Article of Decorative Clothing Worn Around the Shirt Collar

Abstract

An article of decorative clothing worn around the shirt collar includes a bowtie portion, a necktie portion, and an upper fastener. The bowtie portion includes a middle section, a first wing, and a second wing. The first wing and the second wing are oppositely positioned from each other about the middle section. The first wing is terminally connected to the middle section. The second wing is terminally connected to the middle section. The necktie portion is adjacently connected to the middle section. The upper fastener is integrated into the middle section so that the article of decorative clothing worn around the shirt collar can be secured to a shirt collar.

Claims

1. An article of decorative clothing worn around the shirt collar comprising: a bowtie portion; a necktie portion; an upper fastener; a bowtie portion comprising a middle section, a first wing, and a second wing; the first wing and the second wing being oppositely positioned from each other about the middle section; the first wing being terminally connected to the middle section; the second wing being terminally connected to the middle section; the necktie portion being adjacently connected to the middle section; and the upper fastener being integrated into the middle section.

2. The article of decorative clothing worn around the shirt collar as claimed in claim 1, wherein the upper fastener is connected into a rear surface of the middle section.

3. The article of decorative clothing worn around the shirt collar as claimed in claim 1, wherein the upper fastener is a flexible strap fastener.

4. The article of decorative clothing worn around the shirt collar as claimed in claim 1 comprising: a necktie portion comprising a knot section and an elongated section; the elongated section being adjacently connected the knot section; and the elongated section and the bowtie portion being oppositely positioned of each other about the knot section.

5. The article of decorative clothing worn around the shirt collar as claimed in claim 4 comprising: a clip-on fastener; and the clip-on fastener being connected into a rear surface of the knot section.

6. The article of decorative clothing worn around the shirt collar as claimed in claim 4 comprising: a tail section; the tail section being terminally connected to the knot section; the tail section being adjacently positioned to a rear surface of the elongated section; and the tail section being extended along the elongated section.

[0010] The present invention is an article of decorative clothing worn around the shirt collar. More specifically, the present invention combines the appearance of the necktie and the bowtie into a single decorative clothing article. The present invention is preferably constructed of a fabric material comprising any pattern or design but may also be constructed of other materials or combinations thereof.

[0011] The present invention comprises a bowtie portion 1, a necktie portion 6, and an upper fastener 10 as shown in FIG. 1. In reference to the general configuration of the present invention, the bowtie portion 1 is adjacently connected to the necktie portion 6 so that the overall configuration of the present invention can be delineated. The upper fastener 10 is integrated into the bowtie portion 1 so that the bowtie portion 1 and the necktie portion 6 can be hung from the shirt collar. In other words, the necktie portion 6 is adjacently connected to a middle section 2 of the bowtie portion 1 as the upper fastener 10 is integrated into the middle section 2. As a result, the bowtie portion 1 generally covers the top button of the shirt thus allowing the necktie portion 6 to hang down the front placket of the shirt.

[0012] The bowtie portion 1 is shaped to similar to existing bowties. The bowtie portion 1 is designed to generally cover the collar ends of the shirt and the top button of the shirt so that the user can attain a decorative appearance for the neck area. In reference to FIG. 1, the bowtie portion 1 comprises the middle section 2, a first wing 4, and a second wing 5. More specifically, the first wing 4 and the second wing 5 are oppositely positioned from each other about the middle section 2 that is generally smaller than the first wing 4 and the second wing 5. The first wing 4 is terminally connected to the middle section 2 and outwardly extended from the middle section 2. The second wing 5 is terminally connected to the middle section 2 and outwardly extended from the middle section 2.

[0013] The upper fastener 10 that secures the bowtie portion 1 and the necktie portion 6 to the shirt collar is connected into a rear surface 3 of the middle section 2 so that the upper fastener 10 can be hidden between the bowtie portion 1 and the shirt collar. In reference to FIG. 2-3, the upper fastener 10 is preferably a flexible strap fastener so that the user can easily secures the present invention around their neck.

