Abstract
A smoking device adapter system includes a body having an upper opening and a lower opening defining a channel. A mouthpiece extends outwardly from the body. The mouthpiece includes a distal opening and a hollow interior in fluid communication with the channel. A bowl includes a chamber for holding combustible smoking materials and a stem portion extending through the upper opening of the body. The body is removably connectable to one of a plurality of container adapters. Each container adapter includes an upper connector that is removably securable to the lower opening of the body. The upper connector is in fluid communication with a lower connector that is removably securable to an external container, such that an interior volume of the external container is in fluid communication with the channel of the body. Different container adapters allow different types of containers to be easily converted into a smoking device.
Claims
1) A smoking device adapter system comprising: a body having an upper opening and a lower opening defining a channel; a mouthpiece extending outwardly from the body, the mouthpiece including a distal opening and a hollow interior in fluid communication with the channel; a bowl having a chamber portion for holding combustible smoking material and a hollow stem portion extending through the upper opening of the body; a plurality of container adapters, each container adapter comprising an upper connector that is removably securable to the lower opening of the body, wherein the upper connector is in fluid communication with a lower connector that is removably securable to an external container, such that an interior volume of the external container is in fluid communication with the channel of the body.
2) The smoking device adapter system of claim 1, wherein the stem portion of the bowl extends within the channel of the body and out through the lower opening of the body.
3) The smoking device adapter system of claim 1, wherein the mouthpiece frictionally engages a mouthpiece opening of the body, such that the mouthpiece is removably securable to the body.
4) The smoking device adapter system of claim 1, wherein the stem of the bowl frictionally engages the upper opening of the body, such that the bowl is removably securable to the body.
5) The smoking device adapter system of claim 1, wherein the upper opening of the body includes a diameter that is less than a diameter of the lower opening of the body.
6) The smoking device adapter system of claim 1, wherein the body comprises a lower portion having a uniform diameter and an upper portion having an inward taper, wherein the mouthpiece extends outwardly from the upper portion of the body.
7) The smoking device adapter system of claim 1, wherein the lower opening of the body includes internal threading.
8) The smoking device adapter system of claim 1, wherein the upper connector of a first container adapter of the plurality of container adapters includes a rubber gasket configured to frictionally engage a corresponding lower connector disposed on an upper opening of a container having a threadless closure.
9) The smoking device adapter system of claim 7, wherein the lower connector of a second container adapter of the plurality of container adapters includes a base having a lower perimeter lip, and a wherein the upper connector includes exterior threading that is removably securable to the internal threading of the lower opening of the body, wherein the lower perimeter lip is configured to frictionally engage an upper edge of a beverage can.
10) The smoking device adapter system of claim 1, wherein the body further comprises a carb hole in fluid communication with the channel.
11) The smoking device adapter system of claim 1, wherein the chamber portion of the bowl is removably securable within the upper end of the stem portion of the bowl.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0017] Reference is made herein to the attached drawings. Like reference numerals are used throughout the drawings to depict like or similar elements of the smoking device adapter system. For the purposes of presenting a brief and clear description of the present invention, the preferred embodiment will be discussed as used for providing a smoking device adapter system with multiple types of adapters that allow different types and sizes of containers to be easily converted into a smoking device. Additionally, the figures are intended for representative purposes only and should not be considered to be limiting in any respect.
[0018] Referring now to
[0019] A bowl 17 includes a chamber portion 18 for holding combustible smoking material and a hollow stem portion 19 extending through the upper opening 11 of the body 10. In some embodiments, such as those shown in
[0020] In some embodiments, the chamber portion 18 of the bowl 17 is removably securable within the upper end of the stem portion 19. In this embodiment, the chamber portion 18 can be lifted to expose the hollow interior of the stem portion 19 and allow fresh air to enter as the user inhales on the mouthpiece 14. In other embodiments, and as shown in
[0021] The system further includes a plurality of container adapters, such that the user can select a desired adapter for converting different types of containers into a smoking device. Each container adapter includes an upper connector that is removably securable to the lower opening 12 of the body, wherein the upper connector is in fluid communication with a lower connector that is removably securable to an external container, such that an interior volume of the external container is in fluid communication with the channel 13 of the body 10. This allows the attached container to function as a liquid reservoir for a water pipe, whereby the body 10, the mouthpiece 14, the bowl 17, and the attached container form the assembled water pipe. The following paragraphs describe some examples of different types of containers being utilized with the present invention.
