However, the present disclosure is deemed to inherently include all such elements, variations, and modifications to the described aspects that would be known to those of ordinary skill in the pertinent art.
[0018] It will be readily understood by one having ordinary skill in the relevant art that the components of the present invention, as generally described and illustrated in the figures herein, may be realized in a variety of different configurations. Thus, the following detailed description of embodiments of a method, apparatus, and system, as represented in the attached figures, is not intended to limit the scope of the invention as claimed, but is merely representative of selected illustrative embodiments of the invention. The usage of the phrases “example embodiments”, “some embodiments”, or other similar language, throughout this specification refers to the fact that a particular feature, structure, or characteristic described in connection with the embodiment may be included in at least one embodiment of the present invention, and do not necessarily all refer to the same group of embodiments.
[0019] Further, it will readily be understood that the present disclosure has broad utility and application. Any embodiment may incorporate only one or a plurality of the aspects described in the disclosure, and may incorporate only one or a plurality of the disclosed features. Furthermore, any embodiment discussed and identified as being “preferred” is considered to be part of a best mode contemplated for realizing the invention. Other embodiments may be described for additional illustrative purposes in providing a full and enabling disclosure. Moreover, other embodiments, such as adaptations, variations, modifications, and equivalent arrangements, are deemed to be implicitly disclosed by the embodiments described herein and to fall within the scope of the present disclosure.

The detailed disclosure herein of one or more embodiments is not intended, nor is to be construed, to limit the scope of patent protection afforded in any claim of a patent issuing here from, which scope is to be defined by the claims and the equivalents thereof. It is not intended that the scope of patent protection be defined by reading into any claim a limitation found herein that does not explicitly appear in the claim itself.
[0021] Thus, for example, any sequence(s) and/or temporal order of steps of various processes or methods that are described herein are illustrative and not restrictive. Accordingly, it should be understood that, although steps of various processes or methods may be shown and described as being in a sequence or temporal order, the steps of any such processes or methods are not limited to being carried out in any particular sequence or order, absent an indication otherwise. Indeed, the steps in such processes or methods generally may be carried out in various different sequences and orders while still falling within the scope of the present invention. Accordingly, it is intended that the scope of patent protection is to be defined by the issued claim(s) rather than the description set forth herein.
[0022] Additionally, it is important to note that each term used herein refers to that which an ordinary artisan would understand such term to mean based on the contextual use of such term herein. To the extent that the meaning of a term used herein—as understood by the ordinary artisan based on the contextual use of such term—differs in any way from any particular dictionary definition of such term, it is intended that the meaning of the term as understood by the ordinary artisan should prevail.
[0023] Furthermore, it is important to note that, as used herein, “a” and “an” each generally denotes “at least one,” but does not exclude a plurality unless the contextual use dictates otherwise. When used herein to join a list of items, “or” denotes “at least one of the items,” but does not exclude a plurality of items of the list. Finally, when used herein to join a list of items, “and” denotes “all of the items of the list.”
[0024] The following detailed description makes reference to the accompanying drawings. In general, the same reference numbers are used in the drawings and the description to refer to the same or similar elements. While many embodiments and aspects are described in the disclosure, modifications, adaptations, and other implementations are possible that fall within the scope of the claims. For example, substitutions, additions, or modifications may be made to the elements and arrangements described and illustrated in the drawings, and the methods described herein may be modified by substituting, reordering, or adding steps to the disclosed methods. Accordingly, the following detailed description does not limit the disclosure. Instead, the proper scope of the disclosure is defined by the appended claims. The present disclosure contains headers. It should be understood that these headers are used as references and are not to be construed as limiting the subjected matter disclosed under them.

[0026] The network of dental floss may comprise nylon, cotton, silk, or similar natural or artificial threads made from multiple fibers twisted together. A thread comprising such fibers may preferably have 2.5-3.5 twists per inch to create one much stronger strand or thread. In embodiments, the network is configured in a crisscross pattern of threads spaced apart within the U-shaped frame. The spacing of the threads corresponds to the spacing of the user's lower or upper set of teeth. The threads are coupled to one side of the appliance through open spaces in the walls. The threads are looped, tied, or otherwise coupled to fasteners such as movable hooks, beads, or the like, which are disposed along the outside perimeter of the walls, adjacent to the open spaces in the walls. In embodiments, the fasteners may be disposed located within indented grooves or tracks disposed along the outside perimeter of the walls of the U-shaped frame. This allows the movable fasteners to roll or slide along the indented grooves or tracks. The movable fasteners allow the appliance to adapt to any user's mouth, with any configuration of teeth, to guide the threads between the teeth. The movable fasteners also allow a user to move the threads after the appliance is placed on their teeth, using one or more of their fingers, their tongue, or some other device, such as an external pick-like device configured to move the fasteners and adjust the threads after the appliance is placed in the mouth. In use the threads remain taut, and can withstand the tension caused when the appliance is placed in the mouth and the threads are being inserted or removed from between the user's teeth.
[0027]
[0028] In an exemplary operation, the appliance may be pressed against a user's upper set or lower set of teeth, thereby inserting floss sections into the joints or spaces between the teeth. When the appliance is removed the threads lift and remove food or other particles that may be present between the user's teeth. The user does not have to maneuver the floss sections to dig between their teeth like traditional flossing devices and techniques. Rather, because both sides of every interproximal space or joint between each pair of adjacent teeth are fully enclosed by simply inserting and then removing the frame threaded with floss (

[0058] Although the invention has been described and illustrated in exemplary forms with a certain degree of particularity, it is noted that the description and illustrations have been made by way of example only. Numerous changes in the details of construction, combination, and arrangement of parts and steps may be made without deviating from the scope of the invention. Accordingly, such changes are understood to be inherent in the disclosure. The invention is not limited except by the appended claims and the elements explicitly recited therein. The scope of the claims should be construed as broadly as the prior art will permit. It should also be noted that all elements of all of the claims may be combined with each other in any possible combination, even if the combinations have not been expressly claimed.
