    Abstract

    Disclosed in the current invention is a way to build a low cost and highly efficient surf pool by using diverging and converging swells to create waves for surfing. When a plurality of individual plunger wave generating devices or a single triangle pyramid shaped plunger, force a diverging swell into a first end of a surf pool. The swell then diverges or expands outward until the swell is wide enough to break over an artificial surfing reef. When a plurality of individual plunger wave generating devices in different opposite locations in the surf pool pushes a swell into the surf pool, as the swell transverses it converges into a single swell, which then continues to travel and breaks over an artificial surfing reef.

    Claims

    1. A triangle shaped surf pool with a V shaped back generator wall for creating surfing waves when a plurality of individual plunger wave generating devices push a diverging expanding swell into a first end of the surf pool comprising: an apex within the V shaped backed generator wall and, a first deep area in front of the plurality of individual plunger wave generating devices for creating a diverging swell upon activation of the plurality of individual plunger wave generating devices and, a first artificial reef following the first deep area, the artificial reef causing the diverging swell to become a first surfable wave and, a second triangle pyramid plunger positioned near the end of the surf pool followed by a second deep area and, a second artificial reef following the second deep area, the artificial reef causing the diverging swell to become a second surfing wave and, a side artificial reef located on both sides of the triangle shaped surf pool and, a paddle channel that runs between the side reefs and the middle artificial reef.

    2. A triangle shaped surf pool with a V shaped back generator wall as cited in claim 1, for creating surfing waves when a triangle pyramid shaped plunger pushes a diverging swell into a first end of the surf pool comprising: an apex within the V shaped backed generator wall and, a first deep area located in front of the triangle pyramid shaped plunger for creating a diverging swell upon activation of the triangle pyramid shaped plunger and, a first artificial reef following the first deep area, the artificial reef causing the diverging swell to become a first surfable wave and, a second triangle pyramid plunger near the end of the surf pool followed by a second deep area and, a second artificial reef following the second deep area, the artificial reef causing the diverging swell to become a second surfing wave and, a side artificial reef located on both sides of the triangle shaped surf pool and, a paddle channel that runs between the side reefs and the middle artificial reef.

    3. A horse shoe U shaped surf pool for creating surfing waves when a plurality of individual plunger wave generating devices push out a converging swell along the left side and right side of the surf pool and, wherein the left and right swell converge into one swell and, wherein the converging swell then breaks over artificial surfing reef to create a wave for surfing.

    4. A plurality of individual plunger wave generating devices positioned along a triangle shaped wave generator wall that pushes diverging swells into a surf pool and, wherein the plurality of individual plunger wave generating devices are positioned along each side of the triangle shaped wave generating wall and, wherein the diverging swell is pushed out at an angle that breaks over the contoured bottom of the surf pool to create a wave for surfing and, wherein the bottom contours of the surf pool are positioned at different peel angles to the swell from 25-70 degrees and, wherein the individual plunger wave generating devices can actuate in delayed timed sequence where the swell peel angle can be adjusted by the actuating time delay of each individual plunger wave generating device causing the swell to interact with the bottom contours at different angles creating different peel angles and waves in the surf pool.

A triangle shaped surf pool with a V shaped back generator wall as cited in claim 1, further comprising, an apex with in the V shaped back generator wall and, a first V shaped back wave generating wall comprising of a triangle pyramid shaped plunger and, wherein the triangle pyramid shaped plunger pushes a diverging swell into the surf pool and, wherein the swell transverses and breaks over first beach artificial reef and, wherein at the rear of the first beach artificial reef is a second V shaped back wave generating wall comprising of a second triangle pyramid shaped plunger and, wherein the second triangle pyramid shaped plunger pushes a diverging swell into the surf pool and the swell breaks over the second beach artificial reef and, wherein at the rear of the second beach artificial reef is a third V shaped back wave generating wall comprising of a third triangle pyramid shaped plunger and, wherein the third triangle pyramid shaped plunger pushes a diverging swell into the surf pool which breaks over a third beach artificial reef and, wherein there is a paddle channel that runs down both sides of the surf pool along the beach reefs.

A triangle shaped surf pool with a V shaped back generator wall as cited in claim 1, further comprising, an apex within the V shaped back generator wall and, a first V shaped back wave generating wall comprising plurality of individual plunger wave generating devices and, wherein the plurality of individual plunger wave generating devices pushes a diverging swell into the surf pool and, wherein the swell transverses and breaks over first beach artificial reef and, wherein at the rear of the first beach artificial reef is a second V shaped back wave generating wall comprising plurality of individual plunger wave generating devices and, wherein the second plurality of individual plunger wave generating devices pushes a diverging swell into the surf pool and the swell breaks over the second beach artificial reef and, wherein at the rear of the second beach artificial reef is a third V shaped back wave generating wall comprising of a third plurality of individual plunger wave generating devices and, wherein the third plurality of individual plunger wave generating devices pushes a diverging swell into the surf pool which breaks over a third beach artificial reef and, wherein there is a paddle channel that runs down both sides of the surf pool along the beach reefs.

    7. A plurality of individual plunger wave generating devices positioned along a square shaped wave generating wall and, wherein a triangle pyramid plunger is positioned at each of the four corners of the square and, wherein the triangle pyramid plunger pushes out a diverging swell that expands and breaks over an artificial surfing reef and, wherein a plurality of individual plunger wave making devices are positioned along a straight line pushing out a diverging swell which break over an artificial reef.

    DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

    [0021] FIG. 1. Is a top-down view of the triangle shaped surf pool 2. The individual plunger wave making devices 1, is located at the apex 5 of the triangle shaped surf pool 2. The individual plunger wave making devices 1 oscillates up and down and pushes a diverging swell 4 out into the triangle shaped surf pool 2. As the individual plunger wave making devices 1 pushes a transverse diverging swell into the triangle shaped surf pool 2, the swell creates deflection and diverges the wave to expand outward creating a diverging swell 4. The diverging swells 4 break over the side reefs 3 and also break over the first A frame artificial reef 7. The diverging swells 4 then continue toward the end of the triangle shaped surf pool 2 where the diverging swells 4 diminish in size, where they are then reformed using a second triangle pyramid plunger 22. The diverging swell 4 then encounters a deeper reform section 8 where the diverging swell 4 is then reformed into a larger diverging swell 4.

    [0023] The individual plunger wave making devices 1 oscillate on both sides at the same time and push out a diverging swell 4. The swell travels along the side reefs 12. The diverging swell 4 creates a point break style wave. The diverging swell 4 on each side of the horse shoe pool 10, converge at the converging point 13.

The Diverging swell 4, can break over any number of reefs as the diverging swell is wide enough to create breaking waves. In this FIG. 4, there is a triangular shaped reef 7. These triangular reefs (A frames), cause the wave to break both left and right at the same time called an A Frame Wave 19.

On each corner of the square, is a triangle pyramid plunger 22. The individual plunger wave makers 1 push out an expanding swell 4, which break over an artificial reef 7. The triangle pyramid plunger 22 also push off a swell off each of the four corners.
