Contact hearing systems, apparatus and methods
The present invention is directed to a hearing aid which includes a lateral ear canal assembly and a medial ear canal assembly. In embodiments of the invention the medial ear canal assembly may include smart circuitry adapted to control parameters and outputs of the medial ear canal assembly. In embodiments of the invention various methods and circuitry are described, wherein the methods and circuitry are adapted to improve the performance and efficiency of the hearing aid.
EAR TIP INCLUDING FLANGE MADE OF SILICONE FOAM MATERIAL
Disclosed herein is an ear tip having a flange made of silicone foam, the ear tip including a central core and a flange surrounding the core. The flange is made of silicone foam, and the core is made of a material harder than the silicone foam. Before the silicone is molded, attachable films or tapes may be attached to the top and bottom surfaces of the mesh, thereby preventing burrs generated during the molding of silicone from adhering to the mesh.
Open fit canal hearing device
A hearing aid device adapted for use within the ear canal and of partially exposed in the canal types. This aid allows an air gap to substantially surround the hearing aid shell and air passages which communicate with the inner ear minimizing occlusion sensations and providing the user with an enhanced natural hearing experience. An aspect of this device is the provision of air passages in the mounting insert which securely positions the hearing aid shell in the wearer's canal. These passages are designed to stay open after insertion of the aid in the ear canal. In use, unamplified sound from the outside passes around the hearing aid shell, through the air passages in the mounting insert blending with the amplified sound emanating from the receiver. The area of air passages in the mounting insert can be tailored by the technician adapting to the hearing loss characteristics of the user.
Contact hearing device and retention structure materials
Hearing aid devices, methods of manufacture, methods of use, and kits are provided. In certain aspects, the hearing aid devices comprise an apparatus having a transducer and a retention structure comprising a shape profile corresponding to a tissue of the user, and a layer of elastomer.
IMPLEMENT TO BE WORN ON OUTER EAR
A ready-made device attachable to an outer ear achieving excellent feeling of attachment and high stability is provided. The device attachable to an outer ear according to this invention includes an inserting part of a tubular shape to be inserted into an external auditory canal and a setting part to be set in a cavity of concha, and the inserting part and the setting part are disposed on an imaginary spherical surface, and the inserting part is rotatable around a longitudinal axis thereof inside the external auditory canal. Since the setting part is arranged on the same imaginary spherical surface as the inserting part, the setting part is disposed along an inner wall of a cavity of concha in a state where the inserting part is inside the external auditory canal.
Smart relaxation masks with wired earpieces
A relaxation mask includes: a main body that defines a pair of eye cavities; wiring; an earpiece that is coupled to the main body via the wiring; and a spring configured to bias the earpiece towards the main body.
Earpiece
The present disclosure relates to an earpiece for an ear. The ear comprises a concha cavity at least partially delimited by a concha floor, a concha side wall and a concha ceiling. The earpiece comprises a peripheral skirt comprising a positioning skirt portion which in turn comprises an outer skirt surface and an inner skirt surface, wherein a transition from the outer skirt surface to the inner skirt surface occurs at a skirt edge. The skirt edge extends at least partially circumferentially around a central axis of the earpiece, wherein the earpiece is adapted to be moved to a use position, at least partially within the concha cavity, in a direction parallel to the central axis, during insertion of the earpiece into the ear. When the peripheral skirt is in a non-influenced condition, at least a portion of the inner skirt surface faces the central axis.
Earpiece
An earpiece is provided. The earpiece can deform flexibly so as to follow the earhole when in use, and the earpiece can be manufactured easily. An earpiece includes an earpiece body and a filler filled in the earpiece body. The earpiece body has a container-like base member formed of a rubber-like elastic diaphragm that is shaped like a container and has an opening portion. The earpiece body also has a lid member that seals the opening portion liquid-tightly. The filler is flowable at room temperature.
The area of air passages in the mounting insert can be tailored by the technician adapting to the bearing loss characteristics of the user.
EAR-WEARABLE HEARING DEVICE
An ear-worn electronic device comprises a housing, electronic circuitry, a power source, a microphone, and a receiver or speaker. The housing comprises a nozzle dimensioned for deployment within at least a portion of an ear canal. The nozzle comprises a distal portion, a proximal portion, a cavity within the nozzle, and a terminus surface at the distal portion comprising a sound port through which sound can pass out of the nozzle. The nozzle comprises an acoustical vent arrangement comprising a proximal port provided at the proximal portion, a plurality of distal ports provided at the terminus surface, and at least a portion of the nozzle cavity in fluid communication with the proximal port and the distal ports. Each of the distal ports has a volume smaller than that of the proximal port, and a volume of the proximal port is substantially equal to that of the distal ports cumulatively.
