Device and method of displaying images
11553157 · 2023-01-10 · ·

This application relates to an image display device and method. In one aspect, the image display device includes a communication interface, a user interface, a memory and a processor. The processor may receive, from a first terminal through the communication interface, a stream including a plurality of images captured by the first terminal. The processor may also determine whether the received stream includes a first image in which no face is detected among the plurality of images. The processor may further, in response to determining that the received stream includes the first image, perform image processing on the first image to generate a second image. The processor may further display, through the user interface, the plurality of images by replacing the first image with the second image.

Displays with partial transparent areas

A display having an area of non-transparent pixels, an area of transparent pixels, a camera positioned behind the transparent pixels to capture an image when light passes through the transparent pixels, and a display controller for driving the non-transparent pixels at a first brightness and driving the transparent pixels at a second brightness greater than the first brightness during image capture by the camera.

Correcting engagement of a user in a video conference

Correcting engagement of a user in a video conference includes: receiving video data of a user of a participant device of a video conference; determining that one or more visual characteristics of the video data satisfy one or more criteria; and displaying, by the participant device, a visual overlay in response to the one or more criteria being satisfied.

ADJUSTING PARTICIPANT GAZE IN VIDEO CONFERENCES

Methods and systems for applying gaze adjustment techniques to participants in a video conference are disclosed. Some examples may include: receiving, at computing system, image adjustment information associated with a video stream including images of a first participant, identifying, for a display layout of a communication application, a location displaying the images of the first participant, determining, based on the received image adjustment information, a location displaying images of a second participant for the display layout, the received image adjustment information indicating that an eye gaze of the first participant being directed toward the second participant, computing an eye gaze direction of the first participant based on the location displaying images of the second participant, generating gaze-adjusted images based on the desired eye gaze direction of the first participant and replacing the images within the video stream with the gaze-adjusted images.

A window member including a base substrate and a light shielding layer including a first light shielding pattern disposed in a first area of the base substrate and a second light shielding pattern disposed in a second area of the base substrate while being spaced apart from the first light shielding pattern and providing a signal transmission area at an inner side thereof. The second light shielding pattern includes an edge having a plurality of curved portions on a plane. This arrangement reduces an area of the light shielding pattern adjacent to the signal transmission area of the window member.

[Object] Provided is electronic equipment that prevents degradation of image quality of captured images and display quality of a display section.

[Solving Means] The electronic equipment includes a display section, an imaging section disposed opposite to a display surface of the display section, and a control section that synchronizes a display timing of the display section with an imaging timing of the imaging section such that the imaging section performs imaging at a timing when the display section does not perform displaying.

VIDEOCONFERENCING SYSTEM ALLOWING A PARALLAX EFFECT ASSOCIATED WITH THE DIRECTION OF THE GAZE OF A USER TO BE DECREASED

The invention relates to a videoconferencing system 1, comprising: a display screen 10, for displaying an image I.sub.e(t.sub.i) containing N images I.sub.int.sup.(k)(t.sub.i); a camera 20, for acquiring an image I.sub.c(t.sub.j); a single-pixel-imager-employing optical device suitable for determining N images I.sub.co.sup.(k)(t.sub.j) on the basis of sub-matrices SM.sub.imp.sup.(k)(t.sub.j) comprising: an optical source 31, suitable for irradiating an ocular portion P.sub.o(t.sub.j) of the face of the user; a matrix of single-pixel imagers that are suitable for reconstructing a correction image I.sub.co.sup.(k)(t.sub.j) on the basis of the light beam reflected by the ocular portion P.sub.o(t.sub.j); a processing unit 40, suitable for: determining, in each image I.sub.int.sup.(k)(t.sub.i) of the image I.sub.e(t.sub.i), a target point P.sub.c.sup.(k)(t.sub.j), then selecting N sub-matrices SM.sub.imp.sup.(k)(t.sub.j) each centred on a target point P.sub.c.sup.(k)(t.sub.j); correcting the image I.sub.c(t.sub.j), by replacing a region of the image P.sub.c(t.sub.j) representing the ocular portion P.sub.o(t.sub.j) with the N images I.sub.co.sup.(k)(t.sub.j).

DISPLAY WITH INTEGRATED CAMERA
20220368835 · 2022-11-17 ·

The present invention provides an interactive display screen integrated with an image capture device optimized to capture the user, the user's correct gaze, and information inputted on or through the interactive display screen. The present invention does not require extraneous video production equipment or technical expertise to operate while providing a compact and easily transportable system. The display screen is transparent such as an organic light emitting diode (OLED) display, with an optional touchscreen. The display screen may display digital photos or other multimedia objects that a user can annotate or otherwise manipulate. The device captures the displayed multimedia information and combines it with a video stream captured from the image capture device. The present invention also implements a display screen with a display cycle that is offset by 180 degrees from the capture cycle of the image capture device.

Webcam with improved user engagement and display visibility

A webcam apparatus, having a display surface characterized by a display area, includes an image capture device characterized by an optical axis and a first footprint in a plane perpendicular to the optical axis; and an energy transfer device with a first portion coupled to the image capture device; and a second portion allowing attachment to an edge of a display screen. When attached, the image capture device and the first portion lie against and in contact with the display surface, or in a proximate and parallel plane. An optical axis characterizing the image capture device is aligned with a gaze direction of a user addressing a viewer via the captured images. The first portion of the energy transfer device is transparent at optical wavelengths, and has a second footprint in the plane perpendicular to the optical axis. The first and second footprints are small relative to the display area.
