Abstract
A high pressure pump head assembly capable of pumping multiple fluids on demand and under pressure for desired applications in association with a single high pressure pump.
Claims
1.-5. (canceled)
6. A pump head assembly, comprising: a housing defining at least two segregated pressure chambers; a respective inlet check valve associated with each pressure chamber; a respective outlet check valve associated with each pressure chamber; a first conduit for fluid from a first tank to enter one of the pressure chambers through one of the respective inlet check valves; and a second conduit for fluid from a second tank to enter another of the pressure chambers through another one of the respective inlet check valves; wherein the first tank is configured for filling with first fluid and the second tank is configured for filling with a second fluid different from the first fluid; and wherein the head assembly is configured for connection to one high pressure pump so as to selectively pump the first fluid into one of the pressure chambers and the second fluid into another of the pressure chambers, and to selectively pump the first fluid out of the head assembly through one the respective outlet check valves and the second fluid out of the head assembly through another of the respective outlet check valves.
7. The pump head assembly of claim 1 wherein the outlet check valves are operatively connected to an apparatus to apply pressurized fluid to a surface.
8. The pump head assembly of claim 1, wherein the high pressure pump comprises either a piston pump or a plunger pump.
9. A pump head assembly, comprising: a housing defining at least three segregated pressure chambers; a respective inlet check valve associated with each pressure chamber; a respective outlet check valve associated with each pressure chamber; a first conduit for fluid from a first tank to enter the first one of the pressure chambers through the first one of the respective inlet check valves; a second conduit for fluid from a second tank to enter the second one of the pressure chambers through the second one of the respective inlet check valves; a third conduit for fluid from a third tank to enter the third one of the pressure chambers through the third one of the respective inlet check valves; wherein the first tank is configured for filling with first fluid, the second tank is configured for filling with a second fluid different from the first fluid, and the third tank is configured for filling with a third fluid different from the first and second fluids; and wherein the head assembly is configured for connection to one high pressure pump so as to selectively pump the first fluid into the first one of the pressure chambers, the second fluid into the second one of the pressure chambers, the third fluid into the third one of the pressure chambers, and to selectively pump the first fluid out of the head assembly through the first one the respective outlet check valves, the second fluid out of the head assembly through the second one of the respective outlet check valves, and the third fluid out of the head assembly through the third one of the respective outlet check valves.
10. The pump head assembly of claim 9 wherein the outlet check valves are operatively connected to an apparatus to apply pressurized fluid to a surface.
11. The pump head assembly of claim 9, wherein the high pressure pump comprises either a piston pump or a plunger pump.

[0020] In operation, fluid from tank 214 flows through conduit 209 to inlet manifold 208 joining inlet check valves 203A, 203B, 203C wherein fluid is pressurized and discharged out the discharge check valves 202A, 202B, 202C respectively and joined by manifold 207 then out through conduit 206 to desired application apparatus. Simultaneously fluid from tank 213 flows through conduit 210 to inlet check valve 203D wherein fluid is pressurized then discharged out the discharge check valve 202D through conduit 205 then out to desired application apparatus. Simultaneously from tank 212 fluid flows through conduit 211 to inlet check valve 203E wherein fluid is pressurized and discharged out the discharge check valve 202E out through conduit 204 then out to desired application apparatus. Conduits 204, 205, 206, 209, 210, 211 are not of any specific shape or material. A single high pressure pump is operatively connected to the segregated head assembly and check valves 202D, 202E, and 202A, 202B and 202A are individually actuated to direct selected fluid to the desired application apparatus.
