AUTOMATED ASSEMBLY AND MOUNTING OF SOLAR CELLS ON SPACE PANELS
The present disclosure provides methods of fabricating a multijunction solar cell panel in which one or more of the steps are performed using an automated process. In some embodiments, the automated process uses machine vision.
WEARABLE POWER MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
A wearable power management system includes: a bottom coating layer; a bottom center layer disposed above the bottom coating layer; a circuit layer disposed above the bottom center layer; a top center layer disposed above the circuit layer, and a top coating layer disposed above the top center layer. The bottom center layer and the top center layer are made of an ultra-low Young's modulus material. The Young's modulus of the bottom coating layer and the top coating layer is greater than the Young's modulus of the bottom center layer and the top center layer. The circuit layer includes a device layer and a connection layer disposed above the device layer.
RELIABLE INTERCONNECTION OF SOLAR CELLS
The present disclosure provides interconnect elements and methods of using interconnect elements. In one embodiment, the interconnect element includes: a first end including at least three members, each member having a pair of parallel gap apertures for mounting an adjoining first component; a second opposing end including at least two members, each member having a pair of parallel gap apertures for mounting an adjoining second component; and one or more interconnect connecting portions to attach the first end of the interconnect element to the second end of the interconnect element.
SOLAR CELL PANEL
A plurality of solar cell assembly series 9 of a solar cell panel are so arranged that any two adjacent solar cells in the plurality of solar cell assembly series 9 have a potential difference which does not exceed V volts which is a maximum output voltage of the plurality of solar cell assembly series 9. Electric discharges between any two adjacent solar cells can be prevented from occurring. Even when the output voltage of a solar cell module changes according to control by a power control circuit, electric discharges can be prevented from occurring between solar cell modules in the solar cell array in which any two adjacent solar cells in the plurality of solar cell assembly series 9 always have a potential difference which does not exceed V volts which is the maximum output voltage of the plurality of solar cell assembly series 9. In addition, the solar cell modules can be constructed of a combination of solar cell series patterns having line symmetry. In this case, while electric discharges can be prevented from occurring between any solar cells, the magnetic field caused by the solar cell circuitry can be reduced.
POWER GENERATION MODULE AND WIRING SUBSTRATE
This power generation module includes: a power generating portion (30) including a power generating element (19); and a wiring substrate. The wiring substrate includes: a reinforcement plate; and a flexible printed circuit (79) provided above the reinforcement plate. The flexible printed circuit (79) has: an FPC land portion (70) configured to have the power generating portion (30) mounted thereto; and a FPC wire portion (73) connected to the FPC land portion (70). The width of the FPC wire portion (73) is smaller than the width of the FPC land portion (70).
POWER GENERATION CIRCUIT UNIT
This power generation circuit unit includes a wiring substrate and a plurality of power generating elements mounted to the wiring substrate. The wiring substrate includes: a first substrate (32E) and a second substrate (32F) to each of which the power generating element is mounted; and a coupling portion (33L) configured to couple the first substrate (32E) and the second substrate (32F) together. The first substrate (32E) can be disposed at at least two positions of: a first position separated from the second substrate (32F) by a first distance; and a second position separated from the second substrate (32F) by a second distance being greater than the first distance. The coupling portion (33L) has an FPC (flexible printed circuits). In a state where the first substrate is disposed at the second position, at least a part of the coupling portion (33L) is twisted.
Interconnect processing assembly for connecting solar cells
A solar cell interconnect processing assembly includes a stack of interconnects, a positioning head, and a control system. The positioning head picks up an interconnect from the stack of interconnects at a first location, moves the interconnect from the first location to a second location, heats the interconnect while moving the interconnect from the first location to the second location, and places the interconnect over two adjacent solar cells at the second location. The control system controls a temperature at which the interconnect is heated and controls movement of the positioning head.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING PHOTOVOLTAIC MODULE
Disclosed is a method for manufacturing a photovoltaic module including forming a solar cell assembly by connecting a plurality of solar cells in an alignment direction in series, forming a plurality of solar cell units by cutting the solar cell assembly along a cutting line in a direction being different from the alignment direction, and disposing the plurality of solar cell units in an encapsulation member such that angles defined by a height direction of the encapsulation member and upper surfaces of the solar cell units are 30 degrees to 90 degrees.
Via structures for solar cell interconnection in solar module
System and method of providing a photovoltaic (PV) cell with a complex via structure in the substrate that has a primary via for containing a conductive material and an overflow capture region for capturing an overflow of the conductive material from the primary via. The conductive filling in the primary via may serve as an electrical contact between the PV cell and another PV cell. The overflow capture region includes one or more recesses formed on the substrate back surface. When the conductive material overflows from the primary via, the one or more recesses can capture and confine the overflow within the boundary of the complex via structure. A recess may be a rectangular or circular trench proximate to or overlaying the primary via. The recesses may also be depressions formed by roughening the substrate back surface.
RESIN-CONTAINING SOLAR CELL MODULE
A solar cell module includes solar cells. encapsulants are layered on surfaces of the solar cells. A glass substrate is layered on the encapsulants. The solar cell module further includes an epoxy resin-containing member. Each encapsulant includes the ultraviolet ray-absorbing member. The ultraviolet ray-absorbing member sets the transmittance to 1% or less at the wavelengths ranging from 300 to 360 nm.
