Abstract

An aqueous cleansing composition comprises at least one amino acid surfactant, an aqueous non-ionic emulsion of divinyldimethicone/dimethicone copolymer, and at least one additional anionic surfactant, other than the at least one amino acid surfactant, wherein the at least one amino acid surfactant comprises at least one glutamate surfactant according to the general formula

wherein R.sub.1 is a saturated or unsaturated, straight or branched alkyl chain with 7 to 17 carbon atoms, and M is independent from each other H, sodium or potassium, and optionally at least one sarcosinate surfactant according to the general formula

wherein R.sub.1 is a saturated or unsaturated, straight or branched alkyl chain with 7 to 17 carbon atoms, and M is H, sodium or potassium, and further wherein the aqueous cleansing composition is an aqueous hair cleansing composition.

Claims

1- An aqueous cleansing composition comprises: at least one amino acid surfactant; an aqueous non-ionic emulsion of divinyldimethicone/dimethicone copolymer with an internal phase viscosity of more than 1×10.sup.8 mm.sup.2/s measured at 0.01 Hz and at 25° C.; and at least one additional anionic surfactant, other than the at least one amino acid surfactant, at a concentration of 2 to 25% by weight calculated to total composition, wherein the at least one amino acid surfactant comprises: at least one glutamate surfactant according to the general formula ##STR00017## wherein R.sub.1 is a saturated or unsaturated, straight or branched alkyl chain with 7 to 17 carbon atoms, and M is independent from each other H, sodium or potassium, and optionally at least one sarcosinate surfactant according to the general formula ##STR00018## wherein R.sub.1 is a saturated or unsaturated, straight or branched alkyl chain with 7 to 17 carbon atoms, and M is H, sodium or potassium; and further wherein the aqueous cleansing composition is an aqueous hair cleansing composition.

2- The cleansing composition according to claim 1, wherein the at least one amino acid surfactant is present at a concentration of 0.1 to 15% by weight, calculated by weight of total cleansing composition, and the aqueous non-ionic emulsion of divinyldimethicone/dimethicone copolymer is present at a concentration of 0.01 to 10% by weight, calculated to total cleansing composition.

3- The cleansing composition according to claim 1, further comprising at least one non-ionic surfactant according to the general formula
R.sub.8—O—(R.sub.9O).sub.n—Z.sub.x, wherein R.sub.8 is an alkyl group with 8 to 18 carbon atoms, R.sub.9 is an ethylene or propylene group, Z is a saccharide group with 5 to 6 carbon atoms, n is a number from 0 to 10 and x is a number between 1 and 5.

4- The cleansing composition according to claim 1, further comprising at least one amphoteric surfactant selected from betaines, amidoalkyl betaines and sulfobetaines, and mixtures thereof.

5- The cleansing composition according to claim 1, wherein the at least one amino acid surfactant further comprises at least one selected from: a taurate surfactant according to the general formula ##STR00019## wherein R.sub.1 is a saturated or unsaturated, straight or branched alkyl chain with 7 to 17 carbon atoms, R.sub.2 is H or methyl, and M is H, sodium or potassium; an alanine or alaninate surfactant according to the general formula ##STR00020## wherein R.sub.1 is a saturated or unsaturated, straight or branched alkyl chain with 7 to 17 carbon atoms, R.sub.2 is H or methyl and M is H, sodium or potassium; a glycine surfactant according to the general formula ##STR00021## wherein R.sub.1 is a saturated or unsaturated, straight or branched alkyl chain with 7 to 17 carbon atoms, and M is H, sodium or potassium; and an aspartate surfactant according to the general formula ##STR00022## wherein R.sub.1 is a saturated or unsaturated, straight or branched alkyl chain with 7 to 17 carbon atoms, and M is independent from each other H, sodium or potassium.

