DETAILED DESCRIPTION
[0060] Please refer to
[0061] The fixing connector 610 includes an Edison socket 603 and a fixing bracket 602. The Edison socket 603 may be any of various standards of Edison sockets widely used in the market. The bracket may be a housing integrated or assembled to be connected to the Edison socket. A wiring hole may be provided on the bracket for connecting a power wire. Screws, buckles or clips may be added on the bracket to be attach to a platform 601, e.g. a Junction Box, a UL Box or other platform to install the lighting apparatus.
[0062] The base holder 606 includes an Edison cap 604, a base wall 607 and a base plate 609.
[0063] The Edison cap 604 is placed on a top side 611 of the base plate 609.
[0064] The base wall 607 surrounds the Edison cap 604.
[0065] The Edison cap 604 is detachably inserted into the Edison socket 603 of the fixing connector 610.
[0066] The light source 671 is disposed on a bottom side 612 of the base plate 609.
[0067] The top side 611 and the bottom side 612 of the base plate are opposite.
[0068] The light passing cover 670 is attached to the bottom side 612 of the base plate 609 for the light source 671 to emit a light 674 to pass through.
[0069] In some embodiments, a first height 681 of the base wall 607 is larger than a second height 682 of the Edison cap 604 to conceal the Edison cap 604 from a lateral view. In other words, if you see the lighting apparatus from a side view, the base wall 607 covers the Edison cap 604. Such design makes the Edison cap to be concealed visually and also prevents dust to enter the area of Edison cap 604.
[0070] In some other embodiments, the Edison cap has a larger height than the base wall so that the Edison cap has a portion protruding above the top edge of the base wall.
[0071] Please see
[0072] In this embodiment, the Edison cap 701 is detached from the fixing connector mentioned above and attached to said another Edison socket 705. There is a protruding connector 702 for increasing the height of the Edison cap 701 with respect to the base wall 703. In other embodiments, the base wall or the Edison cap may be adjusted to have the setting as illustrated in
[0073] In other words, the design provides at least two modes of installing the lighting apparatus. Specifically, in a first mode, the Edison cap is attached to the fixing connector which is further fixed to a platform, e.g. a Junction Box or an UL Box. In a second mode, the Edison cap is attached to another Edison socket directly.
[0074] In
[0075] In some embodiments, in a first mode, the Edison cap is installed to the Edison socket of the fixing connector for routing electricity from an external power source to the light source.
[0076] In a second mode, the Edison cap is detached from the Edison socket of the fixing connector and attached to another Edison socket.
[0077] In some embodiments, in a third mode, the base wall is attached with a pair of elastic units for fixing the base holder to a downlight platform.
[0078] In some embodiments, the pair of elastic units 621 are torsion springs on two opposite sides of the base wall 607.
[0079] In some embodiments, the base plate is a circular disk, and the base wall are extended upwardly from a peripheral edge of the base plate.
[0080] In some embodiments, the light source is a LED module fixed directly on the bottom side of the base plate.
[0081] In some embodiments, e.g. in
[0082] The LED module is attached on the heat sink plate and the heat sink plate is mounted on the bottom side of the base plate.
[0083] In some embodiments, the light passing cover has a circular cover and a circular wall.
[0084] A top edge of the circular wall is fixed to the bottom side of the base plate.
[0085] In some embodiments, as shown in
[0086] The bottom wall 608 surrounds the light source 671.
[0087] The light passing cover 675 is fixed to an edge of the bottom wall 608.
[0088] In some embodiments, an inner surface of the bottom wall has a reflective layer 6081 for guiding the light of the light source to the light passing cover 675.
[0089] In some embodiments, a manual switch 681 is placed on the top side 611 of the base plate 609 for selecting a setting of the light source 671.
[0090] In some embodiments, the light source 671 has multiple types of LED modules 675 with different optical parameters, e.g. having multiple types of LED modules with different color temperatures and/or colors to mix a required color temperature or a required color.
[0091] The setting is corresponding to a mixed parameter by mixing output lights of the multiple types of LED modules.
[0092] In some embodiments, a rotation switch 682 is placed on the top side of the base plate for setting a light intensity of the light source. The rotation switch 682 provides an additional setting candidate. For example, the manual switch 681 is used for selecting a color temperature, and the rotation switch 682 is used for setting a light intensity of the lighting apparatus. Some users may determine not to use the maximum light intensity when installing the lighting apparatus for saving power or have an overall consideration of the illuminance requirement. Two switch design helps a lot on achieving such goal.
[0093] In some embodiments, the Edison cap is detachable from the base holder.
[0094] In
[0095] In some embodiments, a driver 683 is placed on the top side of the base plate 609.
[0096] The driver is surrounded by the base wall 607 so as to be protected by the base wall 607.
[0097] In
[0098] In some embodiments, the extended wire is deformed to change a titl angle 709 of the base holder with respect to the fixing connector.
[0099] Please refer to
[0100] There is a positioning groove 31 corresponding to a positioning bar 112 to ensure the assembly of the Edison cap 30 to be correctly installed to the base plate 11. There is a light passing cover 80 fixed on a bottom side of the base plate 11. There is a fixing unit like a screw 95 to fix the components together.
[0101] Please refer to
[0102] In
[0103] A light source 20 has a substrate 21, which may have a metal layer as a heat sink. As mentioned above, LED modules may be mounted on the substrate 21.
[0104] The light passing cover 80 in this example has a circular cover and a surrounding wall both capable of passing light of the light source 20.
