Abstract
A method for electrochemical extraction of uranium from seawater using an oxygen vacancy (OV)-containing metal oxide includes the following steps: adding glycerin to a solution of indium nitrate in isopropanol, transferring a resulting mixture to a reactor, and conducting reaction to obtain a spherical indium hydroxide solid; dissolving the solid in deionized water, transferring a resulting solution to the reactor, and conducting reaction to obtain a flaky indium hydroxide solid; calcining the solid to obtain calcined OV-containing In.sub.2O.sub.3-x; adding the In.sub.2O.sub.3-x to ethanol, and adding a membrane solution; coating a resulting solution uniformly on carbon paper, and naturally drying the carbon paper; clamping dried carbon paper with a gold electrode for being used as a working electrode for a three-electrode system; and adding simulated seawater to an electrolytic cell, placing the three-electrode system in the simulated seawater, and stirring the simulated seawater for electrolysis to extract uranium from the seawater.
Claims
1. A method for an electrochemical extraction of uranium from seawater using an oxygen vacancy (OV)-containing metal oxide, comprising the following steps: step 1, preparing a solution of indium nitrate at a concentration of 0.024 mol/L to 0.028 mol/L in isopropanol, adding glycerin to the solution of indium nitrate in isopropanol to obtain a first mixture, and subjecting the first mixture to stirring for 0.5 h to 1 h and then to ultrasonic treatment for 0.5 h to 1 h to obtain a mixed solution; step 2, transferring the mixed solution to a high-temperature and high-pressure polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) reactor, heating the mixed solution to a first temperature of 160° C. to 200° C. and holding at the first temperature for 1 h to 3 h, and naturally cooling to room temperature; and conducting solid-liquid separation (SLS), washing a resulting solid with deionized water and ethanol to obtain a washed solid, and drying the washed solid in a vacuum drying oven at 60° C. to 80° C. for 10 h to 14 h to obtain a spherical indium hydroxide solid; step 3, dissolving the spherical indium hydroxide solid in deionized water, and conducting ultrasonic treatment for 0.5 h to 1 h to obtain a first treated solution; transferring the first treated solution to the high-temperature and high-pressure PTFE reactor, heating the first treated solution to a second temperature of 40° C. to 60° C. and holding at the second temperature for 1 h to 3 h, and naturally cooling to room temperature; and washing with ethanol, and drying in an oven at 60° C. to 80° C. for 10 h to 14 h to obtain a flaky indium hydroxide solid; step 4, heating the flaky indium hydroxide solid to 350° C. to 450° C. in an atmosphere with a hydrogen content of less than 5%, and conducting calcination for 1 h to 3 h to obtain a calcined OV-containing In.sub.2O.sub.3-x sample; step 5, adding the In.sub.2O.sub.3-x sample to ethanol, and conducting ultrasonic treatment for 0.5 h to 1 h; adding a membrane solution, and further conducting ultrasonic treatment for 0.5 h to 1 h to obtain a second treated solution; coating the second treated solution uniformly on carbon paper, and naturally drying the carbon paper; and clamping dried carbon paper with a gold electrode, and using a resulting product as a working electrode for a three-electrode system, wherein in the three-electrode system, a platinum wire is used as a counter electrode and a calomel electrode is used as a reference electrode; and step 6, adding simulated seawater to an electrolytic cell, placing the three-electrode system in the simulated seawater in the electrolytic cell, and stirring the simulated seawater for a first electrolysis to extract uranium from the simulated seawater, wherein an electrolytic cell voltage is set to −0.3 V to −0.5 V, and the first electrolysis is conducted for 10 min to 100 min, with power on for 1 min to 2 min and power off for 30 s to 60 s in each cycle.

The method for the electrochemical extraction of uranium from seawater using the OV-containing metal oxide according to claim 1, wherein the solution of indium nitrate in isopropanol is prepared by a method comprising: adding In(NO.sub.3).sub.3.4.5H.sub.2O to isopropanol to obtain a second mixture, and subjecting the second mixture to stirring for 0.5 h to 1 h and ultrasonic treatment for 0.5 h to 1 h to obtain the solution of indium nitrate in isopropanol; and a mass ratio of the In(NO.sub.3).sub.3.4.5H.sub.2O to the glycerin is 3:(80-120).
3. The method for the electrochemical extraction of uranium from seawater using the OV-containing metal oxide according to claim 1, wherein in step 3, a mass-volume ratio of the spherical indium hydroxide solid to the deionized water is 1 g:(120-160) mL.

The method for the electrochemical extraction of uranium from seawater using the OV-containing metal oxide according to claim 1, wherein in step 5, a mass-volume ratio of the In.sub.2O.sub.3-x sample to the ethanol is 1 mg:(0.2-0.6) mL; and a mass-volume ratio of the In.sub.2O.sub.3-x sample to the membrane solution is 1 mg:10 μL.