6- The cleansing composition according to claim 1, wherein the at least one glutamate surfactant is selected from the group consisting of dipotassium capryloyl glutamate, dipotassium undecylenoyl glutamate, disodium capryloyl glutamate, disodium cocoyl glutamate, disodium lauroyl glutamate, disodium stearoyl glutamate, disodium undecylenoyl glutamate, potassium capryloyl glutamate, potassium cocoyl glutamate, potassium lauroyl glutamate, potassium myristoyl glutamate, potassium stearoyl glutamate, potassium undecylenoyl glutamate, sodium capryloyl glutamate, sodium cocoyl glutamate, sodium lauroyl glutamate, sodium myristoyl glutamate, sodium olivoyl glutamate, sodium palmitoyl glutamate, sodium stearoyl glutamate, and sodium undecylenoyl glutamate

7- The cleansing composition according to claim 6, wherein the at least one sarcosinate surfactant is present in the cleansing composition and is selected from the group consisting of potassium lauroyl sarcosinate, potassium cocoyl sarcosinate, sodium cocoyl sarcosinate, sodium lauroyl sarcosinate, sodium myristoyl sarcosinate, sodium palmitoyl sarcosinate, potassium lauroyl sarcosinate, potassium cocoyl sarcosinate, sodium cocoyl sarcosinate, sodium lauroyl sarcosinate, and mixtures thereof.

8- The cleansing composition according to claim 1, further comprising at least one selected from: at least one glyceryl ether of the following formula ##STR00023## wherein R.sub.12 is straight or branched, saturated or unsaturated alkyl chain with 4 to 24 carbon atoms and R.sub.13 is H, or straight or branched, saturated or unsaturated alkyl chain with 4 to 24 carbon atoms; and at least one fatty alcohol of the following formula
R.sub.11—OH wherein R.sub.11 is straight or branched, saturated or unsaturated alkyl chain with 8 to 24 carbon atoms.

9- The cleansing composition according to claim 8, wherein the at least one glyceryl ether is selected from group consisting of glyceryl butyl ether, glyceryl isobutyl ether, glyceryl tert-butyl ether, glyceryl pentyl ether, glyceryl isopentyl ether, glyceryl hexyl ether, glyceryl isohexyl ether, glyceryl heptyl ether, glyceryl octyl ether, glyceryl ethylhexyl ether, glyceryl nonyl ether, glyceryl decyl ether, glyceryl isodecyl ether, glyceryl lauryl ether, glyceryl myristyl ether, glyceryl palmityl ether, glyceryl stearyl ether and glyceryl behenyl ether and their mixtures, preferably glyceryl butyl ether, glyceryl isobutyl ether, glyceryl tert-butyl ether, glyceryl pentyl ether, glyceryl isopentyl ether, glyceryl hexyl ether, glyceryl isohexyl ether, glyceryl heptyl ether, glyceryl octyl ether, glyceryl ethylhexyl ether, glyceryl nonyl ether, glyceryl decyl ether, glyceryl isodecyl ether are glyceryl lauryl ether and mixtures thereof, and the at least one fatty alcohol is selected from the group consisting of decyl alcohol, myristyl alcohol, lauryl alcohol, cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, behenyl alcohol, arachidyl alcohol, decyl alcohol, myristyl alcohol, lauryl alcohol, cetyl alcohol, and stearyl alcohol and their mixtures, and most preferably decyl alcohol, myristyl alcohol, lauryl alcohol and mixtures thereof.

10- The cleansing composition according to claim 1, further comprising at least one conditioning agent.

11- The cleansing composition according to claim 10, wherein the at least one conditioning agent is selected from the group consisting of silicone oils, either volatile or non-volatile, natural oils and synthetic oils.

12- The cleansing composition according to claim 1, further comprising at least one selected from: at least one UV filter; and at least one direct dye.

13- The cleansing composition according to claim 1, wherein the aqueous hair cleansing composition is a human hair shampoo composition.

14- The cleansing composition according to claim 1, wherein the at least one additional anionic surfactant, other than the at least one amino acid surfactant, comprises at least one ether sulfate.

15- The cleansing composition according to claim 14, wherein the at least one ether sulfate comprises lauryl ether sulphate sodium salt.

16- A method comprising: conditioning damaged human hair by washing the damaged human hair with the cleansing composition according to claim 1.

[0096] The above shampoo was judged to have rich and creamy foam in a monadic test by the volunteers. It was furthermore mentioned that it foams very quickly. Hair washed with the above shampoo is easy to comb, feels soft upon touching and has good shine.
