Abstract
A light up skirt apparatus for creating a light show with a skirt includes a skirt having a waist band, a hem, and a skirt body extending therebetween. The skirt body has a skirt front side, and a skirt back side. The skirt is independent or coupled to an upper top portion as part of a dress. A power pack is coupled to the skirt body. A plurality of batteries is coupled within the power pack. A power switch coupled to the power pack. The power switch is in operational communication with the plurality of batteries. A power wire is coupled to the skirt. The power wire is in operational communication with the plurality of batteries. A plurality of light strips is coupled to the skirt body. The plurality of light strips extends around the skirt body and is in operational communication with the power wire.
Claims
1. A light up skirt apparatus comprising: a skirt having a waist band, a hem, and a skirt body extending therebetween, the skirt body having a skirt front side, and a skirt back side, the skirt body being independent or coupled to an upper top portion as part of a dress; a power pack coupled to the skirt; a plurality of batteries coupled within the power pack; a power switch coupled to the power pack, the power switch being in operational communication with the plurality of batteries; a power wire coupled to the skirt body, the power wire being in operational communication with the plurality of batteries; and a plurality of light strips coupled to the skirt, the plurality of light strips extending around the skirt body and being in operational communication with the power wire.
2. The light up skirt apparatus of claim 1 further comprising the skirt having a skirt seam dividing the skirt front side and the skirt back side; the power wire being coupled within the skirt seam.
3. The light up skirt apparatus of claim 1 further comprising the plurality of light strips comprising a plurality of strip pairs, the strip pairs forming a decorative pattern on the skirt body conforming to traditional designs.
4. The light up skirt apparatus of claim 3 further comprising the plurality of strip pairs being two strip pairs.
5. The light up skirt apparatus of claim 1 further comprising each light strip comprising an illuminable strip body and a plurality of LED lights.
6. The light up skirt apparatus of claim 1 further comprising the skirt having a ruffled fringe coupled along the hem.
7. The light up skirt apparatus of claim 1 further comprising each light strip being substantially flexible to allow the skirt body to bend and flow without restriction.
8. A light up skirt apparatus comprising: a skirt having a waist band, a hem, and a skirt body extending therebetween, the skirt body having a skirt front side, a skirt back side, and a skirt seam dividing the skirt front side and the skirt back side, the skirt body being independent or coupled to an upper top portion as part of a dress, the skirt body having a ruffled fringe coupled along the hem; a power pack coupled to the skirt; a plurality of batteries coupled within the power pack; a power switch coupled to the power pack, the power switch being in operational communication with the plurality of batteries; a power wire coupled to the skirt body, the power wire being coupled within the skirt seam and being in operational communication with the plurality of batteries; and a plurality of light strips coupled to the skirt, each light strip comprising an illuminable strip body and a plurality of LED lights, the plurality of light strips extending around the skirt body and being in operational communication with the power wire, the plurality of light strips comprising a plurality of strip pairs, the strip pairs forming a decorative pattern on the skirt body conforming to traditional designs, each light strip being substantially flexible to allow the skirt body to bend and flow without restriction.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0017] With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
[0018] As best illustrated in
[0019] A power pack 32 is coupled to the skirt 12. The power pack 32 may be coupled to the waist band 14. A plurality of batteries 34 is coupled within the power pack 32. A power switch 36 is coupled to the power pack 32 and is in operational communication with the plurality of batteries 34. A power wire 38 is coupled to the skirt 12. The power wire 38 may be coupled within the skirt seam 24 and is in operational communication with the plurality of batteries 34.
[0020] A plurality of light strips 40 is coupled to the skirt 12. Each light strip 40 comprises an illuminable strip body 42 and a plurality of LED lights 44. The plurality of light strips 40 extends around the skirt body 18 and is in operational communication with the power wire 38. Each light strip 40 may fully encircle the skirt front side 20 and the skirt back side 22. The plurality of light strips 40 may comprise a plurality of strip pairs 46. The strip pairs 46 may form a decorative pattern on the skirt 12 conforming to traditional designs. Each light strip 40 is substantially flexible to allow the skirt body 18 to bend and flow without restriction, allowing it for use in traditional dances.
[0021] In use, the skirt 12 or the dress 28 is worn by a dancer. The power switch 36 is used to illuminate the plurality of light strips 40 as desired while the dancer performs to create an added light show.
[0022] With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
[0023] Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
