Abstract
A toy top launcher for launching a toy top including a launcher adapter, the toy top launcher having a housing; a barrel formed in the housing and configured for receiving the launcher adapter; and a lever arm pivotally connected to the housing,
wherein the lever arm has a first end and a second end opposite to the first end, wherein the first end of the lever arm extends into the barrel, wherein the second end of the lever arm extends out of the housing, and wherein the barrel comprises a first screw thread configured for cooperating with a mating screw thread on the launcher adapter.
Claims
1. A toy top launcher (30) for launching a toy top (10) comprising a launcher adapter (20), the toy top launcher (30) comprising a housing (40); a barrel (50) formed in the housing (40) and configured for receiving the launcher adapter (20); a lever arm (60) pivotally connected to the housing (40), wherein the lever arm (60) has a first end (60′) and a second end (60″) opposite to the first end (60′), wherein the first end (60′) of the lever arm (60) extends into the barrel (50), wherein the second end (60″) of the lever arm (60) extends out of the housing (40), and wherein the barrel (50) comprises a first screw thread (56, 56′, 56″) configured for cooperating with a mating screw thread (26, 26′, 26″) on the launcher adapter (20).
2. A toy top launcher (30) according to claim 1, wherein the housing (40) has a flat lower surface (43) defining a plane (P), and wherein the barrel (50) has a longitudinal axis (C), which forms an acute first angle (V) with said plane (P).
3. A toy top launcher (30) according to claim 2, wherein said first angle is 50-80°, preferably 60-70°, such as 65°.
4. Toy system (1) comprising a toy top (10) and a toy top launcher (30), wherein the toy top (10) comprises a launcher adapter (20), wherein the toy top launcher (30) comprises a housing (40); a barrel (50) formed in the housing (40) and configured for receiving the launcher adapter (20); a lever arm (60) pivotally connected to the housing (40), wherein the lever arm (60) has a first end (60′) and a second end (60″) opposite to the first end (60′), wherein the first end (60′) of the lever arm (60) extends into the barrel (50), wherein the second end (60″) of the lever arm (60) extends out of the housing (40), and wherein the barrel (50) comprises a first screw thread (56, 56′, 56″), and the launcher adapter (20) comprises a second screw thread (26, 26′, 26″), which is configured for cooperating with the first screw thread (56, 56′, 56″) in the barrel (50).

A system (1) according to claim 4, wherein the first screw thread is formed as on or more elongate helical beads (56) radially extending from a wall (52) of the barrel (50), and where the second screw thread is formed as a matching number of helical grooves (26) formed in an outer surface (25) of the launcher adapter (20).
6. A system (1) according to claim 5, wherein the elongate helical beads (56) radially extending from a wall (52) of the barrel (50) are punctuated into bead sections (56).
7. A system (1) according to claim 4, wherein the first screw thread is formed as one or more notches (56′) in a launch flange (57) surrounding an opening (51) of said barrel (50), and wherein the second screw thread is formed as a matching number of helical elongate beads (26′) formed on and extending from an outer surface (25) of the launcher adapter (20).
8. A launcher adapter (20) comprising a adapter body (21) having a first end surface (22), a second end surface (23), a cylindrical outer surface (24) and a screw thread arranged at the outer surface (25), wherein the first end surface is provided with attachment means of a first type (24) being configured for cooperating with attachment means of a second type (14).
9. A launcher adapter (20) according to claim 8, wherein the second end surface (23) is provided with a rounding.
10. A method of launching a toy top (10, 20), the method comprising providing a barrel (50) having a first screw thread (56, 56′, 56″); providing a lever arm (60) having a first end (60′) and a second end (60″), where the lever arm is pivotal relative to barrel (50) and the first end (60′) of the lever arm extends into the barrel (50), providing a toy top (10) comprising at least a launcher adapter (20) provided with a second screw thread being configured for mating with the first screw thread of the barrel (50) placing the launcher adapter (20) in the barrel (50), such that a lower, second end surface (23) of the launcher adapter is in contact with the first end (60′) of the lever arm; providing a push to the second end (60″) of the lever arm (60) inducing a rotation of the lever arm (60) forcing the launcher adapter (20) to move along a longitudinal axis (C) of the barrel (50), whereby the mating screw threads on the launcher adapter and the barrel (50) induces a rotation of the launcher adapter (20).