5. The method for the electrochemical extraction of uranium from seawater using the OV-containing metal oxide according to claim 1, wherein in step 5, the membrane solution is a nafion membrane solution.

The method for the electrochemical extraction of uranium from seawater using the OV-containing metal oxide according to claim 1, wherein the simulated seawater is prepared by a method comprising: adding uranyl nitrate and sodium chloride to deionized water to obtain a second mixture, and subjecting the second mixture to ultrasonic treatment for 0.5 h to 1 h to obtain the simulated seawater; and the simulated seawater has a U.sup.6+ concentration of 50 μg/L to 150 μg/L and a sodium chloride concentration of 0.1 mol/L to 1 mol/L.

The method for the electrochemical extraction of uranium from seawater using the OV-containing metal oxide according to claim 1, wherein in step 6, after the first electrolysis is completed, the three-electrode system is placed in the electrolytic cell or a different electrolytic cell with a 0.1 mol/L to 1 mol/L sodium chloride solution, and the sodium chloride solution is stirred for a second electrolysis, wherein an electrolytic cell voltage is set to +0.3 V to +0.5 V, and the second electrolysis is conducted for 15 to 30 cycles, with power on for 1 min to 3 min and power off for 0.5 min to 1 min in each cycle, such that U.sup.4+ on the working electrode is oxidized into U.sup.6+ in the 0.1 mol/L to 1 mol/L sodium chloride solution.
8. The method for the electrochemical extraction of uranium from seawater using the OV-containing metal oxide according to claim 1, wherein the ultrasonic treatment in steps 1, 3, and 5 is conducted at a power of 600 W to 1,200 W and a frequency of 28 KHz to 40 KHz.

The method for the electrochemical extraction of uranium from seawater using the OV-containing metal oxide according to claim 1, wherein the heating in step 2 is conducted at a heating rate of 3° C./min to 6° C./min; the heating in step 3 is conducted at a heating rate of 3° C./min to 6° C./min; and the heating in step 4 is conducted at a heating rate of 8° C./min to 12° C./min.
10. The method for the electrochemical extraction of uranium from seawater using an OV-containing metal oxide comprising the following steps: step 1, preparing a solution of indium nitrate at a concentration of 0.024 mol/L to 0.028 mol/L in isopropanol, adding glycerin to the solution of indium nitrate in isopropanol to obtain a first mixture, and subjecting the first mixture to stirring for 0.5 h to 1 h and then to ultrasonic treatment for 0.5 h to 1 h to obtain a mixed solution; step 2, adding the mixed solution to a high-pressure reactor, introducing high-pressure carbon dioxide into the high-pressure reactor, and conducting a reaction under stirring for 1 h to 1.5 h at a third temperature of 150° C. to 180° C. and a pressure of 18 MPa to 28 MPa; naturally cooling to room temperature and conducting pressure release; and conducting solid-liquid separation (SLS), washing a resulting solid with deionized water and ethanol to obtain a washed solid, and drying the washed solid in a vacuum drying oven at 60° C. to 80° C. for 10 h to 14 h to obtain a spherical indium hydroxide solid; step 3, dissolving the spherical indium hydroxide solid in deionized water, and conducting ultrasonic treatment for 0.5 h to 1 h to obtain a first treated solution; transferring the first treated solution to the high-pressure reactor, heating the first treated solution to a second temperature of 40° C. to 60° C. and holding at the second temperature for 1 h to 3 h, and naturally cooling to room temperature; and washing with ethanol, and drying in an oven at 60° C. to 80° C. for 10 h to 14 h to obtain a flaky indium hydroxide solid; step 4, heating the flaky indium hydroxide solid to 350° C. to 450° C. in an atmosphere with a hydrogen content of less than 5%, and conducting calcination for 1 h to 3 h to obtain a calcined OV-containing In.sub.2O.sub.3-x sample; step 5, adding the In.sub.2O.sub.3-x sample to ethanol, and conducting ultrasonic treatment for 0.5 h to 1 h; adding a membrane solution, and further conducting ultrasonic treatment for 0.5 h to 1 h to obtain a second treated solution; coating the second treated solution uniformly on carbon paper, and naturally drying the carbon paper; and clamping dried carbon paper with a gold electrode, and using a resulting product as a working electrode for a three-electrode system, wherein in the three-electrode system, a platinum wire is used as a counter electrode and a calomel electrode is used as a reference electrode; and step 6, adding simulated seawater to an electrolytic cell, placing the three-electrode system in the simulated seawater in the electrolytic cell, and stirring the simulated seawater for a first electrolysis to extract uranium from the simulated seawater, wherein an electrolytic cell voltage is set to −0.3 V to −0.5 V, and the first electrolysis is conducted for 10 min to 100 min, with power on for 1 min to 2 min and power off for 30 s to 60 s in each cycle.
