    Abstract

A game board for a cornhole game that can be stacked over another game board.

    Claims

    1. A game board for a cornhole game, the game board consisting essentially of: a platform having two opposite long sides and two opposite short sides, the two opposite short sides include a first short side and a second short side; a hole in the platform near the first short side; and two legs extend downwards from corners of the first short side, wherein the two legs are slightly offset from a perpendicular axis through the platform such as the game board can be stacked over another game board, wherein the two legs of the game board slide over two legs of the lower game board and the platform of the game board rest on a platform of the lower game board.

    2. The game board according to claim 1, wherein the platform of the game board is sloped and an angle of slope is proportional to a length of the two legs.

    3. The game board according to claim 1, wherein the platform and the two legs are integral.

    Description

    BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0016] The accompanying figures, which are incorporated herein, form part of the specification and illustrate embodiments of the present invention. Together with the description, the figures further explain the principles of the present invention and to enable a person skilled in the relevant arts to make and use the invention.

[0017] FIG. 1 shows an exemplary embodiment of the game board, according to the present invention.

[0018] FIG. 2 shows two stacked game boards, according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention.

    DETAILED DESCRIPTION

[0019] Subject matter will now be described more fully hereinafter with reference to the accompanying drawings, which form a part hereof, and which show, by way of illustration, specific exemplary embodiments. Subject matter may, however, be embodied in a variety of different forms and, therefore, covered or claimed subject matter is intended to be construed as not being limited to any exemplary embodiments set forth herein; exemplary embodiments are provided merely to be illustrative. Likewise, a reasonably broad scope for claimed or covered subject matter is intended. Among other things, for example, the subject matter may be embodied as methods, devices, components, or systems. The following detailed description is, therefore, not intended to be taken in a limiting sense.

[0020] The word “exemplary” is used herein to mean “serving as an example, instance, or illustration.” Any embodiment described herein as “exemplary” is not necessarily to be construed as preferred or advantageous over other embodiments. Likewise, the term “embodiments of the present invention” does not require that all embodiments of the invention include the discussed feature, advantage or mode of operation.

[0021] The terminology used herein is for the purpose of describing particular embodiments only and is not intended to be limiting of embodiments of the invention. As used herein, the singular forms “a”, “an” and “the” are intended to include the plural forms as well, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise. It will be further understood that the terms “comprises”, “comprising,”, “includes” and/or “including”, when used herein, specify the presence of stated features, integers, steps, operations, elements, and/or components, but do not preclude the presence or addition of one or more other features, integers, steps, operations, elements, components, and/or groups thereof.

[0022] The following detailed description includes the best currently contemplated mode or modes of carrying out exemplary embodiments of the invention. The description is not to be taken in a limiting sense but is made merely for the purpose of illustrating the general principles of the invention, since the scope of the invention will be best defined by the allowed claims of any resulting patent.

[0023] Referring to FIG. 1 which shows an exemplary embodiment of the disclosed game board for the cornhole game. The game board 100 can include a platform 110 which can be rectangular having two parallel short sides and two parallel long sides. The top surface of the platform can be flat with a round hole 120 near one of the short sides, referred to hereinafter as the first short side 130 of the two opposite short sides of the platform 110. Two legs 140 can be provided at corners of the first short side 130 extending downwards, while the other side does not have any legs. Such an arrangement of the two legs results in the sloped platform wherein the angle by which the platform is sloped can be proportional to the length of the two legs. The two legs can be of the same length. The two legs are not perpendicular to the platform but slightly offset to a perpendicular axis through the platform. As can be seen in FIG. 1 the two legs extend slightly outwards such as one game board can be stacked over another game board. By being stacked, two legs of the upper game board can slide over the two legs of the lower game board and the platform of the upper game board rest upon the platform of the lower game board. This provided stability to the stack of game boards while storage and transportation and takes less storage space. FIG. 2 shows two game boards, the upper game board 210 and the lower game board 220, stacked one over another, wherein the legs of the two game boards are closely held against each other providing stability to the stack of game boards. Two or more game boards can be stacked for storage and transportation.

[0024] The disclosed game board can be manufactured in a range of sizes and designs. For example, different colors and patterns can be used in the manufacture of the game board. The game board can be designed in standard sizes, such as the platform can be 2 by 4 feet and the diameter and position of the hole can also be according to the rules of the game. Additionally, the slope of the platform can also be according to the rules of the game. However, the game board of different dimensions can be within the scope of the present invention.

[0025] Also, it can be seen in FIG. 1 that the legs and the platform are integral. The disclosed game board can be manufactured in one piece. For example, the game board can be manufactured from a plastic material using a molding process. However, any other material and process can be used for the manufacturing of the game boards without departing from the scope of the present invention.

[0026] While the foregoing written description of the invention enables one of ordinary skill to make and use what is considered presently to be the best mode thereof, those of ordinary skill will understand and appreciate the existence of variations, combinations, and equivalents of the specific embodiment, method, and examples herein. The invention should therefore not be limited by the above-described embodiment, method, and examples, but by all embodiments and methods within the scope and spirit of the invention as claimed.
