    Abstract

    The invention relates to a dressing (1) for treating wounds in damp or wet situations, comprising: a) a suction/rinsing body (2) which is supplied by the manufacturer with a saline aqueous solution, particularly a Ringer's solution, said solution preferably containing a substance exhibiting an antimicrobial effect, b) a planar carrier material (3) which is arranged on the side of the suction/rinsing body (2) that faces away from the wound and which projects over said suction/rinsing body (2) such that an edge extending around all sides of the suction/rinsing body (2) is formed, said edge being provided, with a layer of a skin-compatible silicone adhesive (4) on the side facing the wound, and c) a first protective layer (5) that covers the layer of a skin-compatible silicone adhesive (4) on the side facing the wound, characterized in that the wound dressing (1) comprises a second protective layer (6) arranged on the side of the carrier material (3) facing away from the wound, wherein both the first and the second protective layers (5,6) fully project beyond the carrier material (3), wherein the first protective layer (5) forms an opening that leaves the suction/rinsing body (2) uncovered, and wherein the first and second protective layers (5,6) protect the layer of a skin-compatible silicone adhesive (4) from contact with liquid and steam.

    Claims

    1. A wound dressing (1) for wound treatment in a moist or wet environment, comprising: a) a suction/rinsing body (2) treated by the manufacturer with a saline aqueous solution; b) a sheetlike backing material (3), which is disposed on the side of the suction/rinsing body (2) facing away from the wound and which overhangs the suction/rinsing body (2) in such a way as to form, surrounding the suction/rinsing body (2) on all sides, an edge which is provided, on the wound-facing side, with a layer of a skin-compatible silicone adhesive (4); and, c) a first protective layer (5), which lines the layer of a skin-compatible silicone adhesive (4) on the wound-facing side, wherein the wound dressing (1) has a second protective layer (6), which is disposed on the side of the backing material (3) facing away from the wound, with both the first and the second protective layers (5,6) whole-sidedly overhanging the backing material (3), the first protective layer (5) forming an opening which leaves the suction/rinsing body (2) uncovered, and the first and second protective layers (5,6) protecting the layer of skin-compatible silicone adhesive (4) from contact with fluid and water vapor.

    2. The wound dressing (1) of claim 1, wherein the backing material (3) has a ply (3b) of a material which contains openings which are not obturated by silicone adhesive.

    3. The wound dressing (1) of claim 1, wherein the backing material (3) comprises a polymeric film or a textile material.

    4. The wound dressing (1) of claim 1, wherein the backing material (3) comprises a plurality of layers (3a, 3b), with at least one first (3b) and one second (3a) layer, the first layer (3b) having openings which are not obturated by silicone adhesive, and the second layer (3a) being continuous in embodiment.

    5. The wound dressing (1) of claim 1, wherein the first and second protective layers (5,6) consist of polyester.

    6. The wound dressing (1) of claim 1, wherein the second protective layer (6) is of two-part or multipart embodiment.

    7. The wound dressing (1) of claim 1, wherein the second protective layer (6) has a middle region and at least one edge region, the middle region being at least partially provided with an adhesive on the wound-facing side, and the at least one edge region being adhesive-free.

    8. The wound dressing (1) of claim 7, wherein the at least one edge region comprises an additional material section (7) which is connected inseparably to the middle region.

    9. The wound dressing (1) of claim 1, wherein the second protective layer (6) has a separating line (8).

    10. The wound dressing (1) of claim 1, wherein the first and second protective layers (5,6) are firmly connected to one another at one edge side in a hingelike manner by a connecting element (9), the connecting element (9) having at least two mutually movable legs (9a, 9b), and the legs (9a, 9b) of the hingelike connecting element (9) being secured respectively on the inner or outer sides of the two first and second protective layers (5,6) connected to one another.

A packaging (10) for a wound dressing (12) for wound treatment in a moist or wet environment, where the wound dressing (12) comprises: a) a suction/rinsing body (2) treated by the manufacturer with a saline aqueous solution; b) a sheetlike backing material (3), which is disposed on the wound-facing side of the suction/rinsing body (2) and overhangs the suction/rinsing body (2) in such a way as to form, surrounding the suction/rinsing body (2) on all sides, an edge which is provided, on the wound-facing side, with a layer of a skin-compatible adhesive; and c) a protective layer, which lines the layer of a skin-compatible adhesive on the wound-facing side, wherein the packaging comprises a pouch (11) having a first pouch side (11a) composed of a first fluid-impermeable material and a second pouch side (11b) composed of a second fluid-impermeable material, which are connected to one another surroundingly on the edge side in a fluid-tight manner, wherein the first pouch side (11a) has a central region and an edge region, with the edge region surrounding the central region on all sides and the central region having a depression which is shaped for the positioning of the wound dressing (12) in the packaging (10) by means of its suction/rinsing body (2).

The packaging (10) of claim 11, wherein the depression has a shape with a depth, a longitudinal extent and a transverse extent, the shape being complementary to the shape of the suction/rinsing body (2), the shape having a depth which amounts to 50-150% of the thickness of the suction/rinsing body (2) in the dry state, and a longitudinal extent which amounts to 100- 300% of the longitudinal extent of the suction/rinsing body (2) in the dry state, and a transverse extent which amounts to 100-300% of the transverse extent of the suction/rinsing body (2) in the dry state.