11. The method for the electrochemical extraction of uranium from seawater using the OV-containing metal oxide according to claim 10, wherein the solution of indium nitrate in isopropanol is prepared by a method comprising: adding In(NO.sub.3).sub.3.4.5H.sub.2O to isopropanol to obtain a second mixture, and subjecting the second mixture to stirring for 0.5 h to 1 h and ultrasonic treatment for 0.5 h to 1 h to obtain the solution of indium nitrate in isopropanol; and a mass ratio of the In(NO.sub.3).sub.3.4.5H.sub.2O to the glycerin is 3:(80-120).
12. The method for the electrochemical extraction of uranium from seawater using the OV-containing metal oxide according to claim 10, wherein in step 3, a mass-volume ratio of the spherical indium hydroxide solid to the deionized water is 1 g:(120-160) mL.

The method for the electrochemical extraction of uranium from seawater using the OV-containing metal oxide according to claim 10, wherein in step 5, a mass-volume ratio of the In.sub.2O.sub.3-x sample to the ethanol is 1 mg:(0.2-0.6) mL; and a mass-volume ratio of the In.sub.2O.sub.3-x sample to the membrane solution is 1 mg:10 μL.
14. The method for the electrochemical extraction of uranium from seawater using the OV-containing metal oxide according to claim 10, wherein in step 5, the membrane solution is a nafion membrane solution.

The method for the electrochemical extraction of uranium from seawater using the OV-containing metal oxide according to claim 10, wherein the simulated seawater is prepared by a method comprising: adding uranyl nitrate and sodium chloride to deionized water to obtain a second mixture, and subjecting the second mixture to ultrasonic treatment for 0.5 h to 1 h to obtain the simulated seawater; and the simulated seawater has a U.sup.6+ concentration of 50 μg/L to 150 μg/L and a sodium chloride concentration of 0.1 mol/L to 1 mol/L.

The method for the electrochemical extraction of uranium from seawater using the OV-containing metal oxide according to claim 10, wherein in step 6, after the first electrolysis is completed, the three-electrode system is placed in the electrolytic cell or a different electrolytic cell with a 0.1 mol/L to 1 mol/L sodium chloride solution, and the sodium chloride solution is stirred for a second electrolysis, wherein an electrolytic cell voltage is set to +0.3 V to +0.5 V, and the second electrolysis is conducted for 15 to 30 cycles, with power on for 1 min to 3 min and power off for 0.5 min to 1 min in each cycle, such that U.sup.4+ on the working electrode is oxidized into U.sup.6+ in the 0.1 mol/L to 1 mol/L sodium chloride solution.
17. The method for the electrochemical extraction of uranium from seawater using the OV-containing metal oxide according to claim 10, wherein the ultrasonic treatment in steps 1, 3, and 5 is conducted at a power of 600 W to 1,200 W and a frequency of 28 KHz to 40 KHz.

The method for the electrochemical extraction of uranium from seawater using the OV-containing metal oxide according to claim 10, wherein the heating in step 2 is conducted at a heating rate of 3° C./min to 6° C./min; the heating in step 3 is conducted at a heating rate of 3° C./min to 6° C./min; and the heating in step 4 is conducted at a heating rate of 8° C./min to 12° C./min.

(7) The present disclosure will be further described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings, such that those skilled in the art can implement the present disclosure with reference to the description.

Example 1
(9) A method for electrochemical extraction of uranium from seawater using an OV-containing metal oxide was provided, including the following steps:
(10) Step 1. 3 g of In(NO.sub.3).sub.3.4.5H.sub.2O was added to 300 mL of isopropanol, and a resulting mixture was stirred for 0.5 h and then subjected to ultrasonic treatment for 1 h to obtain a solution of indium nitrate in isopropanol; and 100 g of glycerin was added to the solution of indium nitrate in isopropanol, and a resulting mixture was stirred for 0.5 h and then subjected to ultrasonic treatment for 0.5 h to obtain a mixed solution. The ultrasonic treatment was conducted at a power of 800 W and a frequency of 35 KHz.
(11) Step 2. The mixed solution was transferred to a high-temperature and high-pressure PTFE reactor, heated to 180° C. at a heating rate of 5° C./min and held at the temperature for 1 h, and naturally cooled to room temperature; and SLS was conducted, and a resulting solid was washed with deionized water and ethanol, and then dried in a vacuum drying oven at 60° C. for 12 h to obtain a spherical indium hydroxide solid.
