    Abstract

    A multi-compartmental sports equipment backpack enables segregated and secure storage and portability of baseball related equipment. The backpack provides a container having a plurality of compartments, sleeves, and hard cases that enable segregated storage, back mounting, impact protection, and efficient access to baseball related sport equipment. The container comprises a front panel, a mount panel, and at least one sidewall that form a primary cavity. The primary cavity stores sport garments and balls. A front pouch joins with the front panel and provides segregated storage capacity. A top hard case stores a pair of glasses. A bottom hard case stores a sport glove. At least one sleeve stores and enables quick access to a sport stick. A latch member enables quick release latching of head protection equipment. A mounting member enables the container to be mounted on the back for portability. A handle provides a grip for carrying.

    Claims

    1. A multi-compartmental sports equipment backpack for storage and carrying of baseball related sport equipment, the backpack comprising: a container, the container comprising a front panel, a mount panel, and at least one sidewall, the front panel, the mount panel, and the at least one sidewall configured to form a primary cavity, the primary cavity configured for enabling storage, the container arranged into a top portion and a bottom portion; a primary fastener, the primary fastener configured to enable access to the primary cavity; a top hard case, the top hard case disposed generally at the top portion of the container, the top hard case configured with a substantially rigid composition, the top hard case comprising a top fastener, the top fastener configure dot regulate access to the top hard case; a bottom hard case, the bottom hard case disposed generally at the bottom portion of the container, the bottom hard case configured with a substantially rigid composition, the bottom hard case comprising a bottom fastener, the bottom fastener configure dot regulate access to the bottom hard case; at least one sleeve, the at least one sleeve disposed along the length of the at least one sidewall of the container, the at least one sleeve comprising a longitudinal axis, the longitudinal axis configured to have a size adjustable diameter, the at least one sleeve further comprising a top end, the at least one sleeve further comprising a bottom end; a latch member, the latch member disposed at the top portion of the container, the latch member configured to enable quick release latching; at least one mounting member, the at least one mounting member disposed at the mount panel of the container, the at least one mounting member configured to enable mounting of the container; and a handle, the handle disposed at the top portion of the container, the handle configured to enable gripping and manipulation of the container.

    2. The backpack of claim 1, wherein the backpack is configured to enable containment of a plurality of baseball related sports equipment.

    3. The backpack of claim 1, further including at least one front pouch, the at least one front pouch configured to join with the front panel of the container, the at least one front pouch configured to enable storage that is segregated from the primary cavity.

    4. The backpack of claim 1, wherein the mount panel, the front panel, and the at least one sidewall are fabricated from a material that includes at least one member selected from the group consisting of: leather, canvas, cotton duck, polyester, cotton, a resilient polymer, an acrylic fabric, and a nonwoven material.

    5. The backpack of claim 1, wherein the primary cavity is configured to enable containment of a sport garment and a ball.

    6. The backpack of claim 1, wherein the primary fastener includes at least one member selected from the group consisting of: a zipper, a hook and loop fastener, an adhesive, a button, a latch, a friction-fit mechanism, and a magnet.

    7. The backpack of claim 1, wherein the top hard case is configured to enable containment of a pair of glasses.

    8. The backpack of claim 1, wherein the top hard case is configured to pivotally open and close.

    9. The backpack of claim 1, wherein the top fastener includes at least one member selected from the group consisting of: a zipper, a hook and loop fastener, an adhesive, a button, a latch, a friction-fit mechanism, and a magnet.

    10. The backpack of claim 1, wherein the bottom hard case is configured to enable containment of a sport glove.

    11. The backpack of claim 1, wherein the bottom hard case is configured to pivotally open and close.

    12. The backpack of claim 1, wherein the bottom fastener includes at least one member selected from the group consisting of: a zipper, a hook and loop fastener, an adhesive, a button, a latch, a friction-fit mechanism, and a magnet.

    13. The backpack of claim 1, wherein the top end of the at least one sleeve is open.

    14. The backpack of claim 1, wherein the bottom end of the at least one sleeve is closed.

    15. The backpack of claim 1, wherein the at least one sleeve is configured to enable containment of a sport stick.

    16. The backpack of claim 15, wherein the sport stick includes at least one member selected from the group consisting of: a baseball bat, a softball bat, a lacrosse stick, and a cricket bat.

    17. The backpack of claim 1, wherein the latch member is configured to enable quick latching and release of a protective head equipment.

