    Abstract

A shirt attachable bib for removable placement over a wearer's shirt to protect the entire front side of the shirt includes a bib body having a front side which includes a pocket positioned at its bottom end, a back side coated with a low tack adhesive, and two opposing sleeve portions, each of which includes a perforated section which allows a lower portion. The adhesive on the back side enables the shirt attachable bib to be positioned on a wearer simply by aligning it over a wearer's shirt and pressing the back side onto the shirt. The back side additionally includes an integrated tab portion to allow it to more easily be removed once in place on a wearer. The perforated section makes each opposing sleeve portion configurable from a long sleeve style sleeve to a short sleeve style sleeve.

A shirt attachable bib for removable placement over a wearer's shirt, comprising: a bib body having two opposing sleeve portions, wherein said bib body includes a front side and a back side; said back side configured to be removably attached to a shirt; and said sleeve portions configured to be selectively adjusted from a long sleeve style sleeve to a short sleeve style sleeve.

    2. The shirt attachable bib of claim 1, wherein said front side includes an integrated pocket disposed adjacent to a bottom edge.

    3. The shirt attachable bib of claim 2, wherein said integrated pocket extends across the entire bottom edge.

    4. The shirt attachable bib of claim 1, wherein said back side includes a low tack adhesive coating, thereby configuring the back side to be removably attached to a shirt.

    5. The shirt attachable bib of claim 1, wherein the entire back side is covered by the low tack adhesive.

    6. The shirt attachable bib of claim 1, additionally comprising a tab portion having at least one tab extension which extends beyond the bib body.

    7. The shirt attachable bib of claim 6, wherein said tab portion additionally includes a tab base adapted to distribute pressure exerted on the at least one tab extension to a central area of the bib body.

    8. The shirt attachable bib of claim 7, wherein the tab portion includes two tab extensions which are each connected to the tab base.

    9. The shirt attachable bib of claim 1, wherein said sleeve portions each including a perforated section and a lower portion which is detachable at the perforated section.

    10. A shirt attachable bib for removable placement over a wearer's shirt, comprising: a bib body having two opposing sleeve portions, wherein said bib body includes a front side and a back side; said front side including an integrated pocket disposed adjacent to a bottom edge said back side including a low tack adhesive coating which configures the back side to be removably attached to a shirt; a tab portion having at least one tab extension which extends beyond the bib body; said sleeve portions each including a perforated section and a lower portion which is detachable at the perforated section, thereby configuring each sleeve portion to be selectively adjusted from a long sleeve style sleeve to a short sleeve style sleeve.

    11. The shirt attachable bib of claim 10, wherein said integrated pocket extends across the entire bottom edge.

    12. The shirt attachable bib of claim 10, wherein the entire back side is covered by the low tack adhesive.

    13. The shirt attachable bib of claim 10, wherein said tab portion additionally includes a tab base adapted to distribute pressure exerted on the at least one tab extension to a central area of the bib body.

    14. The shirt attachable bib of claim 13, wherein the tab portion includes two tab extensions which are each connected to the tab base.

    15. The shirt attachable bib of claim 10, wherein said tab portion is attached to the back side.

    Description

    BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0011] FIG. 1 is a front elevational view of a shirt attachable bib built in accordance with the present invention with its sleeves in a long sleeve configuration.

[0012] FIG. 2 is a rear elevational view of a shirt attachable bib built in accordance with the present invention with its sleeves in the long sleeve configuration.

[0013] FIG. 3 is a front elevational view of a shirt attachable bib built in accordance with the present invention with its sleeves in a short sleeve configuration.

    DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0014] Referring now to the drawings and in particular FIGS. 1, 2, and 3, a shirt attachable bib 10 is shown as a bib body having a front side 11, a back side 12, and two opposing sleeve portions 13. In the preferred embodiment, the bib body is similar to conventional bibs in that it is constructed of a moisture resistant material to allow it to provide a protective barrier for a wearer's shirt. The front side 11 includes a pocket 14 which is positioned at the lower end of the bib body, adjacent to a bottom edge 14a. It is contemplated that the positioning of the pocket 14 at the lower end of the bib body enables the pocket 14 to catch debris or fluid which spills onto the front side 11 because, provided the shirt attachable bib 10 is being worn in a substantially upright position, the force of gravity will cause such debris or fluid to travel down the bib body into the pocket 14.

[0015] The back side 12 is coated with a low tack adhesive which causes the shirt attachable bib 10 to function in a similar manner to a conventional removable sticker. In this regard, the low tack adhesive on the back side 12 allows the shirt attachable bib 10 positioned on a wearer simply by aligning the shirt attachable bib 10 over a wearer's shirt and pressing the back side 12 onto the shirt.

[0016] Integrated with the back side 12 is a tab portion which is defined by two tab extensions 15 which extend up from area of the bib body adjacent to a wearer's shoulders and a tab base 16 positioned in the area of the bib body adjacent to a wearer's chest. It is contemplated that the tab portion provides a structure by which the shirt attachable bib 10 can be more easily removed. In this regard, a user can simply pull on the tab extensions 15 to remove the bib. When this occurs, the force exerted by the user is transferred to the tab base 16 (because the tab extensions 15 are connected to the tab base 16) to increase the leverage of the pull (transferring pressure exerted at the edge through the body to the middle) and make the pull more effective.

[0017] Each opposing sleeve portion 13 includes a perforated section 17 which allows a lower portion 18 to be detached. In this regard, the perforated section 17 makes each opposing sleeve portion 13 configurable from a long sleeve style sleeve (as the default, illustrated in FIGS. 1 and 2) to a short sleeve style sleeve (illustrated in FIG. 3). It is contemplated that the lower portion 18 may be discarded after being detached, or used to cover some other portion of a users clothing.

[0018] The instant invention has been shown and described herein in what is considered to be the most practical and preferred embodiment. It is recognized, however, that departures may be made therefrom within the scope of the invention and that obvious modifications will occur to a person skilled in the art.
