Abstract
The present invention is directed to an adjustable footwear system to provide varying degrees of tightness in different areas of the footwear before and after the footwear is received on the foot. An extensor system is activated to open or close a cavity of the footwear between the upper and an insole. The extensor system can provide loosen the footwear to the foot.
Claims
1. An adjustable article loosening system comprising: footwear including an upper and a sole, a cavity positioned between the upper and the insole; an extensor system including one or more extensors arranged in one or more groups; and one or more activation devices for activating the one or more extensors, wherein the one or more activation devices are activated for adjusting the extensor system for loosening the footwear by enlarging the cavity.
2. The adjustable article loosening system of claim 1 wherein the upper is formed of an elastic material.
3. The adjustable article loosening system of claim 1 wherein when the extensor system is activated the extensor system provides a rigid infrastructure.
4. The adjustable article loosening system of claim 1 wherein the extensor system comprises a flexible clip.
5. The adjustable article loosening system of claim 4 wherein the flexible clip includes one or more extensor arms which extend from a base, the extensor system being positioned in sides of the upper.
6. The adjustable article loosening system of claim 5 wherein a device lever is coupled to said flexible clip, the device lever being activated to squeeze the flexible clip.
7. The adjustable article loosening system of claim 6 wherein after activation of the device lever, the device lever can be locked in place.
8. The adjustable article loosening system of claim 1 wherein the extensor system is pressure activated, the extensor system comprising a coupling line for coupling a device lever to a chamber, the device lever can be activated to withdraw air from the chamber or inflate the chamber with air.
9. The adjustable article loosening system of claim 1 wherein the extensor system is an extensor wire and the activation device is one or more pull points positioned along the extensor wire.
10. The adjustable article loosening system of claim 1 wherein the extensor system is an extensor bar and the activation device is one or more anchor points positioned along the extensor bar.
11. The adjustable article loosening system of claim 1 wherein the extensor system is pressure activated, and the activation device is a pump.
12. The adjustable article loosening system of claim 1 wherein the extensor system is pressure activated, and the activation device is an automatic inflation valve.
13. The adjustable article loosening system of claim 1 wherein the extensor system comprises an extensor chamber.
14. The adjustable article loosening system of claim 13 further comprising a chamber bracket positioned at one or more ends of the extensor chamber.
15. The adjustable article loosening system of claim 14 wherein a panel is attached to an outside surface of the chamber bracket.
16. The adjustable article loosening system of claim 13 wherein the extensor system further comprises a hydraulic path connector, the hydraulic path connector being coupled to the extensor chamber.
17. The adjustable article loosening system of claim 13 wherein the extensor chamber includes a side edge being substantially straight.
18. The adjustable article loosening system of claim 13 wherein the extensor chamber includes a side edge being substantially curved.
19. The adjustable article loosening system of claim 13 wherein the extensor chamber is a cylindrical body.
20. The adjustable article loosening system of claim 1 wherein the extensor system comprises a plurality of extensor chambers.
21. The adjustable article loosening system of claim 20 wherein the plurality of extensor chambers extend laterally between a pair of panels, the plurality of extensor chambers extending horizontally within the footwear.
22. The adjustable article loosening system of claim 20 wherein the plurality of extensor chambers extend longitudinally between a pair of panels, the plurality of extensor chambers extending vertically within the footwear.
23. An adjustable article loosening system comprising: footwear including a heel upper coupled to a heel component compartment at an upper portion of the heel component compartment and a toe upper coupled at a lower portion of the heel component compartment; an extensor system including one or more extensors coupled to said footwear, and one or more activation devices for activating the one or more extensors, wherein the one or more activation devices are activated and un-activated for adjusting the extensor system for loosening and tightening the footwear.
24. The adjustable article loosening system of claim 23 wherein one more extensors comprise an upper extensor coupled to either side of the heel upper.
25. The adjustable article loosening system of claim 24 wherein the one or more extensors further comprise one or more lower extensors positioned in the lower portion of the heel component compartment.
26. The adjustable article loosening system of claim 25 wherein the extensor system is pressure activated, the extensor system comprising a coupling line for coupling the upper extensor and the one or more lower extensors to a pressure activation device, wherein in the pressure activation device is activated for increasing pressure in the upper extensor and the one or more lower extensors.
27. The adjustable article loosening system of claim 23 further comprising one or more flexors positioned at one or more sides of the heel upper.
28. The adjustable article loosening system of claim 23 wherein the heel component compartment is in a shape of a wedge.
28. An adjustable article loosening system comprising: footwear including an upper and a sole, a cavity positioned between the upper and the sole; an extensor system including one or more heel extensors and one or more upper extensors; and one or more activation devices for activating the one or more heel extensors and the one or more upper extensors, wherein the one or more activation devices are activated for adjusting the extensor system for loosening the footwear by enlarging the cavity.
29. The adjustable article loosening system of claim 28 wherein the upper is formed of an elastic material.
30. The adjustable article loosening system of claim 28 wherein the extensor system is pressure activated, the extensor system comprising a path for coupling the one or more heel extensors and the one or more upper extensors to a fluid reservoir.
31. The adjustable article loosening system of claim 30 wherein the one or more activation devices are a pressure button actuator to manually increase or reduce pressure in the extensor system.
32. The adjustable article loosening system of claim 30 wherein the fluid reservoir is positioned within the sole.
33. The adjustable article loosening system of claim 28 wherein the one or more heel extensors and the one or more upper extensors are formed individually, the one or more heel extensors and the one or more upper extensors being positioned in a side of the footwear.
34. The adjustable article loosening system of claim 28 wherein a plurality of the heel extensors and a plurality of the upper extensors are formed as a plenum which is divided by one or more baffles, the one or more heel extensors and the one or more upper extensors being positioned in a side of the footwear.

The adjustable article loosening system of claim 28 wherein the one or more heel extensors extend radially around a heel portion of the footwear from an edge of the footwear to a second edge of the footwear and the one or more upper extensors extend radially around an upper portion of the foot wear from the first edge of the footwear to the second edge of the footwear, the first edge being on an opposite side of the footwear from the second edge.
36. The adjustable article loosening system of claim 28 wherein the extensor system is pressure activated, the extensor system comprising a first path for coupling the one or more heel extensors and the one or more upper extensors.
37. The adjustable article loosening system of claim 36 wherein the one or more activation devices are a pressure activation device being removably connected to an outlet of the first path, the pressure activation device including a pressure button actuator, the pressure button actuator being activated to manually increase or reduce pressure in the extensor system.
38. The adjustable article loosening system of claim 37 wherein the pressure activation device comprises a housing, a fluid reservoir being positioned within the housing, a second path connects the pressure button actuator to the fluid reservoir and a third path connects the fluid reservoir to an inlet, the inlet being removably connected to the outlet of the first path.