(12) Step 3. 0.2 g of the spherical indium hydroxide solid was added to 30 mL of deionized water, and a resulting mixture was subjected to ultrasonic treatment for 0.5 h; a resulting solution was transferred to a high-temperature and high-pressure PTFE reactor, heated to 50° C. at a heating rate of 5° C./min and held at the temperature for 1 h, and naturally cooled to room temperature; and a resulting solid was washed with ethanol, and then dried in an oven at 60° C. for 12 h to obtain a flaky indium hydroxide solid. The ultrasonic treatment was conducted at a power of 800 W and a frequency of 35 KHz.
(13) Step 4. The flaky indium hydroxide solid was heated to 400° C. at a heating rate of 10° C./min in an atmosphere with a hydrogen content of less than 5%, and subjected to calcination for 2 h to obtain a calcined OV-containing In.sub.2O.sub.3-x sample (X in the In.sub.2O.sub.3-x represents an OV content).
(14) Step 5. 50 mg of the In.sub.2O.sub.3-x sample was added to 20 mL of ethanol, and a resulting mixture was subjected to ultrasonic treatment for 1 h; 500 μL of a nation membrane solution was added, and a resulting mixture was further subjected to ultrasonic treatment for 1 h; a resulting solution was coated uniformly on 1 cm×2 cm carbon paper, and the carbon paper was naturally dried; and dried carbon paper was clamped with a gold electrode and then used as a working electrode for a three-electrode system. In the three-electrode system, a platinum wire was used as a counter electrode and a calomel electrode was used as a reference electrode. The ultrasonic treatment was conducted at a power of 800 W and a frequency of 35 KHz.
(15) Step 6. 166.38 μg of uranyl nitrate and 29.2 g of sodium chloride were added to 1 L of deionized water, and a resulting mixture was subjected to ultrasonic treatment at a power of 800 W and a frequency of 35 KHz to obtain simulated seawater with a U.sup.6+ concentration of 100 μg/L and a sodium chloride concentration of 0.5 mol/L; the simulated seawater was added to an electrolytic cell, the three-electrode system was placed in the simulated seawater in the electrolytic cell, and the simulated seawater was stirred for electrolysis, where an electrolytic cell voltage was set to −4 V, and electrolysis was conducted for 10 min with power on for 1 min and power off for 30 s in each cycle to complete uranium extraction from the simulated seawater; and a U.sup.6+ concentration in the simulated seawater obtained after the uranium extraction was determined by ICP-MS, which was 10 μg/L.
(16) Step 7. After the electrolysis was completed, the three-electrode system was placed in an electrolytic cell with a 0.5 mol/L sodium chloride solution, and the sodium chloride solution was stirred for electrolysis, where an electrolytic cell voltage was set to +0.4 V, and the electrolysis was conducted for 20 cycles, with power on for 2 min and power off for 0.5 min in each cycle, such that U.sup.4+ on the working electrode was oxidized into U.sup.6+ in the 0.5 mol/L sodium chloride solution; and a U.sup.6+ concentration in the 0.5 mol/L sodium chloride solution was determined by TCP-MS, which was 87 μg/L.
Example 2
(17) A method for electrochemical extraction of uranium from seawater using an OV-containing metal oxide was provided, including the following steps:
(18) Step 1. 3 g of In(NO.sub.3).sub.3.4.5H.sub.2O was added to 300 mL of isopropanol, and a resulting mixture was stirred for 1 h and then subjected to ultrasonic treatment for 0.5 h to obtain a solution of indium nitrate in isopropanol; and 100 g of glycerin was added to the solution of indium nitrate in isopropanol, and a resulting mixture was stirred for 1 h and then subjected to ultrasonic treatment for 0.5 h to obtain a mixed solution. The ultrasonic treatment was conducted at a power of 800 W and a frequency of 40 KHz.
(19) Step 2. The mixed solution was transferred to a high-temperature and high-pressure PTFE reactor, heated to 185° C. at a heating rate of 5° C./min and held at the temperature for 2 h, and naturally cooled to room temperature; and SLS was conducted, and a resulting solid was washed with deionized water and ethanol, and then dried in a vacuum drying oven at 60° C. for 12 h to obtain a spherical indium hydroxide solid.
(20) Step 3. 1 g of the spherical indium hydroxide solid was added to 150 mL of deionized water, and a resulting mixture was subjected to ultrasonic treatment for 1 h; a resulting solution was transferred to a high-temperature and high-pressure PTFE reactor, heated to 60° C. at a heating rate of 5° C./min and held at the temperature for 2 h, and naturally cooled to room temperature; and a resulting solid was washed with ethanol, and then dried in an oven at 60° C. for 12 h to obtain a flaky indium hydroxide solid. The ultrasonic treatment was conducted at a power of 800 W and a frequency of 40 KHz.
(21) Step 4. The flaky indium hydroxide solid was heated to 385° C. at a heating rate of 10° C./min in an atmosphere with a hydrogen content of less than 5%, and subjected to calcination for 3 h to obtain a calcined OV-containing In.sub.2O.sub.3-x sample.
