribution. The method can be implemented using a computer program product tangibly embodied in a computer-readable storage medium.
