Description

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0027] Next the invention will be described in greater detail with reference to exemplary embodiments in accordance with the accompanying drawings, in which:

[0028] FIGS. 1-5 illustrate a principle of an exemplary device in different operation modes for winding binding material according to advantageous embodiments of the invention, and

[0029] FIG. 6 illustrates a side view of an exemplary device according to advantageous embodiments of the invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

[0030] FIGS. 1-5 illustrate a principle of an exemplary device 100 in different operation modes for winding binding material 101 according to advantageous embodiments of the invention. In addition a side view of an exemplary device 100 according to advantageous embodiments of the invention is illustrated FIG. 6.

[0031] The winding device 100 operates advantageously in connection with a gripping mechanism 103, which is typically pushed into an object, such as to into a bale (not shown) so that it is able to grip the binding material 101. When the gripping mechanism 103 is caught the binding material 101 from the bale (or other object), the gripping mechanism 103 is moved away 114 from the bale with said gripped binding material 101, as is described in FIG. 1. The gripping mechanism 103 may be arranged in connection with an external bale opener or alternatively the binding material winding device 100 may comprise said gripping mechanism 103. In addition, according to an embodiment the binding material winding device 100 may be part of the bale opening device know from prior art.

[0032] The winding device 100 may also comprise a guiding member 102 for guiding the binding material 101 towards a winding member 104, as can be seen in FIG. 2. The guiding member 102 may e.g. catch the binding material 101 after the binding material 101 is moved away from the bale so after the gripping mechanism 103 is passed the guiding member 102 with the binding material 101 or otherwise introduced the binding material 101 to the guiding member 102.

[0033] When the guiding member 102 is caught the binding material 101 and introduced it to the winding member 104, the winding member 104 is actuated, typically rotated. During actuation the winding device winds and possibly also removes the binding material 101 so that the binding material 101 is winded advantageously to a small bundle 108, such as into a form of a coil 108, as can be seen in FIGS. 3-5.

[0034] The winding member 104 may also comprise a movable portion 105, such as a sledge, which comprises a gripper 107 for gripping the binding material 101. As an example the winding member 104 comprises at least two protrusion members, rods or hooks, as said gripper 107, as can be seen e.g. in FIGS. 1 and 5 and 6. The protrusion members 107 comprises advantageously a common rotational axis 109 around which the winding member 104 or the movable portion is configured to rotate.

[0035] The binding material winding device 100 may comprises also a counterpart portion 106 so that the guiding member 102 is able to introduce the binding material 101 between the counterpart portion 106 and the movable portion 105 as can be seen in FIG. 6. The counterpart portion 106 may also comprises a recess 110, which is configured for receiving the end portion of the movable portion 105 of the winding member 104, such as the sledge, as can be seen in FIG. 6.

[0036] The counterpart portion 106 may also move 116 against the winding member 104, thereby pressing the binding material 101 and guiding the binding material 101 during the winding process, as well as to move backwards 116 thereby controlling the thickness of the winded binding material 108.

[0037] It is to be noted that the components of the device, such as especially the winding member 104, end portion of the movable portion 105 and the counterpart portion 106, may be replaceable parts.

[0038] The winding device may additionally comprise a guiding device 111. The guiding device 111 is advantageously arranged around the winding member 104 during actuation so to guide and force the binding material 101 against the winding member 104 during winding. The guiding device 111 may be fixedly arranged (unmovable) or it can be configured to actively control the size of the winded binding material 108 during winding, and thus is can be arranged in movable way so that moving “outwards” 115 when the diameter of the coil is increased during winding, as can be seen in FIG. 4.

[0039] The guiding device 111 may be arranged in connection with the counterpart portion 106 so that the guiding device 111 is configured to be protruding during winding, so e.g. when the movable portion 105 and/or the counterpart portion 106 is moved against each other, or the guiding device 111 may be arranged in connection with the movable portion 105.

[0040] The winding device 100 may comprise also a releasing member 112 for releasing the coil, as can be seen in FIG. 5.

[0041] The guiding member 102 and the winding member 104 (as well as possible also the gripping mechanism 103) can be mutually arranged so to enable said gripping mechanism 103 returning back towards 113 the new bale or supporting structure for supporting the bale (or other object) essentially at the same time when the winding member 104 is winding the binding material 101, as can be seen in (and process steps of) FIGS. 3-5.

[0042] The invention has been explained above with reference to the aforementioned embodiments, and several advantages of the invention have been demonstrated. It is clear that the invention is not only restricted to these embodiments, but comprises all possible embodiments within the spirit and scope of the inventive thought and the following patent claims.

[0043] The features recited in dependent claims are mutually freely combinable unless otherwise explicitly stated.
