PONYTAIL HOLDER FOR A HAT OR HEADWRAP

Abstract

A headwrap providing mounting a ponytail defined by a stretchable sleeve received over a wearer's head and down onto his or her neck, and able to be attached to the headwrap.

Claims

1. A head wrap comprising a vertically extending when worn fabric sleeve open at either end able to be pulled onto a wearer's head and stretched thereby to be held thereon; an upper portion being axially interrupted with a stretchable loop portion slidable in a respective one pair of portions of said interrupted portions of said sleeve; said loop having an upper exposed segment able to be wrapped one or more times around hair of a wearer to form a ponytail.

2. The head wrap according to claim 1 wherein said sleeve has a slot aligned with said loop extending down from said loop enabling said ponytail to alternatively be able to be passed through said slit instead of said loop.

3. The head wrap according to claim 1 further having a band extending around a lower end of said sleeve when worn.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

[0021] In the following detailed description, certain specific terminology will be employed for the sake of clarity and a particular embodiment described in accordance with the requirements of 35 USC 112, but it is to be understood that the same is not intended to be limiting and should not be so construed inasmuch as the invention is capable of taking many forms and variations within the scope of the appended claims.

[0022] FIGS. 1-3 show a headband 10, with an annular piece 14 gripping the ponytail 12.

[0023] The annular piece 14 in FIGS. 1 and 2 is located to hold the ponytail at a high location while in FIG. 3 the piece 14 holds the ponytail 12 high on the head of the wearer.

[0024] FIG. 4 shows the headband 10 without the ponytail 12.

[0025] The sleeve 16 is split holding the annular piece 14 before being rotated to grip the ponytail 12.

[0026] The annular piece 14 has segments to slidable in tunnels holding either side of piece 14.

[0027] A slot 20 allows the piece 14 to be pulled down to the slot 20 and thereby locate the ponytail to be lowered with the piece 14 higher it raises the ponytail higher this enabling flexibility in that regard.

[0029] To use:

[0030] 1. Pull the headband 10 over the head and down onto the neck with the loop against and aligned with the back of the neck.

[0031] 2. Put one of the hands through the loop.

[0032] 3. Grip the hair next to the neck with the other hand and push it through the loop to the other hand.

[0033] 4. Pull up loop and twist it about a vertical axis.

[0034] 5. Push the hair back through the twisted loop and down (can be repeated). This procedure provides an attachment to the person's head which is high.

[0035] 6. For a lower attachment, the hair is pushed down through the slot 20.