(22) Step 5. 50 mg of the In.sub.2O.sub.3-x sample was added to 20 mL of ethanol, and a resulting mixture was subjected to ultrasonic treatment for 1 h; 500 μL of a nafion membrane solution was added, and a resulting mixture was further subjected to ultrasonic treatment for 1 h; a resulting solution was coated uniformly on 1 cm×2 cm carbon paper, and the carbon paper was naturally dried; and dried carbon paper was clamped with a gold electrode and then used as a working electrode for a three-electrode system. In the three-electrode system, a platinum wire was used as a counter electrode and a calomel electrode was used as a reference electrode. The ultrasonic treatment was conducted at a power of 800 W and a frequency of 40 KHz.
(23) Step 6. 166.38 μg of uranyl nitrate and 29.2 g of sodium chloride were added to 1 L of deionized water, and a resulting mixture was subjected to ultrasonic treatment at a power of 800 W and a frequency of 35 KHz to obtain simulated seawater with a U.sup.6+ concentration of 100 μg/L and a sodium chloride concentration of 0.5 mol/L; the simulated seawater was added to an electrolytic cell, the three-electrode system was placed in the simulated seawater in the electrolytic cell, and the simulated seawater was stirred for electrolysis, where an electrolytic cell voltage was set to −5 V, and electrolysis was conducted for 10 min with power on for 1 min and power off for 30 s in each cycle to complete uranium extraction from the simulated seawater; and a U.sup.6+ concentration in the simulated seawater obtained after the uranium extraction was determined by ICP-MS, which was 9 μg/L. The power on, power off, and stirring operations could increase a U.sup.6+ concentration near the working electrode and improve the extraction efficiency.
(24) Step 7. After the electrolysis was completed, the three-electrode system was placed in an electrolytic cell with a 0.5 mol/L sodium chloride solution, and the sodium chloride solution was stirred for electrolysis, where an electrolytic cell voltage was set to +0.5 V, and the electrolysis was conducted for 20 cycles, with power on for 2 min and power off for 0.5 mm in each cycle, such that U.sup.4+ on the working electrode was oxidized into U.sup.6+ in the 0.5 mol/L sodium chloride solution; and a U.sup.6+ concentration in the 0.5 mol/L sodium chloride solution was determined by ICP-MS, which was 87 μg/L.
Example 3
(25) A method for electrochemical extraction of uranium from seawater using an OV-containing metal oxide was provided, including the following steps:
(26) Step 1. 3 g of In(NO.sub.3).sub.3.4.5H.sub.2O was added to 300 mL of isopropanol, and a resulting mixture was stirred for 1 h and then subjected to ultrasonic treatment for 1 h to obtain a solution of indium nitrate in isopropanol; and 100 g of glycerin was added to the solution of indium nitrate in isopropanol, and a resulting mixture was stirred for 1 h and then subjected to ultrasonic treatment for 1 h to obtain a mixed solution. The ultrasonic treatment was conducted at a power of 800 W and a frequency of 40 KHz.
(27) Step 2. The mixed solution was transferred to a high-temperature and high-pressure PTFE reactor, heated to 200° C. at a heating rate of 5° C./min and held at the temperature for 1 h, and naturally cooled to room temperature; and SLS was conducted, and a resulting solid was washed with deionized water and ethanol, and then dried in a vacuum drying oven at 60° C. for 12 h to obtain a spherical indium hydroxide solid.
(28) Step 3. 1 g of the spherical indium hydroxide solid was added to 150 mL of deionized water, and a resulting mixture was subjected to ultrasonic treatment for 1 h; a resulting solution was transferred to a high-temperature and high-pressure PTFE reactor, heated to 60° C. at a heating rate of 5° C./min and held at the temperature for 2 h, and naturally cooled to room temperature; and a resulting solid was washed with ethanol, and then dried in an oven at 60° C. for 12 h to obtain a flaky indium hydroxide solid. The ultrasonic treatment was conducted at a power of 800 W and a frequency of 40 KHz.
(29) Step 4. The flaky indium hydroxide solid was heated to 400° C. at a heating rate of 10° C./min in an atmosphere with a hydrogen content of less than 5%, and subjected to calcination for 2 h to obtain a calcined OV-containing In.sub.2O.sub.3-x sample.
(30) Step 5. 50 mg of the In.sub.2O.sub.3-x sample was added to 20 mL of ethanol, and a resulting mixture was subjected to ultrasonic treatment for 1 h; 500 μL of a nafion membrane solution was added, and a resulting mixture was further subjected to ultrasonic treatment for 1 h; a resulting solution was coated uniformly on 1 cm×2 cm carbon paper, and the carbon paper was naturally dried; and dried carbon paper was clamped with a gold electrode and then used as a working electrode for a three-electrode system. In the three-electrode system, a platinum wire was used as a counter electrode and a calomel electrode was used as a reference electrode. The ultrasonic treatment was conducted at a power of 800 W and a frequency of 40 KHz.
