    Abstract

A toothbrush includes a handle, a head, and a toothed tongue scraper. The toothed tongue scraper is formed with a plurality of concave portions. A receiving recess is formed in the toothed tongue scraper and the handle. The handle and the toothed tongue scraper form the receiving recess jointly. Thus, the toothed tongue scraper and the concave portions scrape and remove the tongue coating efficiently. Besides, the toothed tongue scraper repeatedly carries the tongue coating away from the user's tongue through the receiving recess.

    DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0018] Referring to the drawings and initially to FIGS. 1 and 2, a toothbrush 1 in accordance with the preferred embodiment of the present invention comprises a handle 10. The handle 10 has a first end provided with a head 12 and a second end provided with a toothed (or serrated) tongue scraper 14. The head 12 is provided with bristles. The toothed tongue scraper 14 is formed with a plurality of concave portions 140. A receiving recess 16 is formed in the toothed tongue scraper 14 and the handle 10. The handle 10 and the toothed tongue scraper 14 form the receiving recess 16 jointly.

[0019] In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the toothed tongue scraper 14 is arranged on at least one side and distal end of the handle 10.

[0020] In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the toothed tongue scraper 14 defines a side face 142 directed toward the receiving recess 16.

[0021] In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the side face 142 of the toothed tongue scraper 14 is an arcuate face or a plane.

[0022] In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, a distance “L” is defined between any two of the concave portions 140.

[0023] In use, referring to FIG. 3 with reference to FIGS. 1 and 2, when the toothed tongue scraper 14 touches and is moved on the user's tongue, the side face 142 of the toothed tongue scraper 14 is used to scrape (or scratch) and remove the tongue coating (or fur) from the user's tongue. At this time, the tongue coating is gathered in the receiving recess 16, and is repeatedly carried away from the user's tongue through the receiving recess 16.

[0024] It is appreciated that, the distance “L” is defined between any two of the concave portions 140, such that the toothed tongue scraper 14 is divided into multiple short sections by the concave portions 140, to provide an enhanced pressuring effect on the user's tongue, so as to remove the tongue coating efficiently. In addition, the toothed tongue scraper 14 has a determined thickness, such that the toothed tongue scraper 14 has a flat thick plane to prevent from causing damage to the user's tongue during the scraping process.

[0025] Referring to FIG. 4 with reference to FIGS. 1 and 2, the handle 10 is provided with a bent (or bending) portion 100 which suspends the head 12 and the toothed tongue scraper 14 such that the head 12 and the toothed tongue scraper 14 hang in the air. The bent portion 100 is located between the head 12 and the toothed tongue scraper 14 and is arranged at the central position (or center of gravity) of the handle 10. Thus, the handle 10 is bent by provision of the bent portion 100. In such a manner, when the handle 10 is placed on an object (or a plane), the bent portion 100 is located at the middle position of the handle 10, such that the handle 10 is kept at a balanced state, and the head 12 and the toothed tongue scraper 14 are suspended, to prevent the head 12 and the toothed tongue scraper 14 from directly touching the object, and from being contaminated by the environment.

[0026] Accordingly, the toothed tongue scraper 14 and the concave portions 140 scrape and remove the tongue coating efficiently. In addition, the toothed tongue scraper 14 repeatedly carries the tongue coating away from the user's tongue through the receiving recess 16, thereby achieving the sanitary and safe purposes, and thereby eliminating the offensive odors. Further, the toothed tongue scraper 14 is cleaned easily.

[0027] Although the invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiment(s) as mentioned above, it is to be understood that many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the scope of the present invention. It is, therefore, contemplated that the appended claim or claims will cover such modifications and variations that fall within the scope of the invention.