[0014] In some embodiment of the present invention, the flexible strap fastener can comprise a single strap, a first fastener, a second fastener, a length adjustment clip as shown in FIG. 2. More specifically, the length adjustment clip is integrated into the single strap so that the user can adjust the overall length of the single strap. A fix end of the single strap is connected onto the middle section 2 so that the single strap can be secured. The first fastener is connected onto a free end of the single strap. The second fastener is connected onto the middle section 2 so that the first fastener can easily engaged with the second fastener. As a result of the engagement of the first fastener and the second fastener, the single strap is able to loop around the shirt collar thus securing the present invention to the shirt collar.

[0015] In some embodiment of the present invention, the flexible strap fastener can comprise a first strap, a second strap, a first fastener, a second fastener, a length adjustment clip as shown in FIG. 3. More specifically, the length adjustment clip is integrated into either the first strap or the second strap so that the user can adjust the overall length of the corresponding strap. A fix end of the first strap is connected onto the middle section 2 so that the first strap can be secured adjacent to the first wing 4. The first fastener is connected onto a free end of the first strap. A fix end of the second strap is connected onto the middle section 2 so that the second strap can be secured adjacent to the second wing 5. The second fastener is connected onto a free end of the second strap. As a result of the engagement of the first fastener and the second fastener, the first strap and the second trap are able to loop around the shirt collar thus securing the present invention to the shirt collar.

[0016] In some embodiment of the present invention, the upper fastener 10 can be an elongated pin that traverses along the middle section 2. More specifically, a first pin-end is extended towards the first wing 4, and a second pin-end is extended towards the second wing 5. As a result, the first pin-end and the second pin-end can be inserted into each respective collar opening to secure the present invention to the shirt collar.

[0017] The aforementioned first fastener and the second fastener can be any types of fasteners that can interlock with each other. For example, when the first fastener is a hook fastener, the second fastener has to be a loop fastener so that the hook fastener can engage with the loop fastener. When the first fastener is a male fastener, the second fastener has to be a female fastener so that the male fastener can engage with the female fastener.

The necktie portion 6 is designed to generally cover the front placket of the shirt so that the user can attain a decorative appearance for the chest area. In reference to FIG. 1, the necktie portion 6 comprises a knot section 7 and an elongated section 9. The elongated section 9 is adjacently connected to the knot section 7 and downwardly extended along the front placket of the shirt. The elongated section 9 functions similar to a blade section of a knotted necktie, also known as the main lower section. The elongated section 9 and the bowtie portion 1 are oppositely positioned of each other about the knot section 7, wherein the knot section 7 functions a connector body between the bowtie portion 1 and the elongated section 9. A bottom end of the elongated section 9 is preferably formed into an arrow-shaped tip but can be formed into any other shaped tip other than the arrow-shaped tip.

[0019] The necktie portion 6 can further comprise a tail section 13 that is terminally connected to the knot section 7. In reference to FIG. 2-4, the tail section 13 is adjacently positioned to the rear surface 12 of the elongated section 9 and extended along a rear surface 12 of the elongated section 9. More specifically, the tail section 13 is slightly smaller than the elongated section 9 and positioned behind the elongated section 9. The tail section 13 functions as a narrow end of a knotted necktie that generally hangs behind the blade section. The necktie portion 6 can further comprise a loop that is positioned adjacent to the bottom end of the elongated section 9. The loop is connected to the rear surface 12 of the elongated section 9 so that the tail section can be inserted through the loop to keep the tail section 13 in place.

[0020] The present invention further comprises a clip-on fastener 11 to further secure the necktie portion 6 to the shirt collar as shown in FIG. 4. More specifically, the clip-on fastener 11 is connected into a rear surface 8 of the knot section 7 so that the necktie portion 6 can further secured into the shirt collar. In other words, the clip-on fastener 11 is able to crimp the shirt collar against the knot section 7 so that the necktie portion 6 can further secured to the shirt collar.