(31) Step 6. 166.38 μg of uranyl nitrate and 29.2 g of sodium chloride were added to 1 L of deionized water, and a resulting mixture was subjected to ultrasonic treatment at a power of 800 W and a frequency of 35 KHz to obtain simulated seawater with a U.sup.6+ concentration of 100 μg/L and a sodium chloride concentration of 0.5 mol/L; the simulated seawater was added to an electrolytic cell, the three-electrode system was placed in the simulated seawater in the electrolytic cell, and the simulated seawater was stirred for electrolysis, where an electrolytic cell voltage was set to −3 V, and electrolysis was conducted for 10 min with power on for 1 min and power off for 30 s in each cycle to complete uranium extraction from the simulated seawater; and a U.sup.6+ concentration in the simulated seawater obtained after the uranium extraction was determined by ICP-MS, which was 8 μg/L.
(32) Step 7. After the electrolysis was completed, the three-electrode system was placed in an electrolytic cell with a 0.5 mol/L sodium chloride solution, and the sodium chloride solution was stirred for electrolysis, where an electrolytic cell voltage was set to +0.3 V, and the electrolysis was conducted for 20 cycles, with power on for 2 min and power off for 0.5 min in each cycle, such that U.sup.4+ on the working electrode was oxidized into U.sup.6+ in the 0.5 mol/L sodium chloride solution; and a U.sup.6+ concentration in the 0.5 mol/L sodium chloride solution was determined by ICP-MS, which was 88 μg/L.
Example 4
(33) A method for electrochemical extraction of uranium from seawater using an OV-containing metal oxide was provided, including the following steps:
(34) Step 1. 3 g of In(NO.sub.3).sub.3.4.5H.sub.2O was added to 300 mL of isopropanol, and a resulting mixture was stirred for 0.5 h and then subjected to ultrasonic treatment for 1 h to obtain a solution of indium nitrate in isopropanol; and 100 g of glycerin was added to the solution of indium nitrate in isopropanol, and a resulting mixture was stirred for 0.5 h and then subjected to ultrasonic treatment for 0.5 h to obtain a mixed solution. The ultrasonic treatment was conducted at a power of 800 W and a frequency of 35 KHz.
(35) Step 2. The mixed solution was added to a high-pressure reactor, high-pressure carbon dioxide was introduced into the reactor, and reaction was conducted under stirring for 1 h at a temperature of 180° C. and a pressure of 20 MPa; a resulting system was naturally cooled to room temperature and pressure was released; and SLS was conducted, and a resulting solid was washed with deionized water and ethanol, and then dried in a vacuum drying oven at 60° C. for 12 h to obtain a spherical indium hydroxide solid. The reaction was conducted in a supercritical carbon dioxide reaction system, such that the reaction was more uniform and an OV content in the In.sub.2O.sub.3-x sample prepared subsequently was further increased.
(36) Step 3. 0.2 g of the spherical indium hydroxide solid was added to 30 mL of deionized water, and a resulting mixture was subjected to ultrasonic treatment for 0.5 h; a resulting solution was transferred to a high-temperature and high-pressure PTFE reactor, heated to 50° C. at a heating rate of 5° C./min and held at the temperature for 1 h, and naturally cooled to room temperature; and a resulting solid was washed with ethanol, and then dried in an oven at 60° C. for 12 h to obtain a flaky indium hydroxide solid.
(37) Step 4. The flaky indium hydroxide solid was heated to 400° C. at a heating rate of 10° C./min in an atmosphere with a hydrogen content of less than 5%, and subjected to calcination for 2 h to obtain a calcined OV-containing In.sub.2O.sub.3-x sample.
(38) Step 5. 50 mg of the In.sub.2O.sub.3-x sample was added to 20 mL, of ethanol, and a resulting mixture was subjected to ultrasonic treatment for 1 h; 500 μL of a nafion membrane solution was added, and a resulting mixture was further subjected to ultrasonic treatment for 1 h; a resulting solution was coated uniformly on 1 cm×2 cm carbon paper, and the carbon paper was naturally dried; and dried carbon paper was clamped with a gold electrode and then used as a working electrode for a three-electrode system. In the three-electrode system, a platinum wire was used as a counter electrode and a calomel electrode was used as a reference electrode. The ultrasonic treatment was conducted at a power of 800 W and a frequency of 35 KHz.
