Coaxial connector having detachable locking sleeve
A connector is provided for attachment to a coaxial cable. The connector includes, in one embodiment, a connector body and a locking sleeve. The locking sleeve is configured to be moved between an attached and a detached state. In each such state, the locking sleeve is configured to receive the end of the cable. In one position, the locking sleeve is configured to lock the end of the cable to the connector body.
High tolerance connection between elements
An electronic device may include a ring-shaped housing member defining an interior volume. The ring-shaped housing member may be configured to receive electronic device components. The ring-shaped housing member may include a first element comprising an angled region, and a second element comprising an angled region. A first intermediate element may be placed between the first and second elements, where the intermediate element is secured to internal surfaces of each of the first and second elements such that the first and second elements do not overlap. The first intermediate element may fasten the first and second elements to one another, and electrically isolate the first and second elements from one another.
HIGH TOLERANCE CONNECTION BETWEEN ELEMENTS
This is directed to connecting two or more elements using an intermediate element constructed from a material that changes between states. An electronic device can include one or more components constructed by connecting several elements. To provide a connection having a reduced or small size or cross-section and construct a component having high tolerances, a material can be provided in a first state in which it flows between the elements before changing to a second state in which it adheres to the elements and provides a structurally sound connection. For example, a plastic can be molded between the elements. As another example, a composite material can be brazed between the elements. In some cases, internal surfaces of the elements can include one or more features for enhancing a bond between the elements and the material providing the interface between the elements.
Sensor mounting assembly for sensored guidewire and associated devices, systems, and methods
Intravascular devices, systems, and methods are disclosed. In some embodiments, a guidewire system for treating a patient includes an internal sensor mount having a body and a first cutout extending through a wall of the body; a core wire secured to the internal sensor mount; a sensor assembly for detecting a physiological characteristic of a patient secured to the internal sensor mount; an external housing disposed about the internal sensor mount and including an opening in communication with the cutout of the internal sensor mount; a proximal flexible member secured to at least one of the internal sensor mount and the external housing; a first distal flexible member secured to at least one of the internal sensor mount and the external housing; and at least one conductor electrically coupled to the sensor assembly and extending proximally beyond the internal sensor mount through the proximal flexible member.
Reducing coupling coefficient variation using intended width mismatch
A coupler is presented that has high-directivity and low coupling coefficient variation. The coupler includes a first trace with a first edge substantially parallel to a second edge and substantially equal in length to the second edge. The first trace includes a third edge substantially parallel to a fourth edge. The fourth edge is divided into three segments. The outer segments are a first distance from the third edge. The middle segment is a second distance from the third edge. Further, the coupler includes a second trace, which includes a first edge substantially parallel to a second edge and substantially equal in length to the second edge. The second trace includes a third edge substantially parallel to a fourth edge. The fourth edge is divided into three segments. The outer segments are a first distance from the third edge. The middle segment is a second distance from the third edge.
Control rod drive mechanism (CRDM) mounting system for pressurized water reactors
A standoff supporting a control rod drive mechanism (CRDM) in a nuclear reactor is connected to a distribution plate which provides electrical power and hydraulics. The standoff has connectors that require no action to effectuate the electrical connection to the distribution plate other than placement of the standoff onto the distribution plate. This facilitates replacement of the CRDM. In addition to the connectors, the standoff has alignment features to ensure the CRDM is connected in the correct orientation. After placement, the standoff may be secured to the distribution plate by bolts or other fasteners. The distribution plate may be a single plate that contains the electrical and hydraulic lines and also is strong enough to provide support to the CRDMs or may comprise a stack of two or more plates.
Bellows interconnect
A compliant interconnect with a cylindrical bellows structure is configured to reduce a stress between a substrate and a PCB board. The stress can be caused by a CTE (coefficient of thermal expansion) mismatch, a physical movement, or a combination thereof. The compliant interconnect can be solder to and/or immobilized on one or more coupling structure. Alternatively, the compliant interconnect can include an instant swapping structure (such as a socket) that makes the upgrade of the electronic components easier.
Handheld device enclosure
This is directed to an electronic device enclosure. The enclosure includes an outer periphery member forming an outer surface of a device, and to which an internal platform is connected. Electronic device components can be assembled to one or both surfaces of the internal platform. The enclosure can include front and back cover assemblies assembled to the opposite surfaces of the outer periphery member to retain electronic device components. One or both of the cover assemblies can include a window through which display circuitry can provide content to a user of the device.
Handheld computing device
A handheld computing device and handheld music player are disclosed. The handheld computing device includes a seamless enclosure formed from an extruded tube. The extruded tube includes open ends and internal rails which serve as a guide for slidably assembling an operational assembly through the open ends of the extruded tube, a reference surface for positioning the operational assembly relative to an access opening in the seamless enclosure, and a support structure for supporting the operational assembly during use. The handheld music player includes an elongated extruded tube extending along a longitudinal axis. The elongated extruded tube has a first open end and a second open end opposite the first open end, and defines an internal lumen which is sized and dimensioned for slidable receipt of operational components of the handheld music player. The lumen includes rails for guiding the operational components to their desired position within the lumen.
Method of maintaining constant movement of a cutting blade of an ultrasonic waveguide
A method of maintaining a constant movement of a cutting blade of an ultrasonic waveguide includes providing an ultrasonic transducer operable to convert a received motional current into a movement of a cutting blade of an ultrasonic waveguide, a measurement circuit connected in a parallel configuration with the ultrasonic transducer, and a variable power source operable to supply current through a set of connection points to the parallel configuration and thereby create the motional current in the ultrasonic transducer. Current is supplied through a set of connection points of the parallel configuration with the variable power source to, thereby, create the motional current in the ultrasonic transducer and the motional current is regulated with a current controller by varying an output of the power source, thereby maintaining a substantially constant rate of movement of the cutting blade across a variety of cutting loads.
