    Abstract

The present invention relates to a telescopic paper holder having a base member with a mounting plate for the mounting of the telescopic paper holder to a wall, floor or other article. On the opposing side of the telescopic paper holder, a primary holder having a proximal end and a distal end is designed to be positioned within a center of a roll of paper during use. Between the primary holder and the mounting plate, at least one telescopic member is positioned. During operation, a user may extend or collapse the at least one telescopic member to move the primary holder relative to the mounting plate.

    DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF CERTAIN EMBODIMENTS

[0020] While preferred embodiments of the present disclosure have been shown and described herein, it will be obvious to those skilled in the art that such embodiments are provided by way of example only. Numerous variations, changes, and substitutions will now occur to those skilled in the art without departing from the disclosure. It should be understood that various alternatives to the embodiments of the disclosure described herein may be employed in practicing the disclosure.

[0021] It is to be understood that the terminology used herein is for the purpose of describing particular embodiments only and is not intended to be limiting. The terms “a” or “an,” as used herein, are defined as to mean “at least one”. The term “plurality,” as used herein, is defined as two or more. The term “another,” as used herein, is defined as at least a second or more. The terms “including” and/or “having,” as used herein, are defined as comprising (i.e., open language). The term “coupled,” as used herein, is defined as connected, although not necessarily directly, not necessarily mechanically, and not permanent. The term “providing” is defined herein in its broadest sense, e.g., bringing/coming into physical existence, making available, and/or supplying to someone or something, in whole or in multiple parts at once or over a period of time. As used herein, the terms “about” or “approximately” apply to all numeric values, whether or not explicitly indicated. These terms generally refer to a range of numbers that one of skill in the art would consider equivalent to the recited values (i.e., having the same function or result). In many instances these terms may include numbers that are rounded to the nearest significant figure. As used in this application, the term “substantially” means that the actual value is within about 10% of the actual desired value, particularly within about 5% of the actual desired value and especially within about 1% of the actual desired value of any variable, element or limit set forth herein.

[0022] Referring now to FIGS. 1, 2 and 3, a telescopic paper holder 100 is illustrated. In one embodiment, the telescopic paper holder 100 comprises a base member 115 forming a mounting plate. In one embodiment, a primary holder 110 is provided having a proximal end and a distal end. In one embodiment, the primary holder 110 is movably adjoined to a telescoping member 120. Next, upon the distal end of the base member, the least one telescoping member 120 is positioned between the base member 115 and the primary holder 110. As shown in the present embodiments, the telescoping member 120 is cylindrical and includes a plurality of sequentially nested telescopic members 125. In one embodiment, the plurality of sequentially nested telescopic members 125 is six; however the number of members may vary depending the distance required by the telescoping member 120. One skilled in the art will recognize that in no way is the present invention held to only the embodiment illustrated having the one telescopic member of a cylindrical cross-sectional shape. In other embodiments, the cross-sectional shape of the at least one telescopic member may comprise, without limitation, a shape of a shape set consisting of: a square, a rectangle, a spiral, a shape having at least one flat side, and the like. In some embodiments, the primary holder 110 further comprises a cap member that is removable to hold the tissue paper upon the primary holder, wherein the cap member is at the distal end of the primary holder 110. In this embodiment, the cap member may be removed to install a roll of paper 105 on the primary holder 110. In other embodiments, the cap member may be permanently adjoined to the primary holder, wherein the tube of the roll of paper 105 is configured to slide over the cap, such that the diameter of the cap is smaller than the diameter of the tube of the roll of paper. It should be appreciated to one skilled in the art that other methods and structures of securing the roll of paper to the primary holder are possible.

[0023] During operation, a user may extend or collapse the one telescopic member 120 by manually moving the primary holder relative to the mounting plate. In other embodiments, other methods of linear movement may be positioned between the base member 115 and the primary holder 110 such as a pulley, a worm drive, a rotary motor, a toothed belt, a lead screws, a ball screws, a linear motors and the like to move the at least one telescopic member.

[0024] As shown in FIG. 4, if desired, the user may engage the primary holder 110 to collapse the telescopic paper holder to a collapsed position. Generally, the present invention may be in a collapsed position when not in use or when changing the roll of paper 105.

[0025] As shown in FIG. 5, when a roll of paper 105 is desired to is desired to be utilized by the user by the user, the user may engage the primary holder to move the telescopic paper holder 110 to an extended position. That is, the present invention may be in the extended position when in use. The extended position provides the roll of paper 105 in a more convenient position preventing the user from having to reach far or strain their body/arms in an awkward position to receive a portion of the roll of paper 105. It is also helpful for young people that often have difficulty reaching the roll of paper. Since the amount of telescoping members 125 may vary, the length of the telescoping may vary depending on the user's size and arm length. Different users may have different preferences. The variable length feature is configured to accommodate these various preferences.

[0026] As shown in FIGS. 6 and 7, the base member 115 may further comprise a mounting plate having a top side 115A and a bottom side 115. As well known in the art, a toilet is generally positioned or mounted near a vertical wall, on flat floor surface. In one embodiment, the base member and mounting plate including various openings and fasteners 120 to fasten the telescopic paper holder 100 to a desired mounting location. For example, the present invention may be positioned on the vertical wall approximate to the toilet or the present invention may be positioned on a floor location. Further, due to the telescoping member, the mounting plate may be mounted behind the toilet, or on a side wall approximate to the toilet. As illustrated and described above, the mounting plate of the base member 115 may further comprise at least one opening for fitting a fastener 120 within or through the mounting plate. Exemplary fasteners to be used with the telescopic paper holder include screws, bolts, adhesives, and/or magnets.

[0027] In some embodiments, the primary holder 110, the base member 105, and/or the telescopic member 120 may further comprise at least one member of an attachment set consisting of: a magnet, a clip, a slide-fit, a clamp, a spring, a fastener, a spring, an elastic member, and an adhesive. In some embodiments, the telescopic paper holder 100 may require external texture to grip the hand of the user. In exemplary embodiments, the external texture further comprises at least one member of a texture set consisting of: indentations, sandpaper, extrusions, knurling, a rough surface, bumps or any combination thereof.

[0028] In some embodiments, the telescopic paper holder 100 or any individual component of the invention is made from at least one member of a material set consisting of: metal, rubber, plastic, a wood, foam, and fabric. In some embodiments, it may be desirable that the telescopic paper holder further comprises at least one member of an identification set consisting of: an alphanumeric identification, the user's name, a symbolic shape, a company brand, a numeric identification number, a QR code, a barcode, an RFID tag, or any combination thereof. For example, the at least one telescopic member may be numbered in order of assembly.

Rather, the specific features are disclosed as exemplary preferred forms of implementing the claimed invention. Stated otherwise, it is to be understood that the phraseology and terminology employed herein, as well as the abstract, are for the purpose of description and should not be regarded as limiting. Therefore, while exemplary illustrative embodiments of the invention have been described, numerous variations and alternative embodiments will occur to those skilled in the art. Such variations and alternate embodiments are contemplated, and can be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention.