(39) Step 6. 166.38 μg of uranyl nitrate and 29.2 g of sodium chloride were added to 1 L of deionized water, and a resulting mixture was subjected to ultrasonic treatment at a power of 800 W and a frequency of 35 KHz to obtain simulated seawater with a U.sup.6+ concentration of 100 μg/L and a sodium chloride concentration of 0.5 mol/L; the simulated seawater was added to an electrolytic cell, the three-electrode system was placed in the simulated seawater in the electrolytic cell, and the simulated seawater was stirred for electrolysis, where an electrolytic cell voltage was set to −4 V, and electrolysis was conducted for 10 min with power on for 1 min and power off for 30 s in each cycle to complete uranium extraction from the simulated seawater; and a U.sup.6+ concentration in the simulated seawater obtained after the uranium extraction was determined by ICP-MS, which was 6 μg/L.
(40) Step 7. After the electrolysis was completed, the three-electrode system was placed in an electrolytic cell with a 0.5 mol/L sodium chloride solution, and the sodium chloride solution was stirred for electrolysis, where an electrolytic cell voltage was set to ++0.4V, and the electrolysis was conducted for 20 cycles, with power on for 2 min and power off for 0.5 min in each cycle, such that U.sup.4+ on the working electrode was oxidized into U.sup.6+ in the 0.5 mol/L sodium chloride solution; and a U.sup.6+ concentration in the 0.5 mol/L sodium chloride solution was determined by ICP-MS, which was 90 μg/L.

(42) A method for electrochemical extraction of uranium from seawater using an OV-containing metal oxide was provided, including the following steps:
(43) Step 1. 3 g of In(NO.sub.3).sub.3.4.5H.sub.2O was added to 300 mL of isopropanol, and a resulting mixture was stirred for 1 h and then subjected to ultrasonic treatment for 0.5 h to obtain a solution of indium nitrate in isopropanol; and 100 g of glycerin was added to the solution of indium nitrate in isopropanol, and a resulting mixture was stirred for 1 h and then subjected to ultrasonic treatment for 0.5 h to obtain a mixed solution. The ultrasonic treatment was conducted at a power of 800 W and a frequency of 40 KHz.
(44) Step 2. The mixed solution was added to a high-pressure reactor, high-pressure carbon dioxide was introduced into the reactor, and reaction was conducted under stirring for 2 h at a temperature of 185° C. and a pressure of 22 MPa; a resulting system was naturally cooled to room temperature and pressure was released; and SLS was conducted, and a resulting solid was washed with deionized water and ethanol, and then dried in a vacuum drying oven at 60° C. for 12 h to obtain a spherical indium hydroxide solid.
(45) Step 3. 1 g of the spherical indium hydroxide solid was added to 150 mL of deionized water, and a resulting mixture was subjected to ultrasonic treatment for 1 h; a resulting solution was transferred to a high-temperature and high-pressure PTFE reactor, heated to 60° C. at a heating rate of 5° C./min and held at the temperature for 2 h, and naturally cooled to room temperature; and a resulting solid was washed with ethanol, and then dried in an oven at 60° C. for 12 h to obtain a flaky indium hydroxide solid.
(46) Step 4. The flaky indium hydroxide solid was heated to 385° C. at a heating rate of 10° C./min in an atmosphere with a hydrogen content of less than 5%, and subjected to calcination for 3 h to obtain a calcined OV-containing In.sub.2O.sub.3-x sample.
(47) Step 5. 50 mg of the In.sub.2O.sub.3-x sample was added to 20 mL of ethanol, and a resulting mixture was subjected to ultrasonic treatment for 1 h; 500 μL of a nation membrane solution was added, and a resulting mixture was further subjected to ultrasonic treatment for 1 h; a resulting solution was coated uniformly on 1 cm×2 cm carbon paper, and the carbon paper was naturally dried; and dried carbon paper was clamped with a gold electrode and then used as a working electrode for a three-electrode system. In the three-electrode system, a platinum wire was used as a counter electrode and a calomel electrode was used as a reference electrode. The ultrasonic treatment was conducted at a power of 800 W and a frequency of 40 KHz.
(48) Step 6. 166.38 μg of uranyl nitrate and 29.2 g of sodium chloride were added to 1 L of deionized water, and a resulting mixture was subjected to ultrasonic treatment at a power of 800 W and a frequency of 35 KHz to obtain simulated seawater with a U.sup.6+ concentration of 100 μg/L and a sodium chloride concentration of 0.5 mol/L; the simulated seawater was added to an electrolytic cell, the three-electrode system was placed in the simulated seawater in the electrolytic cell, and the simulated seawater was stirred for electrolysis, where an electrolytic cell voltage was set to −5 V, and electrolysis was conducted for 10 min with power on for 1 min and power off for 30 s in each cycle to complete uranium extraction from the simulated seawater; and a U.sup.6+ concentration in the simulated seawater obtained after the uranium extraction was determined by ICP-MS, which was 5 μg/L.
