The present invention relates generally to the field of waste processing. The method comprises separating waste into at least two parts, comprising: (i) mainly food waste (fines) and (ii) mainly paper and other recyclable material (overs). The overs are pulped and washed to obtain a cellulose-rich biomass and the fines are optionally processed separately to recover a cellulose-rich biomass and the cellulose-rich biomass from both the fines and the overs may be combined.

Thermal recovery or cleaning of sand

In the disclosed solution sand to be cleaned is thermally cleaned by rotating the sand being cleaned in a large oven (1) by rotating the oven (1). Before cleaning, the sand may be pre-processed by crushing any lumps and cleaning the sand fraction by magnetic separation. Preprocessed sand to be cleaned and heat energy are fed (5) into the rotating oven. The oven (1) is set slightly inclined so that a second end of the oven (1) is lower than a first end. The inclination and rotating speed of the oven (1) as well as the feed amount of sand are adjusted, whereby the advancing speed of the sand may be adjusted, as well as the ratio of the sand being cleaned to the volume of the oven (1) kept as desired. The temperature of the oven (1) is monitored at the coldest area of the oven, which is substantially at the second end of the oven. The temperature of the oven (1) is adjusted by adjusting the amount of heat energy fed in. By means of temperature monitoring and knowing the advancing speed of the sand, it is also possible to determine the average temperature of the sand and adjust it as desired by adjusting the supplied heat energy. Finally, the cleaned sand is let run (12) from the second end of the oven (1).

The present invention relates to a method for gasification of carbon-containing materials including biohazard wastes, and more specifically, to a method for gasification of carbon-containing materials which allows an increase in carbon efficiency and a reduction in carbon dioxide emission, comprising the steps of: biohazard wastes grinding and sterilization, mix with carbon-containing materials for the gasification; and catalytic production of diesel fuel. A system having a movable platform including: material preparation block, gasification and catalytic of diesel fuel production reactors which are structurally and functionally integrated. In the practice of the process, a mixture of carbon-containing materials, a compressed air feed and process steam is fed to the gasifier to produce a synthesis gas. The synthesis gas is fed to the Fischer-Tropsch reactor where it is catalytically reacted to produce heavy hydrocarbons. The outlet from the Fischer-Tropsch reactor is separated into water, a low heating value tail gas, and the desired hydrocarbon liquid product. The water is pressurized and heated to generate process steam. The system further includes a plurality of heat exchangers that enable heat to be recovered from the outlet of the gasifier. The recovered heat is used to make the process steam as well as to preheat the hydrocarbon mix before it is fed to the gasifier and preheat the synthesis gas before it is fed to the Fischer-Tropsch reactor. The method of the present invention greatly increases carbon efficiency and reduces the generation of carbon dioxide.

A device for converting harmful waste products into environmentally friendly discharge is provided. The discharge, as a result of the waste destruction process, meets or exceeds the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) standards. The device includes a waste disposal chamber where a crucible is positioned. The crucible is configured to retain a removable basket that is heated via induction heating. The waste residing within the removable basket is then vaporized and ionized within a vacuum to form a waste gas that is drawn through an accelerated jet of thermal plasma via vacuum suction. Once the waste gas passes through the plasma, it passes through a discharge duct where it is condensed by a heat exchanger and exhausted into the environment surrounding the device.
