Power management for network device line modules
A line module for use in a network device a plurality of circuits; and a power module comprising at least one circuit, wherein the power module is connected to the plurality of circuits and a Power Distribution Unit (PDU), and the at least one circuit of the power module is configured to shut down one or more of the plurality of circuits until a current threshold is no longer exceeded by a current drawn from a power feed connected to the first PDU.
Ensuring safe servicing in a low-voltage network of the electric power distribution system
To ensure safety of people needing to service a low-voltage network of an electric power distribution system, dwellings being connected to this network may include autonomous units for producing electricity, thus generating voltage and endangering the people servicing the work. Data are obtained from consumption records from the meter of each dwelling, in regular time intervals, and meteorological data are also obtained in the geographical area of these dwellings, in order to identify at least some weather conditions conducive to the production of energy by autonomous units. A model is then applied for detecting, based on the first and second data, a coincidence between periods of lower consumption measured by a meter and weather conditions conducive to electricity production by autonomous units during these periods. Therefore, information on the presence of autonomous units in the dwelling can be deduced and given to people before their servicing.
Photovoltaic disconnect device for storage integration
The present disclosure provides a photovoltaic (PV) disconnect device used in an electrical system. The electrical system includes an energy control system electrically coupled to a utility grid. The electrical system includes a PV power generation system electrically coupled to the energy control system. The electrical system includes an energy storage system electrically coupled to the energy control system. The PV disconnect device is electrically coupled to the PV power generation system and the energy control system. The PV disconnect device electrically disconnects the PV power generation system from the energy control system.
Power management for network device line modules
A line module for use in a network device includes a plurality of circuits; and a power module connected to the plurality of circuits, and to a first Power Distribution Unit (PDU) and a second PDU, wherein the first PDU and the second PDU provide power distribution by different feeds, wherein the power module is configured to initiate a shutdown procedure when one or more of i) a current drawn from any feed equals or exceeds a first current threshold, and ii) an aggregate current drawn from all feeds equal or exceeds a second current threshold.
POWER MANAGEMENT APPARATUS, POWER MANAGEMENT METHOD AND PROGRAM
Disclosed is a power management device including a monitoring unit configured to monitor power usage statuses of a plurality of sites individually, a determination unit configured to determine whether to supply the surplus power to a second site of the plurality of sites when the monitoring unit detects that surplus power is generated in a first site of the plurality of sites in accordance with a prediction of a power transmission loss between the first site and the second site, and a site control unit configured to instruct the first site to supply the surplus power to the second site when the determination unit determines that the surplus power is to be supplied to the second site.
Building and building cluster energy management and optimization system and method
Disclosed are various embodiments for optimizing energy management. A quantity of renewable power that will be generated by renewable energy generation sources can be forecasted. The energy demand for a building or a cluster of buildings can be forecasted. A pricing model for buying energy from a grid can be determined. A quantity of energy to import from the grid or export to the grid can be scheduled based on the quantity of renewable energy forecasted and the state of charge or health of battery energy storage system, current and future operations of building HVAC, lighting and plug loads system, the forecasted energy demand for the building, and the pricing of the energy from the grid.
Inverter power source load dependent frequency control and load shedding
A method and apparatus is described for conveying the amount of loading of a power source to a load control device by controlling the frequency of the AC power output from that power source in a manner that controlled frequency represents the loading. At a different location in the power system, the frequency is measured and the corresponding loading of the power source is used to prevent or alleviate a power source overload.
REGION ENERGY MANAGEMENT DEVICE AND REGION ENERGY MANAGEMENT METHOD
This regional energy management device calculates the power interchange between consumers, on the basis of: storage battery level distribution indicating the relationship between storage battery levels and the position of storage batteries in a region at each time; excess or shortages of power for each consumer at each time, if a consumer has implemented a power supply equipment operation plan for fulfilling a consumer target index for that consumer; and an overall regional target index.
FREQUENCY BALANCING BY POWER SUPPLY UNITS
A method for providing frequency balancing in a power network grid by an RBS of a radio communication network. The RBS includes one or more power supply units, PSUs, connected to the power network grid. The method includes detecting a deviation of a power network grid frequency measured in a PSU of the one or more PSUs, the power network grid frequency is measured upstream of a power factor correction, PFC, unit of the PSU, deactivating the one or more PSU in response to the detected deviation, determining one or more further PSU to be deactivated based on the detected deviation, the RBS is in a first frequency containment reserve, FCR, zone and the one or more further PSU are in a second FCR zone, other than the first FCR zone, and sending a deactivation indication to the determined one or more further PSU.
Photovoltaic grid capacity sensor
In one aspect, a method to determine a capacity of a microgrid includes applying a current test load to the microgrid and measuring a current through an energy storage device, the current indicating a charging status of the energy storage device based on a current load being applied to the microgrid through activated power outlets being served by the microgrid and the current test load, the energy storage device being integrated with the microgrid. The method also includes, responsive to a determination that the measured current based on the current load being applied to the microgrid and the current test load indicates that the energy storage device is discharging, determining the capacity of the microgrid, wherein the capacity is the current load being applied to the microgrid through activated power outlets and a test load applied to the microgrid immediately preceding the current test load.