(49) Step 7. After the electrolysis was completed, the three-electrode system was placed in an electrolytic cell with a 0.5 mol/L sodium chloride solution, and the sodium chloride solution was stirred for electrolysis, where an electrolytic cell voltage was set to +0.5 V, and the electrolysis was conducted for 20 cycles, with power on for 2 min and power off for 0.5 min in each cycle, such that U.sup.4+ on the working electrode was oxidized into U.sup.6+ in the 0.5 mol/L sodium chloride solution; and a U.sup.6+ concentration in the 0.5 mol/L sodium chloride solution was determined by ICP-MS, which was 91 μg/L.
Example 6
(50) A method for electrochemical extraction of uranium from seawater using an OV-containing metal oxide was provided, including the following steps:
(51) Step 1. 3 g of In(NO.sub.3).sub.3.4.5H.sub.2O was added to 300 mL of isopropanol, and a resulting mixture was stirred for 1 h and then subjected to ultrasonic treatment for 1 h to obtain a solution of indium nitrate in isopropanol; and 100 g of glycerin was added to the solution of indium nitrate in isopropanol, and a resulting mixture was stirred for 1 h and then subjected to ultrasonic treatment for 1 h to obtain a mixed solution. The ultrasonic treatment was conducted at a power of 800 W and a frequency of 40 KHz.
(52) Step 2. The mixed solution was added to a high-pressure reactor, high-pressure carbon dioxide was introduced into the reactor, and reaction was conducted under stirring for 2 h at a temperature of 200° C. and a pressure of 25 MPa; a resulting system was naturally cooled to room temperature and pressure was released; and SLS was conducted, and a resulting solid was washed with deionized water and ethanol, and then dried in a vacuum drying oven at 60° C. for 12 h to obtain a spherical indium hydroxide solid.
(53) Step 3. 1 g of the spherical indium hydroxide solid was added to 150 mL of deionized water, and a resulting mixture was subjected to ultrasonic treatment for 1 h; a resulting solution was transferred to a high-temperature and high-pressure PTFE reactor, heated to 60° C. at a heating rate of 5° C./min and held at the temperature for 2 h, and naturally cooled to room temperature; and a resulting solid was washed with ethanol, and then dried in an oven at 60° C. for 12 h to obtain a flaky indium hydroxide solid.
(54) Step 4. The flaky indium hydroxide solid was heated to 400° C. at a heating rate of 10° C./min in an atmosphere with a hydrogen content of less than 5%, and subjected to calcination for 2 h to obtain a calcined OV-containing In.sub.2O.sub.3-x sample.
(55) Step 5. 50 mg of the In.sub.2O.sub.3-x sample was added to 20 mL of ethanol, and a resulting mixture was subjected to ultrasonic treatment for 1 h; 500 μL of a nafion membrane solution was added, and a resulting mixture was further subjected to ultrasonic treatment for 1 h; a resulting solution was coated uniformly on 1 cm×2 cm carbon paper, and the carbon paper was naturally dried; and dried carbon paper was clamped with a gold electrode and then used as a working electrode for a three-electrode system. In the three-electrode system, a platinum wire was used as a counter electrode and a calomel electrode was used as a reference electrode. The ultrasonic treatment was conducted at a power of 800 W and a frequency of 40 KHz.
(56) Step 6. 166.38 μg of uranyl nitrate and 29.2 g of sodium chloride were added to 1 L of deionized water, and a resulting mixture was subjected to ultrasonic treatment at a power of 800 W and a frequency of 35 KHz to obtain simulated seawater with U.sup.6+ concentration of 100 μg/L and a sodium chloride concentration of 0.5 mol/L; the simulated seawater was added to an electrolytic cell, the three-electrode system was placed in the simulated seawater in the electrolytic cell, and the simulated seawater was stirred for electrolysis, where an electrolytic cell voltage was set to −3 V, and electrolysis was conducted for 10 min with power on for 1 min and power off for 30 s in each cycle to complete uranium extraction from the simulated seawater; and a U.sup.6+ concentration in the simulated seawater obtained after the uranium extraction was determined by ICP-MS, which was 5 μg/L.
(57) Step 7. After the electrolysis was completed, the three-electrode system was placed in an electrolytic cell with a 0.5 mol/L sodium chloride solution, and the sodium chloride solution was stirred for electrolysis, where an electrolytic cell voltage was set to +0.3 V, and the electrolysis was conducted for 20 cycles, with power on for 2 min and power off for 0.5 min in each cycle, such that U.sup.4+ on the working electrode was oxidized into U.sup.6+ in the 0.5 mol/L sodium chloride solution; and a U.sup.6+ concentration in the 0.5 mol/L sodium chloride solution was determined by ICP-MS, which was 92 μg/L.
