DISTRIBUTED AUTOMATIC MULTICAST ADDRESS ASSIGNMENT DEVICE AND METHOD
A solution is disclosed for providing automatic multicast address assignment and conflict resolution for AV streams multicast over a networked AV system. The solution includes a device for monitoring the system for messages associated with AV streams multicast over the system and implementing a conflict resolution protocol when a conflict of multicast addresses is detected, where the conflict resolution protocol utilizes automatically randomly selecting a preliminary multicast address from a defined range of addresses.
Method for displaying an animation during the starting phase of an electronic device and associated electronic device
A method for displaying an animation by a display chip of an electronic device, which includes a non-volatile memory and a random-access memory. The display chip includes a video output register and a display register. The method includes a first static programming phase including configuring the video output register; writing n images in the memory, n being an integer higher than or equal to two; writing into the memory of a plurality of nodes, such that each node includes the address in the memory of at least one portion of an image, as well as the address of the following node in the memory, the last node including the address in the random-access memory of the first node; and configuring the display register. The method also includes a second phase in which the n images are read by the display chip by the display register, to display the animation.
Method for protecting an electronic control unit
A method for operating an electronic control unit (ECU) includes a normal mode and a protected mode. In the protected mode a new security artifact is stored in a microcontroller. The security artifact is transferred from the microcontroller to a microprocessor, and, after having received the security artifact, the microprocessor uses the security artifact for authenticating a program.
Smart start-up of television
A control method according to one aspect of the technology is for use where a power supply of an apparatus having a first application and a second application is turned off during display of a screen of the second application and remains off, the first application being used to view a program, the second application being different from the first application. The control method includes: in a case where a power button is pressed, turning on the power supply of the apparatus to start simultaneously the second application and to display the screen thereof; and in a case where a channel selection button is pressed, turning on the power supply of the apparatus to start simultaneously the first application and to display an image of the program distributed on a selected channel.
METHOD FOR SELECTING AUDIO OUTPUT DEVICE, AND DISPLAY APPARATUS
Disclosed are a method for selecting an audio output device and a display apparatus. The method includes: in response to a power cutoff command, saving a first device list and performing a first set of operations associated with the power cutoff command; while the display apparatus is in a power off state, receiving a power on command; in response to the power on command, performing a second set of operations associated with a power on process; in response to a first audio output device having connected with the display apparatus, determining whether a first identifier of the first audio output device is same as the identifier of the current sound output device; and in response to the first identifier of the first audio output device being same as the identifier of the current sound output device, taking the first audio output device as the current sound output device.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR ALERTING USERS REGARDING AVAILABILITY OF UNCONSUMED CONTENT
Methods and systems are described for a media guidance application that limits the incentive for authorized users to share content with unauthorized users, while still allowing users to access content virtually anywhere. Specifically, the media guidance application allows an authorized user to receive only a portion of a media asset that he or she is authorized to access on a different device, after a designated time period, and/or when the remaining portion of the media asset is inaccessible.
MULTI-INTERFACE STREAMING MEDIA SYSTEM
A streaming media device includes a printed circuit board hosting components configured to access internet data. An audio/visual connector is linked to the printed circuit board, wherein the audio/visual connector is adapted for connection to an audio/visual device, wherein the audio/visual connector is adapted to operate with a first audio/visual interface having sufficient power to fully operate the printed circuit board and a second audio/visual interface having insufficient power to fully operate the printed circuit board. A power connector is linked to the printed circuit board, wherein the power connector selectively receives power based on the audio/visual connector utilizing one of the first audio/visual interface and the second audio/visual interface.
DISPLAY DEVICE AND METHOD OF OPERATING THE SAME
Provided is a display device including: a wireless communicator comprising wireless communication circuitry, an inputter/outputter comprising input/output circuitry, a display, a memory storing one or more instructions, and a processor configured to execute the one or more instructions stored in the memory, wherein the processor is configured to control the display device to: receive a power on signal through the wireless communicator or the inputter/outputter, display a first screen in response to the power on signal, determine whether a control operation is being performed based on a controller corresponding to a peripheral device by analyzing information about a source image received from the peripheral device through the inputter/outputter while the first screen is displayed, and close the first screen, and control the display to display a second screen including the source image, based on determining that the control operation is being performed based on the controller.
Display device and method for operating same
A display device according to an embodiment of the present invention can comprise: a display unit; an external device interface unit for exchanging information with a set-top box; and a control unit which receives set-top box information from the set-top box by means of the external device interface unit, determines whether or not a high definition multimedia interface-consumer electronics control (HDMI-CEC) function is turned on on the basis of the received set-top box information, and automatically turns on an HDMI-CEC function of the display device if the HDMI-CEC function is turned on.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DISPLAYING A THREE-DIMENSIONAL IMAGE
A method or system can be configured to receive content associated with a scene; optionally, format the content as a three-dimensional image; render the content or three-dimensional image in a display-readable format; optionally, authenticate the display; and display the formatted content such that the formatted content is perceivable as three-dimensional for one or more viewers.
