The composite structure includes a body that includes an array of intersecting walls that form a plurality of channels extending in an axial direction through the body such that adjacent channels are located on opposite sides of each wall. A composite material of the body includes a first phase of a porous glass or ceramic containing material. The first phase includes an internal interconnected porosity. A second phase of an electrically conductive material is included that is a continuous, three-dimensional, interconnected, electrically conductive phase at least partially filling the internal interconnected porosity of the first phase, which creates an electrical path through at least some of the walls in a lateral direction perpendicular to the axial direction between the opposite sides of the walls.
COMPOSITE STRUCTURES, HEATER APPARATUS, FAST LIGHT-OFF EXHAUST AFTERTREATMENT SYSTEMS, AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURING AND USING SAME
A composite structure, exhaust aftertreatment system, and method of manufacture. The composite structure includes a body that includes an array of intersecting walls that form a plurality of channels extending in an axial direction through the body such that adjacent channels are located on opposite sides of each wall. A composite material of the body includes a first phase of a porous glass or ceramic containing material. The first phase includes an internal interconnected porosity. A second phase of an electrically conductive material is included that is a continuous, three-dimensional, interconnected, electrically conductive phase at least partially filling the internal interconnected porosity of the first phase, which creates an electrical path through at least some of the walls in a lateral direction perpendicular to the axial direction between the opposite sides of the walls.

Provided is an electrically heated catalytic converter including at least a conductive substrate and an electrode member that is fixed to the substrate, in which a protective film is formed on a surface of at least a portion of the electrode member. In the electrically heated catalytic converter, at least a portion of the protective film is formed of Al.sub.2O.sub.3, SiO.sub.2, a composite material of Al.sub.2O.sub.3 and SiO.sub.2, or a composite oxide including Al.sub.2O.sub.3, SiO.sub.2, or a composite material of Al.sub.2O.sub.3 and SiO.sub.2 as a major component, the protective film has an amorphous structure or a partially crystalline glass structure having a crystallization rate of 30 vol % or lower with respect to the entire portion of the protective film, and a thickness of the protective film is in a range of 100 nm to 2 μm.

A non-contact heat-not-burn heating device includes a ceramic heating element, a smoking product bearing assembly and a sealing sleeve; the sealing sleeve is arranged in the hollow mode to sleeve the ceramic heating element and the smoking product bearing assembly inside, and the ceramic heating element and the smoking product bearing assembly are mutually separated. The ceramic heating element includes a heating body and a heating circuit, the heating body is cylindrical and internally provided with a porous channel, and the heating circuit is arranged on the heating body to heat the air passing through the porous channel. The smoking product bearing assembly includes a ceramic tube and a blocking piece; a cavity defined by the ceramic tube is suitable for placing a smoking product, and the blocking piece is connected to the ceramic tube and adjacent to the ceramic heating element to limit the position of the smoking product.
AIR-HEATING TYPE HEAT NOT BURN HEATING DEVICE, CERAMIC HEATING ELEMENT AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREOF
An air-heating type heat not burn heating device, a ceramic heating element and a preparation method thereof are provided. The ceramic heating element includes a honeycomb ceramic body and a heating printed circuit. Porous channels are arranged in the honeycomb ceramic body, and the porous channels are circular holes or polygonal holes. The heating printed circuit is arranged around an outer surface of the honeycomb ceramic body to heat the air passing through the porous channels. According to the ceramic heating element, the surface made of high purity alumina honeycomb ceramic has high compactness, it is able to effectively prevent absorption of smoke dust particles, thus to effectively preventing odd smell; the high-purity alumina honeycomb ceramic has good thermal conductivity, with a thermal conductivity of 33 W/mk; the wall thickness and pore diameter in the honeycomb ceramic structure are both very small, and the thermal conductivity is extremely excellent.
HEAT RECOVERY DEVICE AND NON-CONTACT AIR-HEATING TYPE HEAT-NOT-BURN HEATING DEVICE WITH THE HEAT RECOVERY DEVICE
A heat recovery device includes an alumina ceramic tube body, and the alumina ceramic tube body defines a cavity suitable for placing a heating component; a first group of honeycomb porous channels is arranged inside the side wall of the alumina ceramic tube body and the first group of honeycomb porous channels divides the alumina ceramic tube body into an outer wall and an inner wall. The side wall of the alumina ceramic tube body adopts a unique honeycomb porous structure; when the heating component placed in the defined cavity heats a smoking product, the heat that does not act on the smoking product will transfer heat to the alumina ceramic tube body; due to the high thermal conductivity of high-purity alumina ceramics used in the alumina ceramic tube body, the alumina ceramic tube body will be quickly heated, and then the air in the porous channels will be heated.

An electrically heated support according to the present invention includes: a pillar shaped honeycomb structure, the honeycomb structure including an outer peripheral wall and a partition wall, the partition wall defining a plurality of cells, each of the cells penetrating from one end face to other end face to form a flow path; and a pair of electrode terminals provided on a surface of the outer peripheral wall. In a cross section of the honeycomb structure, the honeycomb structure includes: a plurality of first slits arranged, the first slits being configured to define an energizing path; and a least one second slit located in the energizing path, the second slit extending in a different direction from that of the first slits. A length of the energizing path from one electrode terminal to the other electrode terminal is longer than a diameter of the honeycomb structure.
HONEYCOMB STRUCTURE, AND MANUFACTURING METHOD OF THE SAME
The honeycomb structure includes a pillar-shaped honeycomb structure body having porous partition walls 1 defining a plurality of cells and a circumferential wall, and a pair of electrode members disposed on the side of a side surface of the honeycomb structure body. The pair of electrode members contain metal silicon and boron, at least a part of the electrode member is made of a composite material including, as a main component, silicon containing 100 to 10000 ppm of boron in silicon. In the composite material which is comprised the electrode member, a volume ratio of the silicon containing 100 to 10000 ppm of the boron in the composite material is 70 volume % or more. An electric resistivity of the electrode member made of the composite material is from 20 μΩcm to 0.1 Ωcm.
HEATER AND HONEYCOMB STRUCTURE INCLUDING HEATER
A heater includes: a plate-like first heater substrate; an electrical heating wire that is provided on a first surface of the first heater substrate in a parallel circuit; electrodes that are connected to the electrical heating wire to allow current to flow in the electrical heating wire; and a plate-like cover substrate that covers the first surface of the first heater substrate, the electrical heating wire, and the electrodes with a second surface thereof. The electrical heating wire of the heater generates heat, so that the amount of heat is supplied. A honeycomb structure includes at least one heater that is provided so as to surround an outer wall thereof.
