Composite structure having ceramic truss core and method for making the same

A CMC sandwich used to fabricate CMC structures includes facesheets bonded to a core reinforced with a ceramic truss comprising an array of CMC pins. The binder matrix in the ends of the pins is removed, leaving exposed, flexible ceramic fibers. The exposed ceramic fibers are bent so as to extend parallel to the facesheets, and are bonded to one or more plies of the facesheets. The binder matrix in the ends of the ceramic pins may be removed by mechanical or chemical processes.

A method for coupling a tubing to a liquid chromatography column comprises: passing an end of the tubing through a coupling apparatus comprising: (i) at least one chamber; (ii) a first spring within the at least one chamber configured to transmit a spring force to the tubing; (iii) a second spring within the at least one chamber; and (iv) a deformable sealing member configured to receive a second force from the second spring; inserting the tubing end into a receptacle of an end fitting of the column; and moving the coupling apparatus towards the chromatography column such that the first spring urges the tubing into the receptacle whereby a pressure of the tubing end against the end fitting exceeds a maximum operating fluid pressure of the column and, further, whereby the second spring causes the deformable sealing member to form a fluid seal between the column and the receptacle.

A foamer for use in dispensing a liquid product with a foam consistency includes a top cap, a closure, a housing, an air-flow diaphragm, a mesh screen and a valve structure. The closure includes a portion which is received by the cap and these two (2) cooperate to define a foam outlet. The housing is assembled into the closure and the diaphragm is assembled into the housing. The mesh insert is positioned adjacent the foam outlet. The valve structure is provided in two (2) embodiments, one being a duckbill valve with a corresponding holder and the other being a metering valve with a corresponding holder.

A reconfigurable autonomous workstation includes a multi-faced superstructure including a horizontally-arranged frame section supported on a plurality of posts. The posts form a plurality of vertical faces arranged between adjacent pairs of the posts, the faces including first and second faces and a power distribution and position reference face. A controllable robotic arm suspends from the rectangular frame section, and a work table fixedly couples to the power distribution and position reference face. A plurality of conveyor tables are fixedly coupled to the work table including a first conveyor table through the first face and a second conveyor table through the second face. A vision system monitors the work table and each of the conveyor tables. A programmable controller monitors signal inputs from the vision system to identify and determine orientation of the component on the first conveyor table and control the robotic arm to execute an assembly task.

A modular side rail and removable step system for a vehicle is disclosed. In one aspect, the kit includes first, second, and third removable steps that may be mounted to the side rail. In one aspect, the side rail main body has a channel-shape defining a longitudinal opening between an adjacent first side and an adjacent second side. A plurality of step attachment arrangements may be provided on the first side of the side rail main body to allow the first, second, and third steps to be mounted to the side rail main body in various configurations. For example the plurality of step attachment arrangements may be arranged and configured to provide attachment locations for mounting the first and third removable steps in a first step assembly configuration and for mounting the second removable step in a second step assembly configuration.

The elevator also includes a plurality of slip assemblies disposed inside the plurality of openings of the first elevator segment and the second elevator segment and coupled to the elevator body, each of the plurality of slip assemblies including a slip, the slip including an engagement surface disposed orthogonal to the axis of the bore of the elevator body that engages the tubular segment.

Each grab adapter sections includes a base sub-section connected to a corresponding grab plate section, in which an inner surface of the base sub-section includes an alignment notch, and a modular sub-section to be secured to the base sub-section, in which an outer surface of the modular sub-section includes an alignment tab to be disposed within the alignment notch in the base sub-section and an inner surface of the modular sub-section includes a grab tab section that matingly interlocks with a fitting grab notch on the pipe fitting to facilitate securing the swage machine to the pipe fitting.