    18. The backpack of claim 1, wherein the latch member comprises a hook.

    19. The backpack of claim 1, wherein the at least one mounting member comprises a pair of size adjustable straps.

A multi-compartmental sports equipment backpack for storage and carrying of baseball related sport equipment, the backpack comprising: a container, the container comprising a front panel, a mount panel, and at least one sidewall, the front panel, the mount panel, and the at least one sidewall configured to form a primary cavity, the primary cavity configured for enabling storage, the container arranged into a top portion and a bottom portion; at least one front pouch, the at least one front pouch configured to join with the front panel of the container, the at least one front pouch configured to enable storage that is segregated from the primary cavity; a primary fastener, the primary fastener configured to enable access to the primary cavity; a top hard case, the top hard case disposed generally at the top portion of the container, the top hard case configured with a substantially rigid composition, the top hard case comprising a top fastener, the top fastener configure dot regulate access to the top hard case; a bottom hard case, the bottom hard case disposed generally at the bottom portion of the container, the bottom hard case configured with a substantially rigid composition, the bottom hard case comprising a bottom fastener, the bottom fastener configure dot regulate access to the bottom hard case; at least one sleeve, the at least one sleeve disposed along the length of the at least one sidewall of the container, the at least one sleeve comprising a longitudinal axis, the longitudinal axis configured to have an adjustable diameter, the at least one sleeve further comprising a top end, the top end configured to open, the at least one sleeve further comprising a bottom end, the bottom end configured to close; a latch member, the latch member disposed at the top portion of the container, the latch member configured to enable quick release latching; at least one mounting member, the at least one mounting member disposed at the mount panel of the container, the at least one mounting member configured to enable mounting of the container; and a handle, the handle disposed at the top portion of the container, the handle configured to enable gripping and manipulation of the container.

The multi-compartmental sports equipment backpack 100, hereafter, “backpack 100” is configured to enable segregated and secure storage and portability of baseball related equipment. In one possible embodiment, the backpack 100 is generally, a container 102 having a plurality of compartments, sleeves, and hard cases that enable segregated storage, back mounting, impact protection, and efficient access to a sport glove, a sport stick, a pair of glasses, sport garments, head protection equipment, and other baseball or softball related equipment.

A front pouch joins with the front panel 104 and provides segregated storage capacity. A top hard case 116 stores a pair of glasses. A bottom hard case 120 stores a sport glove.     [0037] Turning now to FIG. 2, the backpack 100 is generally a container 102 having a generally resilient configuration and configured to enable quick access to the contents therein. In one embodiment, the container 102 comprises a front panel 104, a mount panel 106, and at least one sidewall 108a, 108b. The front panel 104, the mount panel 106, and the at least one sidewall 108a, 108b form a primary cavity (not shown) that is configured to store the baseball related sport equipment.

    [0038] In some embodiments, the cavity may be generally elongated and have sufficient volume to store numerous types of sport garments and balls. In one embodiment, the primary cavity is sized and dimensioned to snugly contain a plurality of sport garments and a plurality of baseballs while allowing minimal space for movement. For example, the panels 104, 106 may have a length slightly longer than baseball cleats and a baseball uniform to compensate for expansion and movement of the baseball cleats and a baseball uniform.

The top portion 112 may be oriented towards a user's head while the container 102 is mounted to the back of the user. Conversely, the bottom portion 114 oriented towards a user's legs while the container 102 is mounted to the back of the user. In one embodiment, the front panel 104 and at least one sidewall 108a, 108b includes visible logos, colors, images, and patterns.

    [0040] In some embodiments, the primary cavity forms between the front panel 104, the mount panel 106, and the at least one sidewall 108a, 108b. The primary cavity is a cavernous region that is effective for containing larger sports equipment that may not require quick access during a game, such as baseball related garments and baseballs. The primary cavity may be segregated into multiple compartments.

A primary fastener 110 at the primary opening helps regulates access to the primary cavity. Through manipulation of the primary fastener 110, the sport garments, baseball, and other baseball related equipment may be deposited and removed from the container 102 in a quick, efficient manner. The primary fastener 110 may include, without limitation, a zipper, a hook and loop fastener, an adhesive, a button, a latch, a friction-fit mechanism, and a magnet.

The at least one front pouch provides a secondary means for storage that is segregated from the primary cavity. The at least one front pouch may include a pouch fastener to regulate access to the contents therein. The rigid configuration of the top hard case 116 protects the glasses from impact and other physical damage. In one embodiment, the glasses are sun visors typically worn on a baseball field. The bottom hard case 120 may be shaped and dimensioned in the general shape of a sport glove. In one embodiment, the sport glove may include, without limitation, a baseball fielder's glove, a baseball catcher's glove, a softball glove, a cricket glove, and any glove or mitten associated with a sport. This resilient material is efficacious for creating a tubular compartment to hold the sport stick. The latch member 130 is configured to securely retain, and easily release a head protection equipment. The latch member 130 may include, without limitation, a hook, a C-ring, a clasp, and a magnet. The latch member 130 retains the head protection equipment in such a manner, that quick access and removal of the head protection equipment is possible.

The at least one mounting member 132a, 132b enables a user to mount the container 102 on the back of a user, and carry the container 102 and contents therein hands-free. In one possible embodiment, the handle 134 may include complementary straps on the top portion 112 of the container 102.
