Real-time validation of distributed energy resource device commitments
A distributed energy resource (DER) device is coupled to a utility meter in a “behind-the-meter” configuration. The utility meter analyzes a commitment generated by the DER device to determine a specific operation performed by the DER device at a particular time. The utility meter analyzes metrology data to identify an “event” associated with the particular time and then attempts to map the identified event back to the DER device based on a library of events associated with different DER devices. The utility meter also attempts to map the identified event to the specific operation set forth in the commitment. If the utility meter can successfully map the identified event to both the DER device and to the specific operation set forth in the commitment, then the utility meter generates a validated commitment. The validated commitment can be used to facilitate an energy market settlement process.
TRANSACTION HARMONY DEGREE-BASED METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR TRANSACTION MATCHING BETWEEN POWER GRID AND BUILDING ENERGY
A transaction harmony degree-based method and system for transaction matching between a power grid and building energy. The method includes: obtaining a transaction harmony degree of a historical transaction cycle; sending, by using a blockchain, the transaction harmony degree to a corresponding building energy user, and sending a maximum compensated electricity price and an expected compensated electricity price in peak-valley regulation to all building energy users; determining, by each building energy user, a transaction-based compensated electricity price in the peak-valley regulation based on the received transaction harmony degree and the received maximum compensated electricity price and expected compensated electricity price in the peak-valley regulation, and feeding back the transaction-based compensated electricity price in the peak-valley regulation to a power grid; and determining, by the power grid, a building energy user that successfully performs transaction matching with the power grid.
Building and building cluster energy management and optimization system and method
Disclosed are various embodiments for optimizing energy management. A quantity of renewable power that will be generated by renewable energy generation sources can be forecasted. The energy demand for a building or a cluster of buildings can be forecasted. A pricing model for buying energy from a grid can be determined. A quantity of energy to import from the grid or export to the grid can be scheduled based on the quantity of renewable energy forecasted and the state of charge or health of battery energy storage system, current and future operations of building HVAC, lighting and plug loads system, the forecasted energy demand for the building, and the pricing of the energy from the grid.
Hybrid vehicle and method for controlling hybrid vehicle
An ECU performs a process including: when a vehicle establishes a Ready-On state, selecting a CD mode; when discharging power is uncompleted and a scheduled time to return the vehicle is a time within a discharging period, setting a second target SOC as a mode switching value; and when the vehicle's power storage device has an SOC reaching the mode switching value and a surcharge imposed on a rental fee is unaccepted, switching the current control mode from the CD mode to a CS mode.
Assessment of energy consumption of computer networks and use thereof
An article of manufacture, a machine, process for using the articles and machines, processes for making the articles and machines, and products produced by the process of making, along with necessary intermediates, directed to assessing the energy consumption of networks, typically computer networks, and/or applications of assessments made thereby. Industrial applicability is representatively directed to energy consumption/conservation and efficiency, such as in networks, along with control and implementation therefrom, as well as in networking, control systems communications and related systems, receiver systems, and components used in assessing and carrying out the same.
Regulating charging and discharging of an energy storage device as part of an electrical power distribution network
A system and a method for regulating charging and discharging of an energy storage device as part of an electrical power distribution network is described. The invention is a smart control algorithm for a bi-directional switch in which an energy storage device, such as a battery set, is charged when electricity prices are low and discharged when electricity prices are high. The invention uses two different types of pricing data: forecasted price data and real-time price data. The forecasted price data is used to set a threshold. When the real-time price data of electricity exceeds this threshold, the energy storage device is set to discharge and send power to the grid. Otherwise the energy storage device is set to charge. The threshold is set periodically, typically in 30 minute to several hour intervals to capture the latest data.
Method for implementing power delivery transaction for potential electrical output of integrated renewable energy source and energy storage system facility
Methods for implementing power delivery transactions between a buyer and a seller of electrical energy supplied to an electrical grid by an integrated renewable energy source (RES) and energy storage system (ESS) of a RES-ESS facility are provided. Estimated total potential output of the RES is compared to a point of grid interconnect (POGI) limit to identify potential RES overgeneration, and the buyer is charged if potential RES overgeneration is less than potential overgeneration during one or more retrospective time windows. The method provides a basis for the RES-ESS facility owner to be paid for an estimated amount of energy that did not get stored as a result of a grid operator not fully discharging an ESS prior to the start of a new day.
Systems and methods for advanced energy settlements, network-based messaging, and applications supporting the same on a blockchain platform
Systems and methods for financial settlement of transactions within an electric power grid network are disclosed. A multiplicity of active grid elements are constructed and configured for electric connection and network-based communication over a blockchain-based platform. The multiplicity of active grid elements are operable to make peer-to-peer transactions based on their participation within the electric power grid by generating and executing a digital contract. The multiplicity of active grid elements generate messages autonomously and/or automatically within a predetermined time interval. The messages comprise energy related data and settlement related data. The energy related data of the multiplicity of active grid elements are based on measurement and verification. The energy related data and the settlement related data are validated and recorded on a distributed ledger with a time stamp and a geodetic reference.