    13. The packaging (10) of claim 11, wherein the depression has a shape which is complementary to the shape of the suction/rinsing body (2), and the depression has a volume which is 1-200% greater than the volume of the suction/rinsing body (2) treated fully with saline aqueous solution.

    14. A method for producing a wound management product comprising a wound dressing (1) for wound treatment in a moist or wet environment, comprising: a) a suction/rinsing body (2) treated by the manufacturer with a saline aqueous solution; b) a sheetlike backing material (3), which is disposed on the side of the suction/rinsing body (2) facing away from the wound and which overhangs the suction/rinsing body (2) in such a way as to form, surrounding the suction/rinsing body (2) on all sides, an edge which is provided, on the wound-facing side, with a layer of a skin-compatible silicone adhesive (4); and, c) a first protective layer (5), which lines the layer of a skin-compatible silicone adhesive (4) on the wound-facing side, wherein the wound dressing (1) has a second protective layer (6), which is disposed on the side of the backing material (3) facing away from the wound, with both the first and the second protective layers (5,6) whole-sidedly overhanging the backing material (3), the first protective layer (5) forming an opening which leaves the suction/rinsing body (2) uncovered, and the first and second protective layers (5,6) protecting the layer of skin-compatible silicone adhesive (4) from contact with fluid and water vapor and packaging (10) for a wound dressing (12) for wound treatment in a moist or wet environment, where the wound dressing (12) comprises: a) a suction/rinsing body (2) treated by the manufacturer with a saline aqueous solution; b) a sheetlike backing material (3), which is disposed on the wound-facing side of the suction/rinsing body (2) and overhangs the suction/rinsing body (2) in such a way as to form, surrounding the suction/rinsing body (2) on all sides, an edge which is provided, on the wound-facing side, with a layer of a skin-compatible adhesive; and, c) a protective layer, which lines the layer of a skin-compatible adhesive on the wound-facing side, wherein the packaging comprises a pouch (11) having a first pouch side (11a) composed of a first fluid-impermeable material and a second pouch side (11b) composed of a second fluid-impermeable material, which are connected to one another surroundingly on the edge side in a fluid-tight manner, wherein the first pouch side (11a) has a central region and an edge region, with the edge region surrounding the central region on all sides and the central region having a depression which is shaped for the positioning of the wound dressing (12) in the packaging (10) by means of its suction/rinsing body (2), wherein the method comprises the following steps: a) providing a first pouch side (11a) composed of a first liquid-impermeable material, b) providing a depression in a central region of the first pouch side (11a) in a thermoforming process, c) filling the depression with a defined amount of saline aqueous solution, d) placing the wound dressing (1) onto the first pouch side (11a), the wound dressing (1) being positioned by means of its suction/rinsing body (2) in the depression, e) laying-on a second pouch side (11b) composed of a second liquid-impermeable material, f) fluid-tightly sealing the first and second pouch sides (11a, 11b) along a connecting line surrounding the entire wound dressing (1) on all sides, and g) sterilizing.

    15. A kit for use in wound management, comprising at least one first wound dressing (1) and at least one second wound dressing (1) each of at least one first wound dressing and at least one second wound dressing comprising a wound dressing (1) for wound treatment in a moist or wet environment, comprising: a) a suction/rinsing body (2) treated by the manufacturer with a saline aqueous solution, b) a sheetlike backing material (3), which is disposed on the side of the suction/rinsing body (2) facing away from the wound and which overhangs the suction/rinsing body (2) in such a way as to form, surrounding the suction/rinsing body (2) on all sides, an edge which is provided, on the wound-facing side, with a layer of a skin-compatible silicone adhesive (4); and, c) a first protective layer (5), which lines the layer of a skin-compatible silicone adhesive (4) on the wound-facing side, wherein the wound dressing (1) has a second protective layer (6), which is disposed on the side of the backing material (3) facing away from the wound, with both the first and the second protective layers (5,6) whole-sidedly overhanging the backing material (3), the first protective layer (5) forming an opening which leaves the suction/rinsing body (2) uncovered, and the first and second protective layers (5,6) protecting the layer of skin-compatible silicone adhesive (4) from contact with fluid and water vapor, the first wound dressing (1) having a first suction/rinsing body (2) with a thickness and a first geometric shape, and the second wound dressing (1) having a suction/rinsing body (2) with a thickness and a second geometric shape, wherein the thickness of the first suction/rinsing body (2) is identical to the thickness of the second suction/rinsing body (2) and in that the first geometric shape is different from the second geometric shape.

    [0074] FIGS. 1 and 2 show a wound dressing (1) of the invention, comprising a suction/rinsing body (2) treated by the manufacturer with Ringer's solution, and a sheetlike backing material (3) on the side of the suction/rinsing body (2) facing away from the wound. The sheetlike backing material (3) is a two-layer material comprising a fluid-impermeable and water vapor-permeable outer layer (3a) composed of a polyurethane, and a perforated polyurethane film (3b) on the wound-facing side. The openings in the perforated polyurethane film (3b) have an approximately circular shape. On the wound-facing side, the polyurethane film (3b) is provided with a skin-compatible silicone adhesive (4). The openings in the film layer here are not obturated by the silicone adhesive.
