Abstract
A medicament container holder for securing a medicament container having a generally tubular body arranged with a proximally directed neck portion and a flange portion arranged with a pierceable septum. The medicament container holder has mechanical holding elements that interact with the flange portion for preventing movement of the medicament container in a distal direction and having mechanical fixation elements configured to interact with the flange portion for urging the flange portion in the distal direction against the holding elements, where the medicament container holder has attachment elements for a medicament delivery member. The mechanical fixation elements are configured to engage with the medicament delivery member when attached to the attachment elements, such as to exert a force in the distal direction on said flange portion.
Claims
1. A medicament container holder, comprising: a neck portion positioned at a proximal end of the medicament container holder; a plurality of inwardly directed protrusions formed on an inner surface of the neck portion; at least two radially inwardly directed arms having distally directed protrusions at their free ends, wherein the at least two radially inwardly directed arms are separate from and are not directly coupled to the plurality of inwardly directed protrusion; and attachment elements for attaching a medicament delivery member to the medicament container holder.
2. The medicament container holder according to claim 1, wherein the at least two radially inwardly directed arms are configured to engage with the medicament delivery member when the medicament delivery member is attached by said attachment elements to the medicament container holder, such as to exert a force in an axial distal direction on a flange portion of the medicament container.
3. The medicament container holder according to claim 1, wherein the plurality of inwardly directed protrusions are configured to flex in a radial direction.
4. The medicament container holder according to claim 3, further comprising: a plurality of cut-outs arranged adjacent the plurality of inwardly directed protrusions for providing flex in the radial direction.
5. The medicament container holder according to claim 1, wherein the at least two radially inwardly directed arms are configured to flex in a longitudinal direction.
6. The medicament container holder according to claim 5, wherein the at least two radially inwardly directed arms further comprise a central ring-shaped member flexibly attached to the medicament container holder.
7. The medicament container holder according to claim 6, wherein the at least two radially inwardly directed arms further comprise sections of material between the ring-shaped member and the medicament container holder, and wherein the sections of material are flexible.
8. The medicament container holder according to claim 1, wherein the medicament container holder is arranged as an integral part of a housing of a medicament delivery device.
9. The medicament container holder according to claim 1, wherein the medicament container holder is arranged as a separate component of a medicament delivery device.
10. The medicament container holder according to claim 1, wherein the attachment elements comprise an external threaded surface on the neck portion of the medicament container holder.
11. The medicament container holder according to claim 1, wherein the plurality of inwardly directed protrusions are wedge-shaped.
12. A medicament delivery device, comprising: a medicament container comprising a generally tubular body arranged with a proximally directed neck portion and a flange portion arranged with a pierceable septum; and a medicament container holder having a generally tubular elongated body which is arranged to accommodate the medicament container, the medicament container comprising: a neck portion positioned at a proximal end of the medicament container holder; a plurality of inwardly directed protrusions formed on an inner surface of the neck portion; at least two radially inwardly directed arms having distally directed protrusions at their free ends, wherein the at least two radially inwardly directed arms are separate from and are not directly coupled to the plurality of inwardly directed protrusion; and an attachment element that is configured to engage with a medicament delivery member when the medicament delivery member is attached by the attachment element to the medicament container holder, such as to exert a force in an axial distal direction on the flange portion of the medicament container.
13. The medicament delivery device of claim 12, wherein the medicament delivery device is a re-usable medicament delivery device where the medicament container can be removed from the medicament container holder.
14. The medicament delivery device according to claim 12, wherein the at least two radially inwardly directed arms are configured to flex in a radial direction when the flange portion is moved axially relative to the medicament container holder.
15. The medicament delivery device according to claim 12, further comprising one or more cut-outs arranged adjacent the plurality of inwardly directed protrusions for providing flex in a radial direction.
16. The medicament delivery device according to claim 12, wherein the at least two radially inwardly directed arms urge the flange portion in the axial distal direction against the plurality of inwardly directed protrusions.
17. The medicament delivery device according to claim 12, wherein the at least two radially inwardly directed arms are configured to flex in a longitudinal direction.
18. The medicament delivery device according to claim 17, wherein the at least two radially inwardly directed arms further comprise a central ring-shaped member flexibly attached to the medicament container holder.
19. The medicament delivery device according to claim 18, wherein the at least two radially inwardly directed arms further comprise sections of material between the ring-shaped member and the medicament container holder, and wherein the sections of material are flexible.
20. The medicament delivery device according to claim 12, wherein the plurality of inwardly directed protrusions are wedge-shaped.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION
[0024] The first embodiment shown in the drawings 1 to 7 comprises a medicament container holder 10 having a generally tubular elongated body 12,
[0025] As mentioned, the medicament container 14 is intended to fit into the medicament container holder and for that purpose, the medicament container holder 10 is arranged with a neck portion 34 at its proximal end, having dimensions so as to accommodate the flange portion 22 with the cap 28 of the medicament container 14. The proximal end of the neck portion 34 of the medicament container holder 10 is provided with a passage 36 so as to get access to the interior of the medicament container holder 10 and thus the flange portion 22 of the medicament container 14 when placed in the medicament container holder 10. Further, the neck portion 34 of the medicament container holder is arranged with attachment elements 38 for a medicament delivery member 40. In the embodiment shown, the medicament delivery member is an injection needle 42 attached to a cap-shaped hub 44. It is however to be understood that other types of attachment elements may be utilized, such as bayonet connection, luer lock connections, snap-fit connections etc. The interior of the hub 44 is arranged with threads 46 that are to cooperate with external threads 38 on the neck portion 34 of the medicament container holder 10. According to the disclosure, holding elements are provided on the medicament container holder 10. In the embodiment shown in
[0026] The wedge-shaped protrusions 48 are positioned such that they will be placed abutting the distally directed surface 30 of the flange portion 22 of the medicament container 14 with proximally directed surfaces, which surfaces will act as reference surfaces as will be described. The medicament container holder is further arranged with fixation elements that are arranged to exert a certain force on the medicament container 14 in the distal direction, against the reference surfaces.
