Lath and drainage
11131092 · 2021-09-28 · ·

An improved lath is disclosed having a water drainage layer provided in association with the lath. The water drainage layer serves to remove water that might otherwise build up between the lath and wall structure.

Ultra-low reflectance broadband omni-directional anti-reflection coating

An anti-reflection coating has an average total reflectance of less than 10%, for example less than 5.9% such as from 4.9% to 5.9%, over a spectrum of wavelengths of 400-1100 nm and a range of angles of incidence of 0-90 degrees with respect to a surface normal of the anti-reflection coating. An anti-reflection coating has a total reflectance of less than 10%, for example less than 6% such as less than 4%, over an entire spectrum of wavelengths of 400-1600 nm and an entire range of angles of incidence of 0-70 degrees with respect to a surface normal of the anti-reflection coating.

Freestanding, dimensionally stable microporous webs

A thin, freestanding, microporous polyolefin web with good heat resistance and dimensional stability includes an inorganic surface layer. A first preferred embodiment is a microporous polyolefin base membrane in which colloidal inorganic particles are present in its bulk structure. Each of second and third preferred embodiments is a thin, freestanding microporous polyolefin web that has an inorganic surface layer containing no organic hydrogen bonding component for the inorganic particles. The inorganic surface layer of the second embodiment is achieved by hydrogen bonding with use of an inorganic acid, and the inorganic surface layer of the third embodiment is achieved by one or both of hydrogen bonding and chemical reaction of the surface groups on the inorganic particles.

Friction material

A friction material has a first outermost surface and a second outermost surface spaced apart from the first outermost surface. The friction material includes a base which forms at least a portion of the first outermost surface. The base includes fibers present in an amount of from 20 to 80 weight percent, a filler present in an amount of from 20 to 80 weight percent, and a deposit which forms at least a portion of the second outermost surface and includes a friction adjusting agent. The friction material further includes a resin disposed throughout the friction material. The deposit is disposed in the friction material in a gradated pattern. At least a portion of the deposit is exposed to the environment and the second outermost surface has a surface roughness of from 2 to 11 micrometers as determined by non-contact laser measurement according to ISO 25178.

The present invention discloses an integrally molded vehicular undercover having air permeability includes a base material layer containing inorganic fibers and a first solidified thermoplastic binder, the base material layer having a road side surface and a vehicle body side surface, an outer layer containing synthetic resin fibers and a second solidified thermoplastic binder, the outer layer being integrated with the road side surface of the base material layer, and a synthetic resin layer having air permeability, the synthetic resin layer being integrated with the vehicle body side surface of the base material layer.

Impregnated Cloth

A knitted spacer fabric has a tightly knitted bottom layer, a more loosely knitted upper layer and linking fibres extending across the space between the lower and upper faces. Settable material, e.g. cement, is introduced into the space between the upper and lower faces and can be caused to set by the addition of a liquid, e.g. water. Until set, the fabric is flexible and can be shaped but after the material in space has set, the fabric is rigid and can be used as a structural element in a wide range of situations. The bottom layer has an extension that extends beyond the upper face and is connected to the upper face by elastic connecting fibres that draw the extension towards the other face, thereby at least partly closing the space at the edge of the cloth and preventing the settable material from spilling out. In addition, the packing of the settable material and maximum space between the faces are such that only a predetermined amount of liquid can be accommodated within the space and that amount is matched to the water required to set the cement.

COATING PROVIDING MODULATED RELEASE OF VOLATILE COMPOSITIONS

Described are modulating coatings that are configured to provide an improved release profile of a volatile composition from a base material, wherein the modulating coating includes a barrier substance that is configured to hinder a release of the volatile composition through the modulating coating, and a hygroscopic substance that is configured to facilitate the release of the volatile composition through the modulating coating.

Coating composition comprising submicron calcium carbonate-comprising particles, process to prepare same and use of submicron calcium carbonate-comprising particles in coating compositions

A coating composition comprising an aqueous dispersion of submicron natural ground calcium carbonate particles contained in a liquid binder, wherein the resultant coating may constitute either a clear coat or a glossing and opacifying coating, depending upon the presence of certain additives such as a mineral pigment (e.g., TiO.sub.2).
