Abstract
A method and apparatus for styling hair using an apparatus preferably shaped as a hand having finger like elements that are flexible and can be separated from each so that a strand of hair can be inserted in between two of the finger like elements so that the strand is held in place as its being braided. The apparatus is mounted on a base with a clamp for securing the apparatus to a chair, table or other surface to keep the apparatus in place during the braiding of each strand of hair being braided. In another embodiment the apparatus can have three flexible elements that are generally upwardly extending from supporting surface such as a hand like or other structure so that two strands can be placed in between the places between the two end elements and the middle element for braiding.
Claims
1. A method for braiding a person's hair with one or more hair extensions, comprising: providing a mannequin hand with flexible finger-like elements that extend in an upward from a palm portion of said mannequin hand; and pulling a strand of the hair extension between two of the finger-like elements for braiding.
3. The method according to claim 1 wherein said hair extension can be pulled in between either the thumb-like element or the forefinger-like elements of the mannequin hand or the between the middle finger and the ring-like finger elements of the mannequin hand for braiding.
4. The method according to claim 2 wherein said finger-like elements are flexible and can be flexed away from each other so that there is more room to pull a desired amount of hair extensions through for braiding.
4. The method according to claim 1 further comprising clamping the device to a table or chair or the surface with a clamp located on base in which said mannequin hand is mounted.
5. The method according to claim 1 further comprising positioning said mannequin hand by providing a flexible neck like piece attached to said mannequin hand so as to bend or flex and better position the apparatus structure for braiding in hair extensions.
6. An apparatus for braiding with one or more hair extensions, comprising a base portion having three elements extending upwardly from said base portion of said apparatus wherein two of said elements on each end extend away from a middle element, said three elements being bendable and flexible so that said two element on each end of said middle element can bend away from said middle element to provide for more room for the hair extension to be pulled through for braiding and said base being flexible; so that two the hair extensions can be inserted with a desired amount of extensions between said middle element and one of said end portions and another strand between said middle portion and a remaining end element so that strands of different types of hair extensions including curly and straight or strands of different colored hair can be separately braided.
7. The apparatus for braiding one or more hair extensions according to claim 7 wherein said three elements and said base portion of said apparatus are integrally formed.
8. The apparatus for braiding according to claim 7 with one or more hair extensions wherein said apparatus is made of silicon material.
9. The apparatus for braiding according to claim 7 with one or more hair extensions wherein the bottom of the base portion is rounded with approximately two inch round bottom surface and a clamp is added to hold it in place.
10. The apparatus for braiding with one or more hair extensions wherein the base portion has a width of the base portion of approximately 2.5 inches wide and said elements are approximately preferably 2.5 inches long and a distance between each element to a next one is in approximately in a range of from 0.5 inches to 2.5 inches when said two end elements are bent or flexed outward from said middle element.
11. The apparatus for braiding according to claim 7 with one or more hair extensions wherein a bottom of the base portion is preferably rounded with a two inch round bottom surface and a clamp can be added to hold it in place and a width of the base portion is approximately 2.5 inches wide and said elements are approximately preferably 2.5 inches long and a distance between each element to a next element is in an approximate range of from 0.5 inches to 2.5 inches when bent or flexed outward.
12. The apparatus for braiding according to claim 7 wherein an overall width of the apparatus measured from the two end elements when flexed out to the maximum are approximately 5 inches.
13. The apparatus for braiding to claim 7 wherein a height of the apparatus is approximately 5 inches.
14. The apparatus for braiding according to claim 7 herein the apparatus has a recess for holding hair product for braiding hair.
15. The apparatus for braiding according to claim 14 wherein the recess has a circular shape.
