Abstract
The present invention relates to a new generation dual-handle, adjustable steering console used for steering tracked military land vehicles. The present invention, considering the weight of the console, vehicle's condition on the ground, and the confined volume of the driver's cabinet, particularly relates to a new generation dual-handle steering console that comprises a linear motion lock (40), an angular motion lock (50), and a wrist motion lock (60) that allow for individually adjusting the steering console to the best position for the driver.
Claims
1. A dual-handle, adjustable, new generation steering console used for steering tracked military land vehicles, characterized by comprising; at least one steering wheel (10) comprising; controllers (30) that allow for controlling the critical systems of the vehicle, as well as systems including lighting, communications, radio, wipers, etc. without compromising the handling of the vehicle; a display (20) that allows the user to view and control the information regarding the vehicle while driving the vehicle either by standing or by sitting, and to obtain footage from vehicle cameras when necessary, that supports adding an infinite number of pages, that is programmable and that is capable of functioning in full cooperation with the subsystems of the vehicle; at least one linear motion lock (40) that allows the user to adjust the position as desired by moving the column forwards and backward by coming out of the hole located on the column inner closure (43), by upwardly moving the fixing pin (42) connected to the handle when the user presses the linear motion lock handle (41), and that does not fix the position when the user releases the handle (41); at least one angular motion lock (50) that removes the angular fixing pin (52) from the angular motion positioning gear seat (54) when the user pulls the angular motion lock handle (51) and that fixes the position when the user releases the handle (51) upon moving into the position desired by the user, and; at least one wrist motion lock (60) that fixes the lock spring (63) and lock pin (64) by applying pressure thereon at an appropriate position by leaving it in an appropriate position through the hole on the positioning piece (62) by means of releasing the steering wheel (10) for the wrist motion when the user lifts the wrist motion lock handle (61).
2. Dual-handle, adjustable, new generation steering console according to claim 1, characterized by comprising; an angular lock spring (53) in the angular motion lock (50), wherein said angular lock spring compresses the angular fixing pin (52) in the angular motion positioning gear seat (54), thereby preventing any unintentional adjustment losses.
3. Dual-handle, adjustable, new generation steering console according to claim 1, characterized by comprising; a lock pin (80) that is driven by a solenoid (70) inserted into the steering console, and that prevents the rotation of the steering wheel (10) by entering the hole located thereon.
4. Dual-handle, adjustable, new generation steering console according to claim 1, characterized by comprising; maintenance hatches (90) that allow for performing maintenance, repair, assembly, and disassembly operations by providing access to electrical equipment located therein without the need for disassembling the entire steering wheel (10).
5. Dual-handle, adjustable, new generation steering console according to claim 1, characterized by comprising; a steering wheel tube (100) that improves the durability of the steering wheel (10) and that creates a safe conduit for the wires located therein.
6. Dual-handle, adjustable, new generation steering console according to claim 1, characterized by comprising; a steering wheel covering (110) that is cladded onto the steering wheel tube (100), thereby providing an anti-slip feature to the steering wheel (10) for the driver.
7. Dual-handle, adjustable, new generation steering console according to claim 1, characterized by comprising; multiple connection interface plates (120) that allow for integrating the steering console into all types of tracked vehicles without making any changes.
8. Dual-handle, adjustable, new generation steering console according to claim 1, characterized by comprising; a connector (150) that controls the console electronics so as to provide ease of compatibility with vehicle wiring systems in all tracked vehicles and a box (140) that protects the wires therein by retaining said connector (150).
9. Dual-handle, adjustable, new generation steering console according to claim 1, characterized by comprising; an outer main shaft (180) and an inner main shaft (190) that enable the transmission of the steering received from the steering wheel by allowing linear motion.
10. Dual-handle, adjustable, new generation steering console according to claim 1, characterized by comprising; friction parts (130) that are preferably manufactured from Teflon material and that allow the rubbing of the nested two closures without coming into contact with one another in the linear motion of the steering wheel.
