Abstract
Disclosed is a tank foot ring comprising: a body for supporting a pressurized tank made of polymeric material; and the body having an open end enclosing a hollow space or spaces on which a bottom portion of the pressurized tank rests and wherein the open end is in air flow communication with such hollow space or spaces, and an opposing surface for contacting a ground surface on which the foot ring rests. The opposing surface has a series of openings for drainage of water from the hollow space or spaces. Further provided is a collar for mounting on a top portion of a pressurized tank. The collar comprises: a body, a fastening system and a rotatable lid disposed on the collar. Further provided is a collar with a window cut-out for viewing tank data and a regulator mounting clip for securing a regulator of the tank in place during use.
Claims
1. A tank foot ring comprising: a body for supporting a pressurized tank made of polymeric material; and the body having an open end enclosing a hollow space or spaces on which a bottom portion of the pressurized tank rests and wherein the open end is in air flow communication with such hollow space or spaces, and an opposing surface for contacting a ground surface on which the foot ring rests, said opposing surface having a series of openings for drainage of water from the hollow space or spaces when the foot ring is in use.
2. The tank foot ring of claim 1, wherein the body comprises: a hollow annular portion; and a plurality of radial rib members extending inwardly from the hollow annular portion and wherein the radial rib members converge towards and join at a central point or region of the foot ring.
3. The tank foot ring of claim 2, wherein the hollow annular portion and the plurality of radial rib members form the opposing surface that contacts the ground surface on which the foot ring rests.
4. The tank foot ring of claim 2, wherein the hollow space or spaces are formed in the annular portion and/or the radial rib members.
5. The tank foot ring of claim 1, wherein the opposing surface comprises depressions and/or protrusions formed therein to reduce slippage of the tank foot ring when in use.
6. The tank foot ring of claim 2, wherein at least two of the radial rib members comprise respective longitudinal grooves.
7. The tank foot ring of claim 1, wherein the foot ring is releasably attachable to the bottom portion of the pressurized tank.
8. The tank foot ring of claim 1, wherein the foot ring is releasably attachable to the bottom portion of the pressurized tank by tabs formed on the bottom of the tank, and wherein the tabs and an outside wall of the foot ring each comprise openings that receive a shaft of a fastener when aligned.
9. The tank foot ring of claim 2, wherein each one of the radial rib members has a depth D so as to contact the ground surface at one side and the bottom portion of the pressurized tank at the other side when the foot ring is mounted on the tank.
10. The tank foot ring of claim 1, wherein the foot ring has a diameter that is at least 10% less than the diameter of the tank body.
11. The tank foot ring of claim 10, wherein the foot ring has a diameter that is at least 20% less than the diameter of the tank body.
12. The tank foot ring of claim 1, wherein the foot ring can accommodate a tank weight of at least 400 pounds.
13. The tank foot ring of claim 1, wherein the opposing surface of the foot ring comprises depressions to reduce slippage thereof.
14. The foot ring of claim 2, wherein the radial rib members comprise respective longitudinal grooves.
15. The foot ring of claim 1, wherein the body comprises a wall or walls with proximal ends that support the bottom portion of the tank and that define the hollow space or spaces formed in the body.
16. The foot ring of claim 15, wherein an outer wall comprises recessed portions at an end that faces the bottom of the tank.
17. A tank foot ring comprising: a body for supporting a pressurized tank of a type that does not have a bottom mounted metal ring; the body of the foot ring having an end on which a bottom portion of the pressurized tank rests when in use, and an opposing surface for contacting a ground surface on which the foot ring rests; wherein the foot ring is made of polymeric material; and the body being releasably attachable directly to the bottom portion of the pressurized tank.
18. The tank foot ring of claim 17, wherein the body is releasably attachable to the bottom portion of the pressurized tank by tabs formed on the bottom of the tank that are attachable to the body of the foot ring by a fastener having a threaded shaft.
19. A collar for mounting on a top portion of a pressurized tank, the collar comprising: a body for enclosing and protecting components formed or mounted on the top of the tank; an internal, integral fastening system for releasably attaching the collar body to the top portion of the tank; a lid disposed on the collar body and that actuates between an open position and a closed position, wherein the closed position protects valves and other components disposed in the top portion of the tank; and the collar being made of a plastic material.

The collar of claim 19, wherein the internal, integral fastening system comprises a series of slots formed in the body that each receive a respective one of a series of tabs disposed on the top portion of the tank and wherein the slots each securely engage a respective one of the tabs to lock the collar in place on the tank.
21. The collar of claim 20, further comprising a window for viewing one of the series of tabs disposed on the top portion of the tank, which tab comprises data relating to the tank.
22. The collar of claim 19, further comprising a regulator mounting member for attaching a regulator disposed on a top portion of the tank thereto.
23. The collar of claim 22, wherein the regulator mounting member is a bracket.
24. The collar of claim 22, wherein one end of the mounting member fits into a pocket formed in the collar and the other end is configured for mounting to the regulator by fasteners.
25. The collar of claim 19, wherein the body and the lid are made of a plastic composite material.
26. A collar for mounting on a top portion of a pressurized tank, the collar comprising: a body for enclosing and protecting components formed or mounted on the top of the tank; regions disposed on the collar for receiving a series of fastener members; and a window cut-out portion disposed on one of the regions of the tank collar for receiving the fastener member, wherein the fastening member comprises data relating to the tank and wherein the data is viewable through the window cut-out.
27. The collar of claim 26, wherein the region is for receiving a fastener member that is a tab welded on a top portion of the tank.
28. A collar for mounting on a top portion of a pressurized tank, the collar comprising: a body for enclosing and protecting components formed or mounted on the top of the tank; and a regulator mounting bracket attachable to the collar for securing a regulator of the tank in place during use.
