Abstract
A gun holder is situated within a box spring beneath a mattress. The mattress itself has an opening therein matching the size of the opening into the gun holder and extending through the mattress. One can then lie on one's bed and near one's arm, reach downward into the box spring or other mattress support, and grab the gun without having to move the majority of one's body from the position in which one was sleeping on the bed.

2. The combination mattress and box spring of claim 1, wherein said portal in said mattress is of equal width from said top side to said bottom side of said mattress.
3. The combination mattress and box spring of claim 2, where both said portal of said mattress and said portal of said mattress support have left, right, front, and back sides.
4. The combination mattress and box spring of claim 3, wherein said portal of said mattress support has a wider said bottom side than said top side.
5. The combination mattress and box spring of claim 4, wherein said portal of said mattress support opens on a bottom side into a bullet trap which is constructed in a manner sufficient to retain a bullet fired from a handgun situated there-in.
6. The combination mattress and box spring of claim 5, wherein said bottom side and adjacent bottom portion are adapted to hold a slide of a gun and are smaller in width than a magazine of said gun.
7. The combination mattress and box spring of claim 5, wherein a trigger guard of said gun rests against a top edge of said bottom portion of said portal of said mattress support.
8. The combination mattress and box spring of claim 5, further comprising a sheet covering at least said top side of said mattress with a flap in said sheet opening into said portal of said mattress.
9. A gun holder situated within a mattress support beneath a mattress, such that said mattress support has a substantially equal width and length as said mattress and a portal, extends through said mattress and substantially aligns with said portal of said mattress support on at least four sides of each of said portal of said mattress and said portal of said mattress support.
10. The gun holder of claim 9, further comprising a bullet trap opening into a bottom side of said gun holder and adapted to stop a bullet from penetrating there-through when fired from a handgun held in said gun holder.
11. The gun holder of claim 9, wherein said gun holder has a wider upper portion and narrower lower portion.
12. The gun holder of claim 11, further comprising a handgun where a magazine of said handgun fits only in said wider upper portion to the exclusion of said narrower lower portion.
13. The gun holder of claim 12, wherein said mattress is covered by a sheet with a flap opening into a top side of said mattress.
14. The gun holder of claim 13, wherein said flap opens on three sides of said gun holder.
15. A method of using a gun holder comprising the steps of: placing a gun through a portal in a mattress into a portal of a mattress support situated beneath said mattress, such that a barrel of said gun points downward away from said mattress; grabbing a handle of said gun and pulling it out through said mattress; pointing said gun in a direction away from said mattress and shooting.
16. The method of claim 15, further comprising a step of covering said portal of said mattress with a bed sheet after said step of grabbing.
