    Description

    BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWING

[0011] FIG. 1 illustrates a “exray” view of a Automated ‘Extend and Retract’ Sword Of Light of the present disclosure.

    DETAILED DESCRIPTION

[0012] FIG. 1 illustrates an exemplary layout of an Automated ‘Extend and Retract’ Sword of Light 10 of the present disclosure. Sword of light 10 includes the necessary hardware and electrical circuits to provide a functional automated extend and retract sword of light.

[0013] Sword of light 10, in certain embodiments, will include an accessible pommel 12 that provides access to the CO2 cartridge compartment 14 for the installation and replacement of CO2 cartridges.

[0014] Sword of light 10, in certain embodiments, will have an accessible CO2 cartridge compartment 14 that will allow for the installation and replacement of threaded ‘screw top’ CO2 cartridges that will screw into the CO2 high pressure chamber 24.

[0015] Sword of light 10, in certain embodiments, will include a ‘retracted blade’ storage compartment 16 that will allow the blade to retract back into the hilt 20 and out of view.

[0016] Sword of light 10, in certain embodiments, will include a battery compartment 18 that will provide access for battery installation or replacement and configured to provide power to an integrated lighting system (not shown), integrated audio system and/or electric motor (not shown).

[0017] Sword of light 10, in certain embodiments, will include a hilt 20 that houses a CO2 cartridge compartment 14 with an accessible pommel 12, retracted blade storage compartment 16, battery compartment 18, multi-function activation switch 22, CO2 high pressure chamber 24, spring recoil 26, blade retraction cord 28, translucent or transparent blade sections 30, blade section retraction catches 32 and blade retraction cord mount 34.

[0018] Sword of light 10, in certain embodiments, will include a multi-function activation switch 22. It will activate multiple features simultaneously, pressed one time will release the spring recoil auto-locking mechanism (not shown), activate the integrated lighting system (not shown) and release a controlled amount of pressurized CO2 inside the retracted blade sections 30, extending the retracted blade sections 30 while simultaneously unwinding the blade retraction cord 28 and producing the spring tension needed for retraction and secured with the auto-locking mechanism (not shown). When pressed twice the auto-locking mechanism (not shown) is released, retracting the collapsible blade sections 30 to their stored position and deactivates the integrated lighting system (not shown).

[0019] Sword of light 10, in certain embodiments, will include a CO2 high pressure chamber 24 that will be compatible with ‘screw top’ threaded Co2 cartridges and configured with a pressure release valve (not shown) that will extend blade sections 30, unwind the blade retraction cord 28 and produce spring tension in the spring recoil 26.

[0020] Sword of light 10, in certain embodiments, will include spring recoil 26 that will wind and unwind blade retraction cord 28 that will attach to the point of the top blade section 30. Spring recoil 26 will be configured with an auto-locking mechanism (not shown) that will activate when blade sections 30 are extended to their full length or completely retracted.

[0021] Sword of light 10, in certain embodiments, will include a blade retraction cord 28 that will connect to spring recoil 26 at one end and connect to blade retraction cord mount 34 at the other end and will be used to pull the extended blade sections 30 to their stored position.

[0022] Sword of light 10, in certain embodiments, will include multiple translucent or transparent blade sections 30 that will fit inside the blade section directly below it. This will allow blade sections 30 to extend or retract and allow light to illuminate them. Blade sections 30 will remain in their extended position from the friction of the blade section 30 pressed against the walls of the lower blade section 30.

[0023] Sword of light 10, in certain embodiments, will include blade section retraction catches 32 that will prevent blade sections 30 from passing through the larger diameter blade section 30 directly below it, allowing for blade retraction and aiding in the containment of pressurized CO2 during blade extension.

[0024] Sword of light 10, in certain embodiments, will include a blade section retraction cord mount 34 that will attach to the tip of the blade section 30 to provide a strong connecting point for the blade retraction cord 28 and prevent light from passing through the tip of extended blade sections 30.

[0025] In other embodiments of sword of light 10, different embodiments disclosed herein would be replaced with different mechanisms to extend and/or retract blade sections 30, such as a retractable multi-section spring loaded mechanism (not shown), similar to those used in umbrellas that would extend blade sections 30 and/or a battery powered electric motor connected to a blade retraction cord spool (not shown) would retract blade sections 30 to their stored position. Another embodiment could use rubber bands (not shown) that connect the blade sections 30 to one another and a battery powered electric motor (not shown) connected to a blade retraction cord spool (not shown) to retract blade sections 30, when retracted the rubber bands stretch storing elastic tension that will propel the blade sections 30 to their extended position when a auto-locking mechanism (not shown) is released. Furthermore, in certain embodiments of sword of light 10, the hilt would contain an integrated audio system (not shown) to produce sound effects and/or a mechanical device that produces vibrations (not shown). Sword of light 10 will include the necessary hardware, software, memory and electrical circuits to provide a functional automated extend and retract sword of light.
